Bio

I have been actively roleplaying for around 18 years now, since age 15. Which, as you might have guessed, makes me 33. I've done most of my rping on forums, averaging 2 to 4 paragraphs. Though I also LARP, and have played D&D for about 17 years. Real life has become a larger part of my life though, so my activity has lessened. Even so, I don't think I'll ever stop rping. :)

(Just to make things clear; This world isn't entirely historically accurate in terms of technology. Things like early electricity and fairly advanced metal crafting for ships exist in this world, for instance.)

The barkeep noticed that Octavius almost immediately started loading his gun again. He frowned a little, but let it be. The man was clearly not there to fight. Or at least not at the moment. And a gun wouldn't have much use against him anyway. In fact, he wasn't sure as he had never fought Octavius in the past, but he was sure he could still subdue the man and his crew if needed.

Once the drinks for Octavius were poured he turned to Ceres again. "There's not just a large base on this island, missy. It's also a marine captain's home base. A official no pirate coming here generally wants to mess with." Ceres motioned for another beer to be poured as she thought about the information. Captains usually had jurisdiction over several islands, and all of them were on par with at least her and Ace, if not stronger. That combined with probably a few hundred men under him, and it seemed pretty much impossible to take him on and win. Indeed a very good reason for pirates on the island to keep a low profile. Now she just hoped Octavius didn't get himself into trouble. They needed time to find people for the missing spots in their crew, and she didn't feel like testing their luck against the marines here.

After a while two lights turned on, aimed at the only place in the small bar that didn't have tables or chairs on it. And from the front door entered a man with an instrument. Most people turned their heads to the man and clapped as the man walked to the open space. "Hm, so this is the musician they have..." Ceres mused, glancing back to look for herself. "Don't we still need a musician?" Maybe they could ask him to come. It was unlikely, but if he was good then it was always worth a shot.

(The musician's your guy, so I'll let you do the describing.)
Looks fine to me. :) Hope things will go better soon.
Alakai came walking back to the table after only a few seconds. He had the information he needed, no need to stay and watch. Especially since they were planning to go to bed to start early tomorrow. "You're worried about not being able to die?" Alakai asked, wondering what the problem was. "From what it looks like so far, we're stuck in this world. Since we got here, it's definitely also possible to leave again. But we don't know how yet. So I see it as a very good thing to know that we can't actually die in a world as dangerous as this. At the very least it gives us more opportunity to explore this world, and maybe find out what happened."

He personally didn't mind staying in this world. So far it had been more interesting than his normal life. A shut in no-lifer, living off of welfare, playing games, and being afraid of the world. Doing groceries was always pretty stressful for him. Even that had improved in this world. He was sitting in an inn right now, with a few dozen other people, yet he didn't feel that stressed. "Though to be honest, I could get used to staying in this world..."
"Aye-aye, captain." Ceres replied, looking around the ship to pick two guys to guard the ship for the day. Her first choice was Ace. Anyone daring to try and raid the ship would be met with a swift death if he was on guard. So she went over to him on the other side of the ship and asked. "Yo Ace. We'll be staying here for two days and need some guards. Since half the crew is incompetent, I'll ask you. First or second day guard duty?" The man looked up, then closed his eyes as he had them previously. "I'll take today then." He spoke shortly. Ceres nodded, then found a second crew mate. One of the cronies should be enough, since Ace could probably handle any assailants by himself. Even if they came with a dozen or so.

"Take the day off men! We're staying here for a while!" The woman shouted, making sure everyone could hear. Once that was done she headed to the rowing boat at the back of the ship, along with a few others it seemed. Though she would wait until Cuttlam was ready as well. He was the captain after all. Once everyone was in the rowing boat, and it was lowered, Ceres offered to steer it to shore. She had to train her powers more. Make them second nature. And what better way to to do than starting off with simple things like making a small boat move. She had succeeded with the entire ship as well after all, even if only barely and in a very rough manner.

Once ashore Ceres immediately headed for the small inn. She wanted to know what kind of folk they were dealing with on this island first, and inns were the best place to gather information most of the time. That or stand keepers at the local market. Inside of the inn it was as she had expected. A dozen or two pirates and thugs, and an old looking man running the place. "A pint of ale, barkeep." She spoke as she arrived at the counter, sitting down on one of the stools. "I'm guessing the marines have a large base on this island, judging by where your pub is at?" The man looked at her, frowned a little, but then went to pouring her her drink. "What's a young brat like you doin' 'ere?" The man asked, ignoring her question. Ceres grinned a little bit, pointing behind her. "I'm on his crew. I'm guessing you know who he is..." People of this guy's age usually knew most of the infamous pirates. So she doubted he wouldn't know about the Shotgun Preacher.
"I'll definitely continue cooking." Alakai mused, opening his skill window to look at his cooking skill. "I gained a skill level from cooking like that, so I have a feeling that the skill and real life cooking are connected somehow. Maybe more difficult recipes also require a high cooking skill level or something." The dish he had made at the npc house was a very simple one, so that wasn't good enough of a test to be sure. Once again something that needed further testing in this world.

Just as Alakai wanted to head to bed though, a weak flash of light slightly lit up the sky for a moment. The man immediately turned his attention to the outside as his mind raced on what this could be in relation to the game world. He frowned, unable to come up with an answer for a few seconds before it suddenly dawned on him. "The church! I think someone just got resurrected in the church!" He exclaimed, jumping up and rushing to the door outside. He wasn't the only one that had noticed either. Adventurers from all over town had seen the light, and were quickly spreading the news. "We can resurrect in this world!"
"pepper's house" has readily available gas and a way to pressurise it? That's new to me. :P Also, scuba supply store also destroyed...wouldn't find anything there either. Well, maybe a little bit. As I said, the idea is that such things are very scarce and valuable.

As for gas powered saws, yes a lot more fun. But once again the gas problem. :P Though you could find a few intact cars here and there to power it for a while.
1: Where do you find scuba tanks with everything destroyed?
2: Where do you find gas or freeze orange juice with everything destroyed?
3: How do you pressurize it enough?

The idea behind the whole setting is that weapons like a flamethrower are INCREDBILY rare and valuable. :P Weapons like machetes or axes would be more common. Possibly a rotating saw blade if you can find batteries and a motor and rig it up. (solar panels can always give electricity after all)
Except, how would you get a flamethrower like that? Everything's overgrown or destroyed. Technology to make such material is destroyed. Stores or storages that would have it are destroyed. Etc. You'd have to find a survivor that can make weapons to get something made. That, or you'd have to be lucky to find material and have the knowledge to make it yourself.

But yes, true, napalm or some such would work if it was still obtainable. Then, once you've killed a dozen or two of the enemies with it, and are out of fuel, you're stuck with nothing and still a few billion other plants to kill. :P
Hehe. I thought the same. Not sure how effective a flamethrower would be against a 200 foot long flesh eating sunflower with decapitated heads in place of it's seeds, that's attacking you... But it would be fun. And that example was one of the least dangerous enemies in the comic. :P
I should stop reading chinese web comics. So many interesting premises for rp's... xD

1: An experiment to increase plant growth speed went terribly wrong. Suddenly, within the time of an hour, all plants on the planet suddenly grew to 20~100 times their size, and many of them decided to become flesh eaters as well. Not only that, but bugs were affected too. Now you have to survive in this new world.

2: There is a secret dangerous world of super powers hidden among the normal world. And suddenly, you become part of that world. Only you have to start at the bottom, since you're still weak. Luckily, you got the powers of a 'gamer'. You are now basically a game character that can fight enemies to level up and increase stats, learn magic, master martial arts with ease, etc.

3: An android wakes up after 100 years of sleep, with only one 'order' from it's creator. "You are the key to coexistence, find--" However the memory file is damaged, so the android doesn't remember the entire message. And in those 100 years, a war between androids and humans broke out. So now all androids are seen as enemies.

And there are probably a lot more too. I imagine 1 and 2 could also easily have the characters be 'villains'. >:3 Not that I want to do a new rp or anything! We only barely scratched the surface of our current one. But it's nice to have idea's for the future. ^^
