Bio

I have been actively roleplaying for around 18 years now, since age 15. Which, as you might have guessed, makes me 33. I've done most of my rping on forums, averaging 2 to 4 paragraphs. Though I also LARP, and have played D&D for about 17 years. Real life has become a larger part of my life though, so my activity has lessened. Even so, I don't think I'll ever stop rping. :)

And there, at the bottom of the list, one single person was online. "Holy shit, even friends lists work...does that mean--" He pressed on Kali's name, and a window popped up saying 'Telepathy activated', before disappearing again. Telepathy was the game's way of explaining voice chat over long distances. But now he didn't have a mic... "Uh, hello? Kali? I guess you're in here as well... I'm trying out telepathy...can you hear me?" An answer came indeed, and in his head no less! Like they were using real telepathy right now. "Holy shit...this is so awesome." He muttered, forgetting for a moment that telepathy transferred all voice, since he didn't have a way to mute a microphone. "Let's meet up...I don't know if we can still resurrect like in the game, and you're online and a healer, so..." At the very least she could keep him alive while he did the fighting. In a best case scenario her resurrection would also work, since it was a spell and not a general game mechanic in Elder Tale. It would give them an advantage if they stuck together in any case. Plus Alakai had never been a social person in real life. Talking to a player now gave too much of a 'real life' fibe, so he would prefer doing this with someone he knew. "I'll be at the weapons and armor shop I showed you last week."

As he talked, the monk was headed for the local weapons and and armor shops, which were right next to each other. He still had starting gear. But luckily he also had 500 gold left from the hardcore mob grinding he had done. Since he was a beta tester, he had already picked out a spot to grind some high value items to get some quick gold, get better gear, and try to boost himself ahead of anyone that wasn't in the beta. That money came in handy now. And the plan he had set out for himself in the beta might still work as well. Though it depended on if npc's still gave quests. If not, things would be significantly slower, even if that was the same for everyone. Most people around him were still too shocked or terrified of the unfamiliar to act though. Which could give him even more of an advantage. It gave Kali an advantage as well if she wanted to party. But she seemed like a player with good intentions, so he didn't mind her trying to rise with him to the top if they could get along for a longer time.
Edit: Nevermind...I should have read the entire post first. Though it was a 3rd person rpg like wow before, and not it's first person and all that. Like in real life. So I thought she would have noticed right away. But I guess she was still too sleepy? :P
A city built on a hill, and shaped like a mountain. The highest buildings were in the centre, while the smallest ones were at the edge. No wall surrounded this city because it was surrounded by vibrant green mountains and steep hills on one side, and the sea on the other. The only way to get in or out was through a single passage in between the mountains. Alakai knew the city of Malystare well, yet right now he couldn't believe he was seeing it in front of him. The last thing he remembered was blacking out while playing the same game this city came from. But he was there himself, in the flesh, for real. "No way..." The man mumbled, looking around, looking at himself, then rubbing his eyes and doing the same all over again. "This must be a dream..." He slapped himself against his face as hard as he could, yet the only thing he felt was a slight sting. "Unreal...this doesn't feel like a dream..." Luckily for him, Alakai had always been able to think things through rationally. And this was no exception.

Right now the man was standing in the cathedral of the city. A respawn area. At first he was alone. But then suddenly something flashed behind him. Another person had just spawned there as well! "What? Where am I?!" The person behind him exclaimed. He turned around, recognizing the character as a Bard. He couldn't give the man much explanation though. "I thought it was impossible for something like this to happen. But...I think this is the world in Elder Tale. Look around you. This looks like Malystare doesn't it?" But that was about all Alakai wanted to explain. He had no time to deal with other people panicking. Even if there was a small chance that this all was really happening, he wanted to at least be prepared for that. And since Elder Tale was an mmorpg, your level and gear could make or break you in a world like this.

"Let's see..." If this was really a game world, surely there were ways to open your inventory or some such right? He pressed his index finger foward, but nothing happened. "Guess it doesn't work the way I imagined it, if at all..." He started walking again, trying to think of other ways to see inventory or any kind of menu. "Inventory?" Suddenly a window popped up in front of him, which made him fall back in shock. "Holy shit it really worked!" He thought to himself as he stared wide-eyed at the window. "Well...uh...let's see..." Nothing but the basic monk's clothes was equipped at the moment, but his inventory had several items.

-Novice's lunchbox, heal 50 hp and mana per second for 10 seconds, removes 'hunger' and 'thirst' effect. x5
-Claw bracers, basic monk weapon, +20 attack.
-Free pre-order voucher for a horse.
-Wraith's ring, +10% all stats, usable up until level 20. (Special beta event item.)

"I even have my pre-order and beta event items..." He though as he idly walked towards the city square. Here and there some other players, or, adventurers, were running be him. They were probably panicking or trying to find a way out. But Alakai wasn't paying attention to them. His mind was racing to figure out if wherever this was, was indeed like the game, and where it differed. Not everything a game did could be translated to real life, or the other way around, after all. "Guess that means I'm keeping my advantage, even here. Plus ten percent all stats will help me survive a lot better. Wait...does it even work?" He decided to point his finger again, and this time it did work. A new window popped up, asking which action he wanted to take. He pressed on equip, and immediately he could feel that this definitely had an effect. It was a very odd and unfamiliar feeling though. "I think I could get used to this kind of world..." He mused with a slight grin.

Next up, though, he would have to make a plan. First he had to find out if there were more game-mechanics like the inventory. "Character screen, Menu, skills, abilities-" They all didn't work so far, though right now his mind was just wandering to random things, not paying much attention. He couldn't help but think of his ingame friends, wondering if this had happened to any of them as well. "-friends--" And pling! A friends list popped up. "Wait...does that mean-- I can check--" He quickly looked at the window, using his finger to scroll through the list. So far, none of them were online it seemed...

Octavius raised his mug as well. Clearly he didn't know whom he was dealing with yet, as even pride didn't make you irresponsible. That's what her old crew had called anyone who tried to beat her in a drinking contest. Luckily, this crew was unfamiliar with her. "I'm not joining in on a contest..." Ace spoke, looking around the group. Everyone but two seemed to be a push over. He knew Ceres' capabilities already, and Octavius could probably old his own as well. So he opted out of this one. Several other men decided to join in as well, thinking this single girl had no chance against half a dozen guys. Even if she was good, she couldn't be better than all of them.

But how wrong they were. Ceres grinned widely, and quickly filled her mug for a second helping. Him and Octavius were on even footing, so there was no unfairness going on any more. And everyone but Ceres and Octavius took quite a bit of time to down each mug. At least 20 seconds. While Octavius and Ceres seemed to down them in a mere 7 at most. Both had 3 now, but neither was even close to slowing down. "It's a bit of a shame that drinking like this takes away the suspense, but it would otherwise take too long." The woman mused as she refilled for a fourth time. "I'll make a little prediction. I bet I'll still be able to stand after 15~"
Is it that hard for him to think of a scenario where she both wins, and he doesn't lose his reputation? For instance, if she was still going after about 15 mugs? :P And no, that's not because of her water powers either.
Ramiel's words had gotten through it seemed. Ada calmed down and even put a smile back on her lips. That was already much better. And a moment after he was done talking, she she suggested a meal. It was an odd moment to suddenly change the subject. But as long as her panic attack was averted it was fine. "Very well. I'm curious about how food has changed over the years." He quickly followed behind, his master leading them to what looked like a restaurant. Though there was something...different about it. The food all looked rather...hastily put together, and didn't look too appetizing at first glance. "I'll have the same." He spoke after a few seconds. Most of these meals looked rather foreign, like this bacon burger. He did know of beef and bacon though. And Ada seemed to like it, so it couldn't be too bad.

Once they had their meals, after only a minute or two even, they headed to a table. And as Ramiel sat down, all he could do was stare at his meal. Ada already gave the perfect introduction to the most important question he had right now. "Quite so... There are many things different from my time. For instance, this burger. It doesn't look like any food I saw back then. And these 'fries', seem like...they're made of potatoes? Is this really proper food to eat? Looks kind of unhealthy..." In his time, instant meals and fast food weren't a thing. If you wanted food, you'd need a cook to prepare it almost from scratch. And such simple foods as hamburgers or french fries weren't widely know yet either.
The captain with his group were back soon enough. The people that had stayed behind only had their first tankard empty by that time, so they all quickly joined in. Ceres hadn't planned to get drunk at this time, though this definitely changed things. Cuttlam intended to drink more than just a bit, so she wasn't about to stay behind. In fact, she had a little plan. Or rather, she had a tradition she held whenever she met new people like this. "Okay boys, since we're all drinking now...I challenge anyone who's willing to a drinking contest! Anyone that can beat me gets another one of those meals I cooked!" Everyone was silent for a moment. But some quickly started to chuckle. "A woman challenging a ship of sailors to a drinking contest? You may be strong, but drinking should be left to men!"

Five guys immediately started filling their mugs, and Ceres joined in. Though once hers was filled she grinned and looked at Cuttlam. "How about it, captain? Care to join in? As I recall you declined my last meal without even trying it~" The sailors that had eaten the one Cuttlam had declined were still alive and kicking. In fact they had loved it. So at least it was clear that it hadn't been poisoned. Though that was only if one of them could win. There were only three things that Ceres was good at. Stealing, sailing and drinking, her fighting skills still being a work in progress. And she wasn't about to be drank under the table by thugs like these. Cuttlam was her real target. She wanted to see how good her new captain was even at things like these.
Heh, it's fine. :) I don't mind an rp that goes slightly slower. As I said, it might take me up to 4~5 days as well at times. Sometimes real life just gets in the way, or as now, you forget to check.
Ceres sighed when she saw Cuttlam basically ignore her and go off somewhere else with a group of sailors. "Ah well, you've seen him now at least." She spoke to Ace, grinning mockingly. "Believe me now? I met him in prison and busted him out a few days ago. I'll spare you the details, but let's just say after a rough start between us I decided to join his crew." "You were telling the truth, I admit that." The man replied, smiling slightly for the first time. "I guess I'll stick around for now, as things are starting to get interesting."

The two went onto the ship, and Ceres immediately dragged two of the remaining men along with her to the cargo hold. "We've been in a constant rush since we left, so how about we all have a drink? To celebrate Ace joining us of course!" It was just an excuse to drink booze. She loved drinking, maybe a little too much even. Though one mug wouldn't hurt anyone. Or at least not anyone worthwhile. What kind of sailor would you be if you got drunk after just one mug of ale, right? By the time the three returned with two barrels the one doing the painting was also almost done, so he could join in soon after. Now all they had to do was wait for Cuttlam and the gang he brought with his to return.
