Magical time skip

After the funeral Rin and Marcus returned to the academy. Their studies progressing and their skills better than ever. Following the death of his brother Marcus faced many uncertain and upsetting thoughts and emotions. Regularly Rin would stay up late with him, talking. Slowly Rin opened up about her family more as well. Though the important details about how her step father hit her was left out. Finally the day for them to leave for Rin's home came.

After touching down at the small dusty airport and getting off the ship Rin looked around. "Welcome to the middle of nowhere. " She grinned. As she started walking she swung her duffle bag over her shoulder. "I probably should have told you, we'll be walking." She said casually like it was expected. Tenish was one of the few places where in remote parts more advanced technology is practically nonexistent. Rin home town was a small community of friendly people, much different than what most are use to.

An exasperated sigh escaped her. "No, it's not that. It's just, well my dad was a great man. But he wasn't around because he died. And my mom, like a lot of women in that situation, moved on and got another husband. Henry, well he is not a good man. He's... He's.." She stammered. Her voice was full of emotion. Turning her head she caught Marcus gaze, her eyes full of hatred and pain. "I'm going home in a month to see my family. Would you come with me?" She asked.

Once outside Rin stopped and faint traces of sadness mixed with anger swept across her face. "Well at least all you have to worry about is them talking down to you." She remarked. She walked over to the railing of the balcony and looked over the yard. Her thoughts drifted to her step father, Henry. Suddenly her whole body hurt. The memories of him beating her were nearly unbaerble. What really got to her thought was the fact that he hurt her mother. A woman who's only transgression was loving her family to much. Rin's fist gripped the railing, knuckles white.

This is from Charlie (Rin's sister) history. We can tweak it if we want. But at least this will be an overview.

She is Rin's younger sister. As Rin's father died when she was only 3 year Charlie has a different father. Rin's and Charlie's mother remarried 6 years after Rin's(when she was 9) father died. The marriage was never a good one though. The real reason behind Henry and Piper(Rin's & Charlie's mom) getting married was because Piper got pregnant with Charlie. Almost immediately Henry started abusing Piper and Rin. Rin hated Henry but tried to respect him since he was her step father. Rin was always very protective over her little sister and would stand between her and Henry on a regular bases, and would get abused even more because of it. Henry cared for Charlie much more than Rin and frankly hated her. He would spoil Charlie and treat her like a princess. So Charlie was always the center of attention and that made Rin a bit spiteful of her younger sister. About 10 years later Henry had started abusing Charlie and was even worse to Piper than ever. He went missing shortly there after to never be seen again, but he wasn't really missed.

Her family should come first. Since he needs to see how bad her step dad is. Should we skip again then? or do we need to post a bit more here?
