Longevity of a technique such as shadow binding and stuff like that... is pretty much stupid to debate in a play-by-post RP. Even if it holds a foe for ten seconds or less, that is plenty of time to abuse the piss out of it.

As you pointed out with the Warlord, or with those numerous TES Fails, many people just want to be overpowered. I actually like the challenge of weaker characters. If I wanted to be OP, I would have made a Vanguard. XD

Personality: Yukihiro is as laid back as can be for the most part. Sure, he's incredibly talented in combat. Sure, he's fairly intelligent. Sure, he's no slouch at Kido. But honestly, he'd rather kick back and have a drink with those he considers friends, or grab a bite to eat in the world of the living when he can get some leave time.

History: Back in the day, Yukihiro was an exorcist of sorts. He could see and interact with spirits. It earned him a decent living and even helped him meet his wife. But the problem with seeng spirits, is that they can see you as well. Most, of course, are harmless ghosts of people who just can't or don't want to pass on. Some are malevolent, however... and those are more than problematic. It was one of those malevolent spirits that cost Yukihiro his life.

"I thought it would be a routine exorcism. But I was wrong about that. See... here's how it went down... I was, as usual, operating alone. No need to involve the wife and my kid, right? And outside this nobleman's home I felt a less than benevolent presence. No sooner did I turn around, a monster took a swing at me. Tell you what... I was scared out of my head. I was almost sure I was gonna lose my life. But that didn't mean I wasn't going to fight for it. I drew my sword and slashed at it. The thing seemed almost surprised that I could see it, let alone attack it. Amazingly, The leg I had slashed at only took minor damage... a solid cut, but I was trying to sever the thing. I knew for a fact then, that I was in deep."

"In any case... I still fought. But the thing was wearing me down a lot faster than I could hurt it. I eventually fell... my wounds taking their toll on me. But wouldn't you know it? Someone came to my aid. A woman in a black kimono, wielding a Katana not so different from mine. She killed that thing dead in two tips of a whiskey bottle. Problem was... I was too far gone and couldn't be saved. She told me about the soul society, and that I showed great promise and bravery in fighting the "Hollow" despite being only a human. I knew I wouldn't survive the wounds... I could feel the darkness coming for me. So I made one final request... that I could appear before my family and tell them what had happened to me... and that I would be waiting for them on the other side. She agreed to take my spirit to them and allow me to relay said message."

"So now here we are... In the Soul Society. I'm a successful Shinigami... or Soul Reaper if you prefer, my family is here after living good lives in the world of the living, and I have plenty of friends to spend my days with and who I'd trade for nothing. So... what's your story?"

The world is a blissfully annoying calm, and is mirrored perfectly in any water. Crashing down into the water causes no splash, but instead simply sends the one splashing into a buffer zone between their original side and the mirrored side of the world. Everything here has two forms. Normal, and Mirrored. In fact, it is possible to fight your mirrored form in this world if you remain in the buffer zone between mirrored worlds. None may enter the mirror world, however, as the one who controls both sides is Azamuku... and he has so far allowed none to enter their reflection.

Main: Allows Yukihiro to change his combat style far more quickly, enabling him to mimic the attacks and movements of his foes. In doing so, he irritates them to a degree that they will likely become reckless and leave an opening in their defenses that he can exploit.

(note: He cannot copy major techniques such as Suzumushi Tsuishiki, Senbon Zakura Kageyoshi, Getsuga Tensho, etc)

Secondary: Allows Yukihiro to minorly change his appearance. He can alter the appearance of his face and basic body structure, enabling him to disguise himself as another man... or even a woman, given his slender build.

Bankai Abilities: Not only can Yukihiro make use of the abilities granted by his Shikai... but he hones them to a degree that is almost unbelievable. Once in Bankai state, Yukihiro can perfectly copy any foe's fighting style he has fought in the past and use it to his advantage. He also is able to read his current foe's movements to such a degree, that he is a perfect mirror of their attacks (albiet a MICROSECOND slower, as he needs to see the attack start to mirror it). To top off his copy abilities, Yukihiro can also mirror the appearance of his current foe or of past foes to an eerie precision... including the sound of their voice.

( note: In Bankai, he can copy major techniques, but they are significantly [33% to 50%] weaker than the real thing. Doing so, however... is very draining as it is not a technique that is his own. In addition, copying the techniques of non-shinigami are even more difficult. At his best, Yukihiro could likely only imitate four or five shinigami signature attacks, or three non-shinigami signature attacks before being unable to maintain Bankai any longer. )

I understand that. How about I nix the over-powered Stimulant Pack power, replace that with something else, and make his jet-packs a bit unreliable, only working maybe a couple times in any given day. Such a defect would likely reduce the sale price of an armor set like that, and maybe even make it more obtainable by a civilian/merc, rather than almost exclusively military.

Also, it's the Batarians that have a Hegemony, if I recall. Don't remember what the Turians refer to their government as.

I apologize if it seems like I'm trying to go balls-out with the character. I'm not. Let me know if the above compromises would be acceptable, and if not, what would be needed in addition to them. I'm not all for doing a squad-based hoard mode thing like the multiplayer, btw. I just like the Turian Havoc and I think he could be very utilitarian both on and off a battlefield.

I'm pretty sure I did. And I can just reason that he saved his salary and bought custom armor once he left the military, rather than kept his old kit. Once I have a bit more time, I will make the needed edits.

Personality: Tallin is generally no-nonsense when it comes to a mission, as are most Turians. But having given up on the 26th Armiger Legion, Tallin is usually not well liked among his fellows. This does not bother him much, as he remains focused on the future rather than the past. In less heated moments, he is actually quite laid back and even known to share a drink with those he works with. He is quick to tell his story during down-time, and loves to relax while looking out into space. He is also still somewhat distrustful of humans. This is not due to the fact they are militarily potent, but the fact that they are simply an unknown on the Galactic scene.

History: Tallin is a Turian who's story is a roller-coaster of events. His story is as follows. Born in 2145CE, Tallin was an unremarkable Turian child. By his teenage years, the Relay 314 Incident had already come and gone, with the Humans being brought onto the Galactic scene and allowed an embassy on the Citadel shortly after that. Initially, Tallin thought his shot at military honor was gone, but his friends quickly got that thought out of his head. And so, to take a shot at gaining reputation among his people, Tallin applied to join the illustrious 26th Armiger Legion shortly after his Military Service began.

Much to his surprise, he was accepted into the company and trained as a “Havoc”. Quick strikes, close quarters, and endurance. These were the things he was expected to master in his new role. And up until 2169CE, he did remarkably well. However, the approval of his superiors soon turned to disdain, as Tallin chose to do something rather idiotic. Scouts for the Xenophilic publication, Fornax, came across Tallin while he was on leave and having a drink. They told him he was a fine example of a Turian, and that his tattoos were stunning. What came next is somewhat of a defining moment in Tallin's life.

A few weeks later, when on leave once more, Tallin did a photo-shoot for Fornax. The title for his segment was “Heating up the Front Lines: Men of the Turian Military”. The young man bared it all for the magazine, as he was fairly proud of his physique. His superiors were less than amused when they found out what he had done. Such a thing was not only unbecoming of a soldier, but downright unacceptable for one in such a prestigious unit. Paperwork was filed and soon the process of barring Tallin from the Armigers began. But he would have none of that.

Upon hearing of the intentions of his superiors, Tallin chose to sit down and speak with them personally. The Major in charge of his regiment proceeded to berate him for over an hour, repeatedly going back to the Havoc's poor sense of personal honor and his blatant disregard for the reputation of the 26th Armiger Legion. Tallin let the man vent, of course... but responded when asked and even refuted a couple of things that the angered Major had stated. Regardless... Tallin was given the option to leave now, clinging to what little respect he had, or let the process come to a head and be formally discharged. The choice was simple, and Tallin chose to leave willingly.

As his kit, aside from his customized Phaeston, was military property, he not was allowed to keep it upon his discharge/resignation. However, nine years of reliable service could get a man a fair amount of credits saved up, if spent wisely. What he was not allowed to keep were his Sidearm, as it was a sign of rank, or the Rail Extensions for his assault rifle as they were issued to him by the Military. But his rifle was his own property, and was not seized by the Turian Hierarchy.

To round out his gear, Tallin spent a significant remnant of his savings on a potent shotgun. The Elkoss Combine M-27 Scimitar was a fully-automatic weapon capable of dealing significant damage to anyone dumb enough to get in its wielder's face. He then had it modified to hold more shots before overheating, and put a higher-caliber barrel on it to further increase its deadly potential. In addition, he managed to find a suit of poorly maintained Havoc Armor at a trade show on Invictus. The Jets were touchy, though... and didn't work very well. And with that purchase, the time came to find new work, as his disposable assets were beginning to dwindle.

A few years passed, with Tallin working as a bodyguard for merchants, a bouncer at a bar on the planet of Invictus, and even as a Mercenary in the Attican Traverse. They all kept the bills paid and the credits flowing, but Tallin always wanted something more out of life. For the time being, however, he was stuck in a rut.

Let me get to work on him and I will probably have him up for review within the next couple of hours. Hopefully he will be up to snuff, as it has been quite some time since I have given Advanced RPs a chance.
