Ren had begun to observe everyone who had arrived before her when she noticed the boy standing in the doorway she had just entered. She didn’t recall seeing him on the way, and certainly didn’t remember seeing any movement in that direction. It was as if he had just…appeared.

“Now that everyone has arrived, we can finally depart.”

Ren was taken aback when he paused for a moment to shoot her a very nasty look. She felt her face heat up before looking away quickly. A mix of embarrassment and annoyance shot through her. She wasn’t exactly sure, but Ren was pretty positive that this boy was not pleased with her arriving a minute late. She waited to be reprimanded, but breathed a sigh of relief when he changed the subject.

As she listened to him speak, her eyes found their way back up to the door. After he introduced himself as Kentarou Hanade, a fourth year student, she noted the obvious difference in his uniform compared to the other boys in the room. Kentarou was wearing black as opposed to the light tan. Dread washed over her when he also informed them that they were all one week late due to “cyber terrorists.” This also made her very nervous. Why were there people targeting the school she was about to attend? And how in the world was she going to catch up after missing a whole week of school?

"...your student card can be found within the envelope. Your rank is listed at the front of the card. If you believe you have been ranked inaccurately, you are free to rise up on your accord through the shuffle matches. Either that or you can wait patiently for the reclassing in three months."

Just like Kentarou’s mysterious entry, an envelope that had not been there before appeared on the table. Ren blinked a few times to make sure she wasn’t hallucinating and then gave the boy at the doorway a curious look. She tried not to let her wariness get the best of her and once he left, she retrieved her own student card like everyone else.

Ren raised her eyebrows when she found that her ranking was B-class. She was pleasantly surprised although she had secretly taken a peak at some of the other cards. A few other people were in the same rank as her, and she was pretty sure the only A-class was the strange looking girl who held a stuffed rabbit. Ren glanced at her for a moment and noted the very blank expression on her face. It unsettled her a bit, as everyone else had begun to converse with one another, but Ren shook the feeling off. Everyone in the room seemed nice enough with the exception of the blonde boy sitting in a dark corner by himself. He just looked like he wanted to be left alone.

She was content to just sit and ponder what to think of the allowance given to her. It was yet another sweet surprise as Ren had never had that much money on her. Just as she was pondering what she could even spend it on, a voice to her right pulled her out of her thoughts.

“Um… Hello. My name is Kanzen Tadashi. That was quite the opening speech, hm?”

She looked at him. Ren noticed earlier that she was sitting next to a boy with a gun attached to his thigh and she still didn't know what to make of it. He had a very friendly face even though his long hair covered most of it. She could still see one green eye peaking out at her.

She smiled awkwardly.

"Hi. Uhhh...I'm Ren," she laughed a little. "But I guess you already knew that, right? Are you as a lost as I am right now?"
Gosh, sorry for being so inactive. My work schedule was super crazy this weekend so I mostly slept in my free time. But I'm making a new post right now!
Ren had not realized how huge yachts were in real life. She wasn’t even sure if she had even knew what they looked like before now. The word had always been associated with millionaires who owned even larger mansions. But as the giant, spotless white boat came into view from the taxi she was riding in, Ren was sure it could not be mistaken for anything else.

Going against her wishes, Ren’s mother had given her enough money for the taxi ride to the address of her destination. And although the school had included information of an allowance for all students, her grandmother had given her some “emergency” cash. This had only caused Ren to feel even worse about going away. She knew her family members couldn’t afford to give any kind of hand out. So she was determined not to spend it on anything but an actual emergency.

Once the taxi was parked as close to the yacht as it could, Ren paid the driver and thanked him for his services. She walked cautiously towards the dock with her suitcase in hand a small knapsack thrown over her shoulder. As she approached the large boat, she noticed a formally-dressed man waiting at the entrance. He greeted her with a polite smile.

“Hayashi Sama?”

“Uh, yes,” Ren said. “How did you know?”

“Well, you are the last student to arrive.”

Ren felt heat rise to her cheeks as she began to stutter, “Oh, jeez…I-I’m sorry, I d-didn’t know-”

“No worries, miss.” The man said kindly as he took her suitcase. Ren shook her head politely as he tried to take her knapsack, opting to keep it close to her. The man ushered her onto the yacht and then to the lower deck, eventually arriving at a large room. There was one, round table filled with unfamiliar faces. Ren was even more embarrassed.

She cleared her throat, and introduced herself. “Hello, I am Ren Hayashi. Uh, nice to meet all of you.”

All da activity +_+.Aoife and Able are accepted. Welp, I'm off for dinner and a movie so I'll get a post up when I'm back in a few hours. It will mostly be about interacting with the rest. The people who have to post are Shadylady and Potato+Santa who just got accepted. I'll give you guys till Sunday, 6pm GMT-8 to get your characters to the conference room before the briefing starts. No need to worry though, if you can't post by then we'll have your characters travel to the academy by an alternate route; I just don't want to keep everyone waiting when introductory posts have flexibility in them.

I am writing my post right now!
I'm so excited for this to start!
Hey, I can put up a guy too! I already have one character out though, but if we need some more male specimen I'm up for it! Haha
Sounds interesting, I might join

Name: Ren Hayashi
Date of Birth: 15 October 1997
Gender: Female

Personality: Ren has always kept to herself. She’s not very loud and never speaks unless she is sure of herself, due to her habit of stuttering when she is embarrassed. Although she's naturally a quiet person, she is also very witty, clever, intelligent, and kind. Normally she's a very polite and patient person but can become irritated easily by the right person (or the wrong person I guess). She's normally lost in her thoughts and is often observing other people.

History: Since her father left before she was born, Ren was born to a single mother. To this day she has never met her father. When she received the letter from Zandore Academy, she was living with her mother, grandparents, aunt and uncle and their children. She shared a room with her obnoxious cousin who detested Ren. Although she cares a lot about her mother, she decided to leave the house so that she wouldn’t have to worry about Ren as much.

Subject: Alchemy/Magic/Tactics/Assassination

Preferred Housing: West View

Unique Factor: Illusions. Ren would often practice her power on the cousin she shared a room with, and found that she could create many different illusions by concentrating hard enough. She could make herself seem invisible, or even cause her cousin to have a thirty-minute conversation with a friend that never even called her. Although she has a difficult time controlling it and creating clear illusions, her ability becomes more a little more powerful with every illusion she creates.

Name: Joselyn “Josie” Atkins

She grew up in a fairly normal household, but often found herself wanting more than what her average home life could give her. Josie could be described as an adventurous, intelligent, creative, and friendly girl who usually hangs out with the more relaxed kids in Theatre. Her closest companion is her little brother, a first year student who is having trouble fitting into a group.

Why you need the job: Josie’s dream is to go to a renowned art school, and so despite the fact that she already has one job, she needs another to save up for tuition fees.
