Athalia Academy: Season Two - Finding Bael

Darwin just grinned at his best friend Ryuu-san. Darwin looked around at all the other people and then quickly slipped a manga out of his sleeve and sneakily slipped it into Ryuu's hand. "It just got delivered this morning, shush!" He whispered before turning around with a mad grin. "OOOOH! I love shooting stuff! Can you pass me a gun Ryuu? I can't wait to get like heaps and heaps of bullseyes!"

Stephen was actually really impressed by the girl jumping down from the tree and landing cleanly and smoothly on two feet. He was pretty sure he'd never seen a girl do that before. But he also felt like he kinda had to do whatever she said, cos she was 2 years older than him, so he couldn't do what he wanted to do. Maybe Rai was right, he would be better on his own, having a 17 year old boss him around was a bit annoying but he could learn to live with it. But he couldn't help but notice she was a bit smaller than him and a little smirk appeared on his face.

"Hey um Steve, you smell that? Doesn't smell good..." Rai appeared on his shoulder tugging on his shirt. There was a puff of purple smoke around her as she frowned at the rain. He simply ignored her as he stared in disbelief as he was told he was late, and being called just Jelly? No one ever called him just Jelly, not even Rai, she called him Steve. But Jelly....this was a new one. And he was sure he wasn't late, he had tried to be on time with all he could, maybe she just hadn't noticed him. Or maybe Rai had slowed him down. He didn't like being late and technically she was his new boss, that meant he kinda had to be on time. He frowned at the ground, damn, that was a great first impression. "Oh, um sorry. I didn't mean to be late." He said nervously with a tiny stutter. He noticed she had just walked past him so he quickly shook his head and followed after her while Rai giggled in his ear.

But as he walked after her, he nticed the rain was going all splodgy and weird, and it did not look natural. "N-nice to meet you Cara.." He said as he stopped and observed the rain while Rai just stared at it from the safety of the red haired boys shoulder. "Smells like demon Steve..." She muttered causing him to groan. Then from one of the puddles of goo, a small ball of spikes and teeth rose with two sharp red eyes. "OH my god it's so cute!" Rai shouted as Steve just stared at it. "Um Cara....we've got a problem." He called after her with a near terrified voice.

Annoying...that's what today was. A huge pile of annoying stuff. Steve loved staying inside and talk to Rai, it was where he could gather his thoughts and ideas. At home, even when he was sent outside, he would climb up to his treehouse to get peace from the world outside. He couldn't argue with his parents this school was alright, nice place for him to just relax and discuss stuff with Rai. But now he was being forced to goutside and meet his new 'partner' for Scouting? That was just a pain...nothing more. For a start, most people found Steve to be weird and strange, since he always seemed out of it and whispered stuff under his breath, when in realityn he was talking to Rai or listening to her advice. But secondly, Stephen hated making social encounters, so he usually chose to try to get out of them by making up an excuse like he had been chased by a polar bear or 'sorry, i gotta go. My dad's rain dance is away to start'.

"Ugh, why do we even have to have a partner, Stevey? We're already a fully functioning team!" Rai complained swinging her little legs on his shoulder as he opened the door to the 'great' outdoors. A cold gust hit him as the door opened and Rai frowned once more as one of her purple flames flickered. "Sure we can't just drop out? This girl's like 2 years older than you! They shoulda got someone your age. And an archer? Oh PLEASE! They're just boring people who shoot arrows. As if that's special!" Steve laughed at his familliar as he quickly made his way towards the tree he was to meet his partner at. His red hair was getting all caught by the wind and that made him even more annoyed so he had to stop t try and get it back into shape. As he did so he sighed, "I don't like this as much as you do Rai, but we kinda have to or we go back to my crazy parents...or do you want that?"

Rai stopped swinging her legs for a second and then burst into laughter, "Oh Steve, you crack me up!" Steve laughed as well as he got up and dusted off his shirt just in case it was dirty. He didn't want to meet his new partner, but he wanted to look good for it, that was another one of Rai's lessons. Always look good when you go meet girls. But again this was the great mind that came up with 'worms are actually cursed humans'. Again...Stephen had tried to get out of having a partner, by claiming Rai was his partner, but she was a demon and he was a tamer so he was froced to pair up with an 'archer'. He was pretty sure the girl was gonna be an obnoxious sharp shooter who had no care for her partner because he was a 15 year old, red haired boy who hung around with a demon. Finally he found the tree he had agreed to meet her.....no way was he going to manage getting up the tree.

Rai giggled and punched Steve's shoulder playfully. "She's probably gonna shoot an arrow in your head Steve, just wait for the sound of string being released!" SAhe giggled again and siappeared into Steve's tatoo on his shoulder causing him to blush. Looked like he was on his own...to meet a girl who could kill him in two seconds. "Um...hey!" He called out to the tree where he saw his partner. The wind was cutting into his face so he moved closer to get cover. "I-I'm your new partner...I think...." He shook his head. "I mean---I'm the tamer, Stephen Jelly. Nice to meet you." Right now all he could hear was Rai's mischevious laughs at his wakwardness.

Physical Capabilities: Steve isn't that physical at much, but he can fight pretty good if forced to. He bruises easily and can be hurt really easily too. When he gets knocked down he can just get back up...but then again he will probably get beat down again. He could easily knock out a...girl with one of his punches. But he can also run really quick as well, and I mean pretty fast. But then again, he's not very observant so he could get tripped up quite good too. Not only that he's pretty sneaky and silent when he walks or runs unless he burps. He can be quite smart when it comes to confusing people and is a master at forming traps and plans. This makes him rather slimy and loves to talk his way out rather than fight his way out.

Background Info: Steve was always considered....a 'different' kid. He was born in Ireland to a couple who just wanted a normal family. But with Stephen, there was no way for there to be a normal family. By the age of 5, he hated hanging around outside, or making friends with any of the other kids. His parents never talked about him, when they were asked such questions like "How was he?" They just said he was fine. He was though! He loved hanging in the garden in his special tree house. By the age of 10 his parents considered he might have problems and he was always talking to his imaginary friend in the tree house. Whenever they came up, he would say she didn't like them. But soon his parents confronted him about it and he said "Her name is Rai". By the time he was 12 they took him to therpay where the doctor diagnosed him as deranged until Rai appeared before him in a burst of purple fire.

Stephen met Rai when he was in his garden and gave himself a purple tatoo to summon her with. Ever since then she was his best friend...although sometimes whispered bad advice in his ear. She giggled at the doctor and told him, "I'm a demon stupid!" Before disappearing again into Steve's tatoo. His parents propperly freaked out and sent him to the academy.
