Violet frowns when he says this. "No never dark and light," she snarls. She sighs, realizing her sudden outburst of anger was uncalled for. "You have to understand. Most powers have opposites. Mine is light or a light bender of some sort. They are the people who can take you done the easiest and kill you the fastest. Light would overpower me, causing me to use up my vial and the rest of my shadow." Violet sighs again. "What you have to understand is that my entire life force is balanced on my shadow. As soon as my shadow disappears, I do too."

Violet chuckles. "It's fine. I understand how excited you are. I would be excited too if I got the thing I wanted most." She watches him swing the sword. "That, you will find, is a very good sword. I learned that trick back on the streets. I need something to defend myself and when a gun wouldn't do, I decided to go with a sword." She looks down at the ground, a little embarrassed. "I taught myself how to use it when I was younger. I did a lot of damage with it. I think a little more than I should. I took out two windows and nearly killed a cat." She smiles sheepishly.

A muscle in her jaw jumps. "You may call me Captain and only Captain. Nothing more, nothing less. None of you will know my real name, nor get the chance to know my real name. Now, TK, since you graciously volunteered, we're going to have a show and tell of our powers and you will be going first." She steps back and gestures to center floor for him. She watches him like a hawk and draws out a knife from an arm sheath, twirling it between her fingers.

She giggles and draws out her vial. She moves her hands over it and draws a decent amount of shadow from the vial. She then caps the vial and tucks it back under her shirt. She began to manipulate it with her hands until she made a sword. She pauses and hands him the sword. "Here. It will last as long as you need it to. Just don't put it in direct sunlight. That will make it completely dissolve." She smiles at him.

If his dampener is removed, he will most likely die form his brain frying its self. Also his powers are limited by the will of his targets, as thoughs who strongly believe in their reality canot be affected by his. He also canot say more then two words at a time.History: ethereal dose not know who he truly is. All he knows is that he was a subject for the culling progect, which was attempting to creat spies able to remove secrets from the flimsy cages that are the mind. he was one of many test subjects who where tested for culling, but mooing the few that tested positive for augmention. Among the hundred or so subjects, moste of them died from overloading, and others where two weak. However by the time that ethereal was augmented, a psionic dampening helmet was created. As he left the augmenting room, they slammed the helmet on, keeping him alive, making him the first successful test subject. This earned him the number s1 and the code name ethereal, however it costed his memories. To make things worse, they soon discovered that his powers cause echos in his mind, disallowing him to speak.Realizing that he was more or less useless, they removed him from the project. He now wanders New York City in a red robe, hiding his disfigured body.Appearance: Other: United

The only thing Umi wasn't afraid of was her necklace. She would often hold it to calm her down. Umi had terrible grades, not because she wasn't smart but simply because she couldn't pay attention. At home Umi would accefentaly subject her family to their worst fears. Her family shut her out and so Umi spent more and more time in alleys away from people. She began to stop thieves who crossed her with her power. It was then at she started to help her city from the shadows, warning her the nickname 'Nightmare'. I don't know what NPC villains means, but I originally didn't set out to makes this a Heroes vs. Villains thing.

The woman looks around at them. "Yes, I realize that it would be difficult to get rid of all evil here." She stares the man down. "Evil always stays, which means we will always be here. It becomes born again and it always renewed. No matter what we do, there will always be evil." She gives a soft mysterious smile. "But we can at least slow evil's pace down enough to where we can almost halt it in its tracks. We will not destroy it forever; it will always come back, but what we can do is get rid of as much as we can now and be an emblem for those in the city too afraid to stand up for themselves." She turns to the man who asked if she would lead them. "I will be leading you. If anyone has a problem with that, then you can just leave now. I will also not tolerate any smart ass comments that are made toward me or anyone else in the team." She stares them all down, looking pointedly at the Candy King and John when she says the last sentence. "If you have a problem with anyone on the team, you come to me. If I get a problem with you..." Her voice fades. "Let's just hope I don't get a problem with you."

Leo turns to face this woman. She gives an inspirational speech and once she is done, he immediately thinks of his old sensei. She sounds almost exactly like he did when he was teaching him and his brothers. He smiles once she finishes and crosses his arms across his chest, looking around for anyone else to make a comment.
