Bio

I have been actively roleplaying for around 18 years now, since age 15. Which, as you might have guessed, makes me 33. I've done most of my rping on forums, averaging 2 to 4 paragraphs. Though I also LARP, and have played D&D for about 17 years. Real life has become a larger part of my life though, so my activity has lessened. Even so, I don't think I'll ever stop rping. :)

Excel's strike missed. Though that wasn't too much of a surprise. This was more an attack to test her abilities, even if he did really aim to wound her. But then she came back with an attack on her own right away. Just one little problem for her though. It had too little magic energy in it to hurt him. And unstable too. So maybe it was an attack she hadn't mastered yet? "Too weak." He spoke, putting his empty hand in front of the fist before it hit him. His hand started to ache, but nothing more. It puzzled him a little bit why she would try to use such an attack against an opponent like him.

The woman started to talk, commenting on his abilities and asking questions. Questions he didn't want to answer. "Yes I am a natural." He spoke, taking a combat stance again. "But I did not come here to talk. I'm guessing there is little time left before only four people are still standing. I didn't want to use this here, but it seems I have no choice. I'll win this fight with my next attack." Then, instead of coming at her right away he put his sword away again. Then dark blue energy started to form around both his hands, like flames dancing on a torch. Then the balls of energy around his hand started to grow larger, until they were twice as large.

"Here I come." He calmly spoke before dashing towards her at blinding speed, dark blue flames of magic energy surrounding his feet. But then, just before he reached her, a loud buzzer sounded. The test had ended, only 4 people were still standing. But Excel couldn't stop his attack any more, so instead he diverted it so it would just pass her. A shockwave of energy blasted past the woman hitting a large boulder instead, causing the surface of the boulder to explode, leaving a 50 cm wide, 10 cm deep hole in the boulder. Then a moment later, an announcement was made. "This is administrator Jobbs. Congratulations to the four of you that are still standing! The preparations for the next test will begin immediately. Your assignment is to team up with the closest other person in the arena. The next test requires teams, so you won't be able to participate unless you have a team mate! You have 1 minute to find a teammate or you'll be disqualified for the next test!"

Excel flinched, then slowly faced the woman he had just been fighting. "It seems this is your unlucky day..."
"You're correct. If you run now, I will chase you." Excel was probably faster than her. When your focus was unarmed combat speed was a very important factor. As you had no way to block attacks. At least, attacks that could go through his defense. As he could use his magic to form a small shield, but that only worked on attacks from opponents that were obviously weaker than him. The woman realized that this fight was inevitable right now, and faced her. What did surprise him a little was that she didn't want to kill him. As far as he knew, at least 90% to even 95% of all people coming to this tower had no problem with killing other participants. Because that was exactly what this tower was. One huge death game.

"Not here to kill? Very well, I shall at least show the same courtesy." Right after saying that Excel stretched his empty hand with dark blue energy flowing from it, out towards her. "Dark magic: Spear!" He called out. The dark blue energy in his hand exploded into a beam that now headed towards the woman. But that was mostly a distraction, even if it was a pretty strong attack on it's own. As right after Excel charged towards Celestia, readying his sword and thrusting it towards her weapon arm. If he could wound her dominant arm he would have basically already won the fight. (Hij slaat dus niet maar steekt. Straight swords zijn meer voor steken dan slaan bedoeld.)

(Technisch gezien zou jou character 'Lanza del Rámpago' kunnen leren. (Ulquiorra's spear .) Want de vertaling is 'Lance of thunder and lightning' :P)
"You don't have to ask her now. But if you'd like to learn first aid so you can treat me if needed, Lemon is the one to go to." Mathias replied. "As for the intruder. Yes, it's a female. The other one that got away was male from what I could tell. I don't know the details about why they came after us yet though. Just that they could only have come from Alexander Leopold Moreau. Someone that has been my rival for centuries, and has also been my personal enemy for the past two centuries. I'll explain more about him later. First Mitchell needs to do his interrogation, and I want to be there as well."

Evon left while Mathias was putting on his blouse again. Mathias headed for Mitchell's cabin and entered. There the intruder was, hands and feet chained to a very heavy metal table that even vampires had trouble moving on their own. Cuffs would likely be too weak, and something like a chair was too light and would break too easily. They couldn't take that risk right now. She was currently still unconscious, though Mitchell was already preparing a very light adrenaline shot to solve that problem.
40 minutes later and the two of them came walking out again. Mathias was the one to call for everyone else. "Everyone! As much as we'd all like to take things slow, it appears that we can't do so any more! All gather in Gerald's cabin in 5 minutes as we're holding the meeting a bit earlier! And Evon, that means you too!" Normally she wasn't allowed to join. These meetings were only for him and his friends. But this was something that also affected her. Quite a bit in fact. So she had the right to at least listen in or offer some thoughts of her own.
Excel was walking towards the area where the woman was fighting. She was doing pretty well for herself it seemed, having taken down two already. And then a third came. What happened next was a surprise though. Lightning...that was definitely magic. Someone that could become a problem later on. And his master had taught him that potential future threats were better taken care of early on before they could grow stronger.

He frowned a little bit, drew his sword and dashed towards her with blinding speed. Also a magic spell, where he let dark blue magic energy flow beneath his feet to increase his running speed. However he wasn't one for surprise attacks. So he stopped just as he came into view of her. "You look like you're pretty strong." He spoke calmly. "I'd rather not have to fight you later on, so..." He pointed his sword at her, his eyes still cold as ever. "I suggest you don't hold back, as I'd like this to be challenging." The blue energy beneath his feet, and now appeared in his left hand and around his sword. He actually wasn't a talented swordfighter. Heck he was even pretty terrible at most kinds of magic. His talent lied in using natural energy magic. But he used a sword either way as it would minimize the amount of deaths he caused while he climbed through the first 10 to 15 levels. Plus it was wise to have several options when fighting.

(Ik dacht, ze moeten eerst maar is met elkaar vechten. Al zal het gevecht eindigen voordat een van de twee verslagen is.)
The countdown ended, and the doors opened. The 'arena' was made of a grassy field with some hills, and a tree or two standing here and there. In total about 200 meters across. But Excel hardly had any time to look at the scenery, as already people started to attack each other. No one came after him yet. That was fine with him. He didn't want to accidentally kill one of them. As in reality most of them were weaklings. Unable to go any higher than maybe the 5th floor. The man calmly walked towards a tree close to the middle of the field, staying out of sight as best as he could. Then he just sat down against it, as if he was taking a rest after an afternoon stroll.

A few seconds after that someone came crashing through a few bushes. It was a woman, just a bit older than him. A shield in one hand and a spear in the other. "I already thought I saw someone sneaking this way~ And look at what a cute boy you are, hm? Too bad I'll have to kill you." Excel sighed, slowly getting up and looking at the woman. "I'll give you one warning. Go fight someone else, as if you fight me you have a high chance of dying." He spoke, glaring coldly at her. The woman flinched for a moment, getting the feeling that she was in serious danger right now. But she quickly shook that thought off. After all, this guy looked like he would be more at home as a farm boy than a fighter.

The woman charged at Excel, screaming loudly and with her spear aimed right at the man. However Excel quickly grabbed his own weapon. A longsword made out of high-grade carbon alloy, normally only affordable by nobles. He pushed the spear to the side at the last second, turning around and slashing her across the back. Excel didn't care whether she would survive or not. If you came at someone with killing intent you shouldn't complain if you died instead. After that Excel walked off again, there was no hiding place in this arena where he could quietly wait the first test out. So he might as well keep on the move.
Heh, okee. Nu nog je eerste IC post! :P
Mathias smirked at Evon's reaction. He thought she was still quite pure, and this only reinforced that thought. Though who could blame you if you had never really been intimate with anyone in that way? The man winched a little bit here and there, as Evon was a bit rough. He could feel that she wasn't practiced in first aid at all. And Lemon would have probably been the better choice. But he preferred Evon doing it anyway. Besides, he was used to field hospitals during the last world war, as he hadn't been injured since then. And they used to be a lot more rough than she was.

"Feels good." He replied with a smile. "You're not really experienced with this though, are you?" He asked with a smile. "It's fine though. If you want to be able to take care of me like this I'm sure Lemon could give you a few courses. As long as Spike isn't there as well she's actually a very caring woman. Hence her being the one that usually takes care of first aid treatment." The man stood and stretched his shoulder a little before nodding. "All right...time to see what our 'guest' has to say for herself. It's quite rude to trespass on someone else's property like that, don't you think?" He spoke in a slightly amused tone. Scouts like these were low ranking grunts compared to Mathias and his friends. So he saw it as nothing more than a nuisance. Though what could follow was another story, since one of the two scouts had managed to get away. "Why not ask Lemon if she wants to teach you a thing or two in the mean time? Mitchell should be done with the interrogation in half an hour or so." Mitchell also had a drug that made it difficult for vampires to keep concentration. Which made it easier to interrogate, and prevented the need to get physical to get information. It could also be used as a 'cannabis for vampires', though none of them would ever use it for that purpose.

Setting:

The world:
Everyone you know lives inside a huge tower. There are several bottom levels for the regulars, and then the 'test' levels where people go to climb the tower.

The Legend:
The story goes that if you open the door to the test levels and you pass the tests given to you by the guardian of the level, you get access to the next level. If you manage to climb all the way to the top it is said that whatever wish you have, it can and will be granted to you. Not only that, but if you want to become wealthy you have to climb too. As the further up you go, the more money everyone has. Or at least, so the story goes.

The tower itself:
The lower 3 levels are about as big as a country. This is where the 'commoners' live. The levels above that are about as big as a city. Each level is different. One can have a desert, another an oasis, and yet another a huge city for instance. But all of them have a testing facility where the tests are conducted. Levels 80 to 99 have the noble families, and each family is ranked by how strong each family's strongest fighter is. The 100th level houses the king, said to be like a god, and his family.

The rules of the tower:
Each level of the tower has a guardian. This guardian has several 'employees' under him. These employees conduct the tests for everyone that wants to climb up. They dictate the rules of each individual test. The difficulty of the test is rumoured to depend on how much the thing you want to find at the top is worth. Though those are only rumours. Fighting outside of the test is usually not allowed.

Magic and powers:
Everyone that wants to climb the tower is given a small ball. This is a magical device that functions as your personal computer. It tells time, you can use it as a phone, you can store any things you have in it like a backpack, and it even comes with an 'invisible mode', meaning it can cloak itself. You start off with a 1 star 'pocket' (the name of the device), and can later buy better ones or ones that you can cast magic with if you have the money for it. Pockets that can cast magic can cast 1 'type' of magic. Attacking, defensive, healing, body enhancement, etc. And lastly the 'naturals'. Magic users that do not need a Pocket to cast their magic. They're rare, but do exist.
Excel took a deep breath. For years he had been trained by a madman named Nova. Or at least that was what he called himself. He apparently used to be a big shot in the tower, causing a lot of chaos as he climbed to the top. People whom decided to go against the rules. To fight the system and try to overthrow it. They were called slayers. And now, Excel would be one himself as well. This system had taken away his two best friends. Not only that, but apparently his family used to be rather high up the tower. But because of corruption from the noble families they were thrown into the bottom three levels. He barely remembered them, as he was only 3 years old when they died. But still...this tower had taken everything away from him. Which was why Nova offered to train him so he could fight against it with his own power.

The first test had been explained only moments ago. There would be a total of 20 participating. There was only one rule really. Only four had to remain standing, and there was no time limit. Those four that would still be standing would be allowed to floor 2. This was only the first test, so it was probably an easy one with many weaklings that came here because of their greed. And now everyone was waiting in separate rooms. Once the door opened they would enter and by a method of their choosing would have to reduce the numbers to only 4. That didn't mean you had to kill the others. Just knocking them out worked too. But Excel wouldn't be surprised if there was at least one killer among them. Probably several. Those people he had no problem killing as well. The others though...if they didn't try to kill him he would only knock them out.

An announcer sounded through a speaker above the door. "5 seconds until the start of the test. All participants get ready."
Name: Excel (No last name)
Age: 19
Magic/powers: He's a natural, and uses energy magic. Energy magic can have different colours. But it is basically just using pure magic energy to attack, rather than shaping it into lightning or summoning a creature. This magic is powerful, however because this magic is so raw it is also usually very hard to use properly. Excel has full control over it.
Items: A longsword and a 1 star 'lighthouse' Pocket, which along with normal functions can also be used as a lantern.
