Bio

I have been actively roleplaying for around 18 years now, since age 15. Which, as you might have guessed, makes me 33. I've done most of my rping on forums, averaging 2 to 4 paragraphs. Though I also LARP, and have played D&D for about 17 years. Real life has become a larger part of my life though, so my activity has lessened. Even so, I don't think I'll ever stop rping. :)

The general plot is that they indeed find a way to return to the normal world. And even better, to 'connect' the two worlds so people can travel between them.

To explain it in a little more detail:
Aliens have come to earth. Only these aliens live in the digital world. When they arrived, they happened to stumble across the elder tale game, and the game going online for the first time looked like an entirely new world was created just as they arrived. So they entered it. However this had unintended side-effects. Part of the physical world, and thus players that were online at the time the aliens entered, got pulled into the world as well. So eventually they find out about the aliens, and that it's possible to go back to the physical world. And maybe to even connect the two worlds through a portal or something.

Also, dying in the fantasy world does have a negative effect. You lose a memory every time you die, starting with the memories from the real world. Could be something as simple as what your room/apartment/house looked like. Or could be as serious as forgetting a family member. Though it pretty much always starts with less important memories. This happens because when you 'die' you get sent to the moon in that world. On that moon, there's a huge lake of some kind filled with memories. And if you want to resurrect, you have to offer a memory of your own to do so. Only you don't remember having been on the moon once you're alive again. And these aliens feed off of those memories as a kind of energy.

I didn´t think of this overarching plot myself by the way. It´s from an anime called "Log Horizon". (I recommend it if you like mmorpg's! :P) What has happened so far in between was mostly my own idea though.
Btw, this rp isn't meant to follow D&D rules. Just a D&D-like setting, you could say. So you can think of whatever skills or weapons you want really.
Heh, level 100 in D&D 3.5...yea... Not just level 9 spells, for the mmo they added level 10 spells and a special tier of spells even above that which are more like skills/supernatural abilities than actual spells. Think spells that you can use once a day, need a full minute of casting, but which leave half a mile wide craters when used. xD It wouldn't not be enough to kill a melee character of the same level, but still!

As for your character...if you're going swords, why not go with two of those buster swords? :P I mean, at that level you'd surely have the strength to wield two of them at the same time.
Guess we'll go with that then. Doesn't really matter in terms of leadership, really. Just...who created certain npc's (since in the game you could create your own npc's for the guild through ingame menu's) and certain details about how my character would act towards yours. Things like that.

Anyway, since you seem to have trouble remembering, I'll quote what I posted about the rp xD :

Anyway, imagine an mmorpg with D&D rules. As in, D&D 3.5 or pathfinder or some such. Not only that, but in that mmorpg the max level is 100. And you have a max level character with top gear. However, one day, you suddenly wake up in a completely different world, and as your character in the mmorpg no less! Your guild with all it's npc's is there, only everyone is alive and a real person now, and the surrounding lands are completely different. And soon you find out that, while this world does know magic, the strength of even the strongest warriors is only comparable to max 30 or 40 in the game. In other words, apart from still being mortal, you've basically become a god in terms of power.

Since you talked about a vampire rp where we would be the bad guys a bit ago, this 'plot' would work well with bad guy characters. Basically, we'd be playing 2 players that were sent to this fantasy world, along with all their items and the entire guild building with all it's npc's. And each of us would be strong enough to take on an entire army on our own. The rp would be more about causing mayhem and taking over the country than any real struggles I guess. But I still think it would be fun! :P

And to quote you on your character:
I will probably stick with one of those swords larger than my character.

Well, that was just about the longest post I've written ever I think. xD Sorry it's so long...I felt I had to write down certain details about what the city and other adventurers had been up to during the skipped week. There's more to it, like some trouble brewing under the surface, but my post would have been a lot longer if I had written it all at once. :P And I figured they would meet their future guild during their trip to the beach. I already have something planned. ;)

So...any ideas of your own you would like to add after they meet what will be their guild? Like, maybe idea's for what happens in the dungeon? Or a quest/small story they come across after that? I mean, I could think of the entire story myself most likely. Plenty of MMO experience for that on my part. But we're doing this rp together after all.
"Ah...it's fine..." Alakai spoke. Though that wasn't exactly true. Once again they would be sleeping in the same room. And he was already nervous about it again. Rather explicit images popped up in his head as he saw Kali get into one of the beds. Swallowing hard he quickly pushed those images away, both for fear of being found out and of not being able to sleep for most of the night again. The man quickly blew out the candles on his side as to not reveal his bright red face to her, then got into the second bed.

---------------------------------------

A full week passed rather quickly. Alakai and Kali kept up with their daily routine of leveling as quickly as possible. Sadly, once they got to the next area at the beach, it was already night. And since they had bought camping equipment, they hadn't been able to spend any time at the beach itself. But there would soon be time for that. Even though Alakai wanted to continue leveling as much as possible, he knew there were benefits to taking a break every now and then. So today, they would be going to the beach on a day off.

This was the perfect time as well. He was level 28, and had learned his threat buff. And Kali had learned a new spell and her healing had become quite a bit more powerful as well. His cooking had now reached the level where his food could give temporary buffs like a bit of hp regeneration, or a slight single stat boost. Which he of course used to give him regeneration, and her a bit more intellect. And Kali's tailoring skill had reached the level where she could make green items. They both had an almost fully crafted cloth set, apart from the chest which was still the same item they had gotten from the quest when they just began. And their weapons were now the ones you got from what used to be the pvp vendor. Their chest armour needed replacing as soon as possible though.

All this had been in preparation for the first dungeon. It was a level 24 to 27 dungeon. So they were ready for it. The problem was finding three other people to join them. Most smaller guilds had been absorbed by the larger guilds by now. 5 huge guilds and 8 fairly large guilds remained, along with a dozen or two small guilds of at most 15 people that kept in the background. The largest guilds had all tried to invite Alakai and Kali, or the wandering duo as people had started to call them. Though all offers had been refused. All those guilds wanted was the duo's reputation. Two people, barely staying in towns and always wandering the lands to train. Not just that, but succeeding in keeping up with the large guilds most likely. To the other adventurers, Alakai and Kali were a kind of prize to show off to others if they decided to join. That, along with Alakai really not feeling comfortable with being part of such a large group, resulted in their current predicament. Either find a guild to join, bet on the very small chance that they could find people for the dungeon without joining one, or giving up on dungeons for now. And Alakai felt that option three wasn't really an option at all.

-------------------------------------------------

As he did every morning, Alakai was meditating on his bed. He had found out that, while meditating didn't seem to give any buffs, it did help his mind keep more calm. Which was rather useful since Kali was still oblivious to him being a guy and her being a girl apparently. At least he had gotten a little bit more used to sleeping in the same room or tent, so he was actually able to get a good night's rest now. Once he finished meditating the man headed downstairs to meet Kali and get breakfast. She was probably already done eating by now though. Alakai had made an arrangement with the inn keeper to share his method for food with actual taste, on the condition that the two of them could eat for free and that it was kept a secret. At least now the whole city could enjoy meals with taste. And the inn had basically become the place to get breakfast and dinner for every adventurer in the city. They had even hired more staff, at the request of adventurers, to open a 'meals to go' section. An idea that was entirely new to the people of the land. So Kali no longer had to wait for him to get breakfast.

Once downstairs he sat at the same table they were always sitting, a bit away from the busy crowd. A special table the owner had reserved just for them as a thank you for sharing Alakai's cooking method. "Morning. Ready for our day off yet?" He asked, looking forward to it himself quite a bit. They always had far too little time to just take in the sights of this magical world. But today it would be different.
Considering how they were gamers playing a virtual mmorpg (complete virtual reality), whom got transported to a fantasy world as their avatars...I don't that would be the case. xD Either might be older than the other. Though my character would probably live longer...
Lol, that sounds less terrible then. But still definitely not my cup of tea. I love camping, but the most I tend to do is a weekend of LARP a few times a year. Which involves a tent, a sleeping bag and mattress, and cooking on a portable stove type thingy.

I did go on a hike during a boy scouts camp once. A day of walking with only what we could carry in our backpacks, making dinner on camp fires we made ourselves with flint and steel, sleeping under a tarp with like 30 of us, and walking back to the camp location the next morning. But that's the 'roughest' I've done pretty much. xD

Also, you talked about wanting to play a fighter with a big ass sword. Guess you'll have plenty of time to think of what to do with that then. :) I'm going with a vampire necromancer I think. Since this setting does allow for vampires quite well. ;) Though I have one question about our characters...which one will be the guild leader? I'm fine with either, it's just that it'll change a few things about my character which I have to keep into account.
Ah, that makes a lot more sense now. I wouldn't want to live in military quarters either. :P And that 'hike' doesn't exactly sound fun. ^^;;
Kevin replied a bit later, explaining that he hadn't heard half of what she had said. Annoying, to say the least, as it meant she had to divert focus on explaining things once again. But there wasn't much you could do about a grenade being thrown at you. "To put it shortly, they're on to what I'm doing but they're looking in the wrong place, and I marked the rifle guy on my HUD. And I feel like I need a distraction of a second or two before I move into position." Mostly because, as soon as they did know where she was, gunfire would be coming her way. And when that happened, keeping relatively calm would become increasingly difficult. And partly because getting shot at was a lot more scary when your opponent was actually trying to kill you. Especially when they had superior fire power.

Zara waited for Kevin to provide said distraction. Considering how he could throw magic around like smoke grenades, she figured that shouldn't be too hard for him. Then as soon as that moment presented itself, the woman once again started sprinting as fast as her legs allowed her to. This time though, she decided to be smart and glance to the side to see if she could spot the machine gunner. At which she partially succeeded. She saw the man moving from his position, but disappearing behind some bushes. This guy was smart, moving positions every time after a few bursts. But it was still better than nothing. Deciding to call it in as she was running, Zara grabbed the radio once again and called it in. "Machine gunner moved further to your right. I lost line of sight though."

Even without Kevin's instructions she knew this meant trouble though. The rifle man was still to his left, even if he was looking for her. Then there was the guy somewhere behind Kevin. And finally the machine gunner who moved to his right. It looked like they were trying to shut Kevin in from all sides.

Finally the vampiress made it to a good spot to flank the one she was after though. Another burst of rounds in Kevin's direction even revealed his location because of the flashes of light. Though he had hidden himself well. One rock just high enough to cover him behind him as he was laying on the ground, and another rock in front of him with just enough clearance to keep Kevin's general area in sight. So Zara still couldn't help. "I'm in position. The guy covered himself though. I can take a shot once he moves again." At which point they would also know where she was...but that was something to deal with once it happened.
