Eh.I'm mostly worried about my upcoming character not being able to do much when it comes to fighting. Too many bullet timers and people wearing indestructible 14th century armor. I might have to branch away from the Fallout fluff/canon to make him fit.

I had to walk to the end of the Earth, TWO LIGHTYEARS AWAY, holding my breath and smoking a cigarette at the same time - while whistling Dixie and sacrificing a small child to the God of Ashtkoa, which is located on the other end of a galaxy, four hundred light years away to get this armor. And i had to do it in THREE days.

So don't you hate on my savvy armor! :(

Extremely OP'd hells bells I let Rilla into this and he is the most OP'd person I know

First of all, Rilla did not join. :( xD He's probably dead after the following events:

His grandson took his spirit animal, Ouroboros, when Rilla had to make a deal with the Axis Mundi to get out of the prison his adopted granddaughter put him in. The deal was that Rilla would take the Mundi with him, which came in the form of this adorable little white creature. But what he didn't know was that as long as the Mundi was out, Rilla would continually get weaker. Once he got too weak, using what bits of his Creation magic, literally Creation, he puppeted himself to his brother... who 'shot the strings' probably killing him. Afterwards. Ouroboros had a tweener/heel turn and went to Joseph.

SO..

HA! :P I am not OP!

*Goes back to looking at my twerking picture.*

I guess. I mean, the nature of this RP requires a fair amount of 'handwavium', so to speak.Unrelated, but Rilla---your signature is just abhorrent. XD

Gurllll, you know you like that twerk. ;D

Well since we are talking about fictitious animals that as far as we can tell have no analogous beast in our historical records why not just make it as you envision it?Oh and Rill, I answered you question...I think the answers might surprise you.

Hey, you still have another one up there I believe. :P

You misunderstand. I'm saying if Talon hits someone with his sword... he can IMMEDIATELY activate those abilities to increase damage or rend limbs from bodies. How would one stop that if the attack had already hit, hmm?

That doesn't mean they can't continue to attack, depending on who they are.

For instance, if you hit Khan's Sand dude with it, he can possibly still hit you with any ability he has charged - unless you blow was a killing one.

It comes down to reflexes, if they can do something to stop you from executing the next motion - then you are SOL.

My face when...Alright. And what about techniques such as Talon's "Deep Cut" or "Grave Cut"? That are used after an attack already hits? How does one defend against those, Hmm?

They'd simply have to find a way to stop you from executing them, they could for instance attack you while you're close with either a charged ability, if they have any - or a physical attack, if still able.

But that comes down to who you are facing, and their own abilities.
Not really. Non-magical weapons have the advantage of not needing a charge to be of effect. With a normal gun, I can shoot you after pulling it out. That's an advantage. Magic, in some places and played at its strictest, you HAVE to charge for it to used.

Skallagrim can better explain it, since he's been using the system the longest.

And that's not metagaming. Just because you are charging, doesn't mean the other person also isn't charging. They can use what they charge to mitigate some of the damage, or outright negate it.

How do you prep a defense against a prepared offense and expect the prepared defense to even hold out? The only way this would work is if you somehow metagame and magically get away with it. Also, preparing a suitable defense doesn't make much sense in these cases, unless I'm missing something here. Give me an example?

Anything can likely be taken as a defense.

If I was charging a earth attack and you were charging a fire attack at the same time, we both get to three, and you attack. I can use my earth attack to defend. With both o us having zero as a charge number following it.

Preps are usually more magic based. Holding a normal gun for ten rounds isn't going to charge it. Holding a gun that uses magic as its ammo and charging it for ten turns, however, will likely fuck that tank up.

But if you would like, you can wait until Skallagrim returns and let him explain it.

Cute. No. If someone has ten turns of prep, and a character can still feasibly dodge or block... they dodge or block. If you and I were in a fight, for example... and you pulled back a bat to swing at me while standing around a corner... Say I couldn't see you, and I walked up and saw your shadow, but you heard my footsteps. You step out and swing it at me, but I knew you were there JUST before you attacked. Guess what... you could be standing there for an hour and it wouldn't matter. I would have just as much chance to dodge as you would to hit. Thus how logic works.

That's dodging.

I didn't say anything about DODGING an attack.

You said if he could absorb it, you didn't say if he could do a triple moonsault aerial, back handspring tuck mctwist dodge.

I answered your question as to whether or not he could absorb it. In T1, your defense is based off preps in defense vs preps in offense.
