Luanne continued her work, methodically going from car to car, rapping on them, and inspecting them. This was something she could do, at least. It didn't require thinking, social engineering, or even diction. Car, tap, look, car, tap, look.

Luanne's ears perked up at Selena's mention of her sister, and the girl stopped for a second to look back.

"Yup, she's 'bout the smartest kid around. Prob'ly the smartest y'all ever seen," said Luanne, glowing with pride. She didn't know much about intelligence, but at the very least she knew that her sister was smart. She used to be a little jealous, but had since figured out that she had her own good qualities. Qualities that had really helped them out so far in these crazy times. Qualities that were finally a little useful.

Just then, she heard David call out and immediately went to inspect the car. She rapped on it a little, searched the front, and cautiously opened up the back door; keeping her bat pointed inside defensively at an arm's length. She peered inside, and saw that it was unoccupied.

"Clear," she called out, immediately taking a seat in back and turning to David.

"Now, yer gonna wanna take th', uh, that one road. With the daggerm... with the place. It gots th'... y'know what? Ask Dottie."
"I..."

Luanne would likely have continued her verbal assault in the midst of a zombie apocalypse if Dot hadn't pleaded with her. She would also have said something exceptionally rude and laced with profanities if her sister hadn't made with a quick, concise introduction. An introduction that Luanne took to mean 'Please stop talking now before you say something everyone will regret'. Thus, she bit her lip.

Luanne still didn't trust these folks, and was fairly certain that they were lying, but she supposed that Kate and David seemed nice enough. David had saved that little boy from the store, and Kate slapped Selena when she was yelling at her.

"How's a girl have a baby with another girl, though? Can they even marry each other? Why would two girls marry?"

These thoughts occupied Luanne's mind as she looked around for cars with the keys still in them. At least none of these folks knew how to hotwire one of the things, because that would tell her to stay right away from them. She rapped gently at the window of each car with her bat to make certain there were no walkers inside before moving to the next one, making sure to check each thoroughly. Thankfully most of the zombies had moved around to the front of the store, but because of the gunshots more would likely come from all over soon. The screaming yankee bitch was right; they needed to find a ride.
Yeah, you can slap her. But she's really angry right now, and will probably pay her back soon if not immediately.
Luanne covered her ears as Dot fired blindly into the crowd of walkers. By the time she was done, even more started coming for them and Dot had run away. She wouldn't blame her sister, as the girl was weak, but it occurred to Luanne that protecting her was going to be a tougher job than she had first imagined.

"Dammit Dottie, how'm I s'posed ta protec'chu if'n y'all go runnin' off like ya do?!"

Most of the other group had already run after her sister, and things were about as fucked as they could get in the pharmacy, so Luanne followed suit, swearing as she went. She just wanted to wake up, have a bowl of grits, and head off to school. She wanted to, but she couldn't. It was frustrating and nauseating and she was angry as Hell. When she reached the group near the back door, she brandished her baseball bat at them menacingly.

"You stupid sons o' bitches," she announced to the two women who were already there, "Everythin' was goin' fine 'til y'all showed up! You got any idea what'chu did, breakin' our burricade? Dern near killed us! Hell, might still kill us if'n we don't get outta hurr. Where the fuck is m' gatdam comp- comper- m'damn com-pants-station!?"

As far as Luanne was concerned, these damn yanks could just stay back and beat off the deadies until she and Dot were safe and sound. Who the Hell did they think they were?
Anya had begun playing in Elric's study, in what was perhaps an attempt to get him to pay attention to her. Her papa told him to watch over her, after all, and he wasn't even watching a little. He was doing something else, perhaps involving haircuts because there was a lot of haircut stuff. Or saws, because she saw those around too. Maybe he was a lumberjack.

When a strange man she didn't know entered the room, the simply gazed at him with her big red eyes. He told her to be quiet, and though she was a good girl, could not oblige.

"Mister Elriiic," she called out, "There's a strange man in your study, and he says he's nice, but papa told me that people who have to call themselves nice usually aren't actually very nice and he's a STRAAANGER!"

She began to grow panicky. Strangers were usually bad! A stranger turned her into a vampire, after all. What if this man was a vampire too? She hoped papa would come back soon, because Elric was not doing a very good job of watching her.
"Shit," thought Luanne as the group turned around. There went the element of surprise, but the trio was still caught in the middle. She wouldn't let them try any funny business, and the shotgun remained on the group even as one of the women was revealed to be pregnant. Bad people could have babies too, and at the moment Luanne didn't trust a single goddamned soul to be looking out for anything but themselves. That's how the sisters got as far as they had.

Luanne stepped out of the way, gun still trained, as the male went to open the door as ordered. It was a good idea to make the others do it, but Luanne personally didn't want to open up at all.

"Yer too dern soft, Dottie," she muttered under her breath. When the crying boy stumbled inside, however, she bit her lower lip, slightly ashamed. They all appeared to be having a very maternal moment until the doors were finally pushed open and the walkers started pouring in. Luanne made a dash for the counter where her sister was still seated, and crouched, drawing the metal baseball bat she had looted from her backpack.

"You get behind that counter now, y'hear Dot? I'll bash in the head of any o' them dead sons of bitches what try to get near."

Luanne gulped. She'd already beaten a few of these things dead again, but she was still incredibly frightened and it remained hard to be so brave for her sister. This fear cemented itself in her heart and forced her to quake when she heard the boy who had run off earlier to get some medicine cry out.

"Shit," she thought again. She really did hope the kid would be alright, but she had to tend to her own now. Protecting Dot was all that really mattered, and anything that improved their chances was welcome. She'd let the three newcomers fend for themselves at the front, and only really concentrate on stragglers that threatened she or her sister.

As if to test her resolve, one of the dead, apparently attracted to Luanne's running, split from the group and bolted after her. Her arms still trembling, the took the metal bat to its head when it got near and sent it flying with a sickening wet metal-on-skull crack. She began breathing heavily as her heart raced.

Ahhh I already edited the post. I really hope this fixes any problems. It was totally my fault. I misread. Once again sorry about that.

Yes, it's just fine now. I'll likely type something up soon.
No, it's no problem really. Thank you.
No, no, that's no problem at all. You could certainly have caught her when you turned around, before she was able to conceal herself. Entirely understandable, and completely plausible. It's just that the group seems to have noted two girls before that point, as if they were both out in the open. I really don't mind her being discovered, but the point of discovery seems a little vague.

So me and Apoalo just finished the collab and I posted it and I totally enjoyed it. Hope you guys like it too ^.^. We left it pretty open so Xenonia and Shisa could respond.

It's fine for the most part, I think, but Luanne slipped in behind Selena, Kate, and David and pointed a shotgun at their backs while their concentration was on Dot. She also would have tried to go back into hiding after she heard Callum banging on the door so as to stay hidden, but I didn't post as much so it's entirely possible she was discovered then. Probably not before, though.

I really wanted to see how the three would react when they turned around to see an identical girl with a shotgun pointed at them.
