Recruitment is temporarily closed, yes. Though frankly, I'm worried I may have to open it up again soon because already people seem to have disappeared, as evidenced by the fact that I accepted 13 characters and only 11 people have made posts in the IC so far.
"I'd be willing to try something if you've got any food up there. There's only so long you can eat nothing but corned beef and rice crackers before the taste starts to make you sick. Marcus muttered, knowing that the worst part was he'd run out of rice crackers a couple of days ago. The thought of anything else in the way of food was almost worth risking taking on a horde of the dead for.

"Noise might lure them out, but it also might lure others nearby and we could get stuck in there. You sure there isn't a better way? He muttered, peering around and then up at the apartment building. "Tight corridors, numbers don't count for as much. We could try the quiet approach and just take out any that get too close. Riskier in that we'd be getting closer to 'em, but less likely to bring a whole herd wandering our way."
No worries. It happens.
"Nah.. he looks clean. Well... you know what I mean... Marcus replied, lowering his weapon too. The kid's story made sense. Like everyone in the ruins of the old world, he had just been trying his best to survive.

"That must suck for you, Lee. I'm Marcus. He added, taking Lee's hand and shaking it firmly once, but withdrawing quickly when he realized what the hand was covered in and wiped it on his trousers. "Don't put that shirt back on, but shove it in a bag or something, we'll find somewhere to wash it. Meantime, I've got a spare t-shirt you can wear.

With that, Marcus holstered his revolver (or rather, he safetied it and stuck it down the back of his trousers) and then began rooting around in the bottom of his pack for the spare clothes he kept. Luckily, it looked like the boy was more-or-less the same size as him, so his clothes should fit okay.
Apologies, been a busy couple of days and I haven't had my laptop with me much. I have posted now though.

Here's a quick question: Obviously, once we all group up I'll use my IC posts to write about things which are happening to the group for ya'll to react to, but in this pre-meetup period shall I do the same for the individual groups, or should I just write about the big events in my IC posts and let you guys find your own way to begin with?
Although Marcus usually preferred to keep a polite head on his shoulders when it came to other survivors, he approached David and the unidentified man with his revolver drawn and slightly raised. The boy was young, probably in his late teens or early twenties, but dwarfing the much older David in height. The kid looked scared, understandably so, and Marcus didn't want to frighten him any further but there was an element of risk involved: The boy was covered in blood and smelled like death, and if he'd recently been fighting off the walkers there was always the possibility of a bite.

"Sorry to have to do this to you, kid, but we're going to need you to take that shirt off and give us a twirl. Nothing personal, just checking for bites." He said to the boy, trying his hardest to not sound too threatening. He figured he would follow up with a question to get the kid talking. "The hell happened to you, anyway? You look like you've been dragged through a hedge backwards."
Ah, I see. Sorry Totts. I neglected to mention that Note, Larceny and I had arranged via PMs to start the RP with Marcus and David coming across Lee huddled over in the street. At the end of my post I wasn't really opening it up for anyone to jump in, more tagging in Note to write the next bit of our previous discussed introduction.

You will, therefore, need to re-write or at least radically edit your first post in the IC. Sorry about that. In future I'll try and make it more transparent when I have a specific thing planned with someone. I'm not usually in the habit of bubble RP and the majority of my tags will be open ended (which is to say, free for anyone to jump in on) it's just that one specifically which wasn't.

I don't think this is the place to be expressing your opinion on gun rights.

Agreed. Besides, as a Brit myself I happen to know that there is no way for a resident of the UK to chime in on the very complicated issue of US gun control without sounding either A) ignorant, B) condescending, C) like an idiot or D) all of the above.

It seems very easy to point a wagging finger at our friends across the pond and attempt to show them the error of their ways. The only problem is that all this serves to do is piss them off.

We're going to have a constant cast of 14? Plot twist right 'dere. When any of us die I assume we'll come back as a new character, so there will usually be a large amount of survivors in the group. Do you have planned periods of time when the group is low on members?

Not really. I've run enough RPs in the past to know that at least two or three people will drop out over the course of the first few weeks, so eventually I imagine the numbers will drop down to around where I'd want them to be anyway. That's not me hoping to get rid of people, just talking from several years of experience both running my own RPs and as a member of other people's.
So.. I decided to be a lazy bugger and just accept everyone.

You 'eard! You're all in. Everyone that has posted a CS in this thread up to this point is in. Anyone else can bugger off, 'cus recruitment is temporarily CLOSED.

Feel free to post in the IC at your leisure, but please do remember different time zones so don't rattle off seven posts in the space of a couple of hours or people will get left behind.
