At least to get samples, because if they managed to neutralize the negative effects, it would effectively create super soldiers. I actually like this idea. Though as a bit of a tip, if you do go with this, keep your eyes out for Kain, the name patient zero will be given by the survivors. And of course being the first gives him some benefits. I'll probably take control of him on occasion, especially if you get too close to him or to harass the survivors.

Post-mortis stage Infected reanimates with no personal memories, just instinct, language and fine motor skills as well as the physical enhancements. Can run Faster, Longer and lift more weight due to 38% desensitization to pain. *update- 1 in 10,00 reanimated vampires may retain some memories* There is no NEED for blood, but there is an insatiable desire for blood. Can live as long as they remain intact, meaning significant damage can kill them though destroying the brain and skull will always kill one of these undead monsters.
