This can be the case yes. Though Machinas still retain some of their organic parts internally, they may change their physical appearance on the outside. For example you may see a Machina with digitigrade like legs or an forearm replaced with a scythe (though as cool as that one sounds, its probably not so great in a practical sense).

I must not be here today, that and the constant refreshing to load a page (leading to unnecessary posts...) doesn't help either so my apologies for the delayed response.
Given the available technology (which will be later explained in the full RP), it is possible have a body like that. It may not fulfill all the behaviors as a full organic body but it should suffice based on what you are going for.
