Current Just because you "fight a good fight" doesn't mean you didn't do horrible things.

I'm sorry for anyone who was waiting for me. Some real life stuff happened, but for now things seem calm. I'll try to post in my RP's ASAP.

Meirin wished she could have known what was happening. It was all just too fast for her. First she threw Lyn, than she began to fall, than everything turned black. She didn't know what to make of it. If this was what death was like, it was awfully anti-climactic. Least of all since she never imagined her end would simply be falling into a river in Djarkel. Kind of disappointing. Whether Ssarak's arms was a better turn of events or not didn't really register in Meirin's mind.

Her head was throbbing, her arms felt like they were both on fire, and she was certain she was bleeding. Truthfully however she didn't strain her arms enough to actually tear them out, but they were pulled out of socket, which didn't make things feel any more comfortable for her. Not one to linger on weakness however, as Meirin struggled to move off of Ssarak, she put her shoulders back into position, with a sickening and unnatural crunching sound. Despite being somewhat ready for this, she still screamed out in pain, and even did the same with her other arm. This was, at best, a rudimentary solution to her problems however, and she would like to see a professional healer to ensure that she makes a full recovery. But that wasn't on her mind right now. All she could think about was the pain and trying not to make a mess of herself in front of Ssarak. Meirin couldn't even say anything that didn't come out as a pained whimper. All she could think about was a single phrase while leaning weakly against Ssarak's body. "I'm so weak..."

Despite her thoughts, Meirin knew she had to get out of here. Once she gathered enough of her strength to stand steady she began to walk. She didn't really know where she was going, but she was starting to become more lucid, and knew that she was looking for some way out of the riverbed and back to the caravan. Her body was swaying and she was still staggering, but she was determined to get back to the caravan. She had something to say to Alaira, and it was this fury that fueled Meirin.
Fallen I tried to send you my PM, I don't know if it went through or not. I'm typing on my phone right now so when I get home I'll try again.
Saved Lyn. Now how about someone save Meirin?
Struggling through holding the rope, Meirin didn't relax even when Ssarak and Darius came across. She certainly didn't when she saw something sneak out from behind the caravan. At first she thought a bandit might have sneaked onto the cart, but what she saw was much worse. "Lyn!?" It was Mar's and Athalus's child, of all things. She seemed to have come out to help and managed to manipulate the ropes to holding together. This allowed the caravan enough time to get across and Meirin let go, ready to leave as well. But than she saw Lyn fall. Worse, she saw from afar that the fire was now eating the ropes. Meirin wished she could have taken the time to talk to the others about what she was going to do, but they really didn't have time to talk. Despite the pain, Meirin ran out to pick up Lyn. As the bridge was falling, Meirin was unsure if she could make it. She did something so stupid, it might have topped what Alaira did. Meirin threw Lyn towards the solid ground, off the bridge and hopefully to safety. When the bridge snapped and fell, Meirin could only think that somehow, someway, she was going to have to survive this. If not, that at least she dies in her hope country.
Meirin is going to have some choice words when this is all over...
Sorry if you guys had anything planned. I just wanted to somehow save the caravan before it was too late. I'll edit if I need to, but that's how Meirin is going to save the bridge.
"Dammit, Alaira!"

Meirin tried in vane to stop the fire from spreading. She always knew Alaira was a bit unhinged, but was she trying to kill them all?! How was this even suppose to be remotely helpful? Meirin did a quick movement to blow the smoke out of their faces, but she couldn't do that more than once before she started coughing. Fighting the flames was pointless, but they could still escape with the caravan. Meirin followed the tracks and got onto the bridge, only to see that the bandits were still there and they were now in a much more precious situation. At least before they had a fighting chance, but now the bandits threaten to cut the bridge if they don't give into their demands. Ssarak relayed a mental message suggesting to give into the bandits demands and they try to kill them afterwards, but of course, Alaira was a loose-cannon. She vaulted over the bank under the assumption no one would see her burst out of the fire, and tried to pull the bandits down. All she succeed in doing was cutting the last rope keeping the bridge up.

Meirin had to act fast, at least fast enough to fix this mess. She knew little to no magic that could save the rope, but she could still use her body. Just as the rope split Meirin grabbed onto it, and than reached out to grab the post it was tied to. Using her own body to hold the bridge up she could feel her body ripping apart from the weight, but she held together. For now. "GO! GO ACROSS THE BRIDGE NOW, DAMMIT!" Meirin screamed as tears begin to form across her body.
I.... I don't know what to post if that's the case. I thought maybe I could have Meirin splash some water near the bridge so it doesn't catch on fire, but if what you say is true, that we just lost the bridge, and the caravan. I don't even know if I can do anything about that. Is there a way to save the caravan?
Walking was nothing new to Meirin. Walking long distances less so; she did used to protect caravans through Djarkel after all. She let the others take turns on the wagon's footholds as she simply walked alongside keeping pace with the wagon. Despite the dark and desolate landscape, Meirin felt at home. She was familiar to these lands, and for their lifelessness, there was a certain serene beauty to it. Plus, these open plains were perfect places for open warfare. Meirin couldn't help it; she's heard stories of great battles and could see them all here. War was a terrible thing, but a sight to behold nonetheless.

As the caravan was moving along familiar dirt roads they came to a stop. Two men fighting a pitch battle in front of a bridge. Meirin's adrenaline flared up. This was a perfect spot for an ambush, and she'd know it. It was a bait-and-switch: caravan gets blocked by a scene, and the bandits would move their men into position to maximize their surprise attack. The tall grass makes it difficult for the wagon to move, and there was no way to go but back if they weren't going to fight. The fighters were blocking to bridge so they couldn't go forward, and no doubt these men had others hidden in the grass to ambush them. Meirin looked around, trying to find some sign of where the bandits would be lying in wait. Ssarak mentioned trying to talk to the fighters and avoid fighting, but Meirin knew it wouldn't be that simple. At best they'd have to pay the bandits a toll to pass, but that's not what they were hired to do. And that was if they were even going to be willing to just allow them to go free afterwards and not attack them when the caravan shows them their backs. No, a fight was going to be expected, and Meirin was going to get ready for a fight. She gripped her Monk's Spade firmly, ready to flourish it at a moment's notice.

"This is a trap. Ssarak, speak to the fighters if you must. The rest of us should keep an eye out for their allies, who are no doubt aware and waiting for us." If these bandits knew what they were doing, they would be hiding in the tall grass with crossbows ready to shoot them. If she could figure out their location, she could expose them with a wind burst, or maybe use the burst to close the distance and take out a bandit before he could reload his crossbow or draw his weapon. Meirin narrowed her eyes and looked into the tall grass, ready to take the initiative.
Smitten Kitten continued to circle above the fight with Corpse Collector just to see what was going to happen. She didn't notice the bullets whizzing past her however, and she certainly didn't notice the Dissolutions that fell above her. Smitten Kitten was at least able to switch gears and go on the defensive, making her flying ally dodge and weave past the falling monsters. Smitten Kitten had no idea what was going on now, but she also felt that she was in too deep just to leave now. But she was also rather confused on what she should do; initially she was going to help out Corpse Collector because she thought she would be a good way to defeat the Black King. But something about Corpse Collector struck Smitten Kitten as very wrong. She couldn't place her finger on it, but it made her hesitant to offer her help to either Corpse Collector of the other fighters. Smitten Kitten would need to watch for a little bit longer before she decided who's side she would fight for.
