Name- Ashem "Ashe" Grandhelm
Age- 25
Gender- Male
Race- Human
Occupation- Prince
Appearance- [I really wanted something in a fancy Medieval style suit, with glasses... just because... but damnit, the one time I actually look for something like that, Can't find one XD So i'll make due with THIS!]

Personality- Ashe tends to put himself off as a 'stereotypical prince', putting on the air of a haughty noble with Ideas of granduer, which is part of why it was shocking that he turned down succession. Those close to him, mainly family or trusted members of the castle staff, Know this to be an act on his part, giving the people a typical seemingly useless prince to see, while behind the scenes he is not only a much more pleasant 'friend' to have, but also a skilled manipulator... There are many 'rumors' about him that he expertly dodges, rewords, or turns against said rumor spreader.

It's rare that he shows his true feelings about something to anyone but a 'trusted individual', that is to say, not all family is trusted, though he has always played the 'big brother' to his younger sister, Aribelle. That said, he still has a mysterious element of unfathomability about him, a trait he has nurtured purposefully due to his 'secret love of secrets' and the advantages they can pose.

Magic- Publically he is known to 'study' magic for the purposes of knowing how to fight it to better protect the kingdom, there are rumors about him actually being capable of 'using' magic, rumors which he has kept unconfirmed, mostly because it cannot be proven unless the accusor is able to use magic to prove it.

Secretly, he most certainly 'can' use magic, and is both fascinated and frightened by it's potential, using this as a drive to learn ways to counter magic users, as well as to give his kingdom knowledge both of how to defend itself from magic, as well as understand the difference between a good and bad magic user.

Abilities-

Weaknesses-

History- (What they were up to before the start of this roleplay. You can make up your own town names or whatever as needed)

As the eldest male sibling, Ashe was 'expected' to take the throne, and this led to him being raised on preparations to some day rule the kingdom. His child-hood was puncuated with frequent lessons in anything considered courtly, noble, or simply expected of a king, and there was enough to easily fill a decade worth of pushy learning expectations and training regimes with plenty left over for the next. Oddly, around his teen years, he started demanded his teacher or trainer not coddle him for being a 'young prince' or the 'heir to be', he seemed to develop an understanding from at that age that his life belonged to the kingdom and not himself, and through this understood that the typical royal pampering would only make him a weaker leader in the future.

Of course, all good rulers require a certain skill-set in order to lead well, amongst these skills is the ability to manipulate, and perhaps through some long repressed rebellious phase he eventually sought a method to make his life 'his own' and make serving the kingdom a 'choice' instead of a requirement. Imagine the king's surprise when he approached him with a request to 'study magic'... Naturally this seemed an unacceptable request, less because it involved magic and more than it involved the 'prince' asking to study it, yet he mysteriously waited with a coy grin on his face until his father had been done trying to disuade and simply elaborated 'No father, I said I 'want' to 'study' magic, not employ it. when i become king, i cannot protect it against something I have no knowledge of."

It was as simple a statement as any, but the logic of it shattered the moment, it was true, a king could hardly judge how to defend against something that was a complete mystery... but more importantly, the tone that ashe had used made it clear he was going to do it anyway, this was more of a formal notification that gave his father an oppurtunity to spin it in favor of the crown, rather than have him discovered as a closet wizard at a later day and crush his viability for being a leader. This was essentially Ashe's first moment of actually manipulating the course of his own life by 'his' choice.

After that, he seemed to become more and more capable of making it 'his life' without seeming that he was being selfish or turning away from the kingdom's future needs, he's supposedly found the 'sweet spot' where he could enjoy life and use himself to make a better future for the kingdom as well. Nobody expected he'd actually turn down the succession when the time came, perhaps he'd just gotten to used to his current status quo and didn't want it upset without 'actually' coming to rule, or perhaps there's some other motive behind it that he dares not share with the public.

Either way, it happened, he turned down the succession and pledged to help his little sister make the kingdom a better place in any way he was capable... at time he didn't make it clear 'which' little sister he was reffering to, but he made it sound as if he mysteriously 'knew' which one would take the throne.

This aside, he has dug himself deep into the kingdom's secrets as best he can, quite intent on knowing about as much as possible to best plan how to handle things. as well, he has 2 mysterious close 'friends' that he meets with on a daily basis 'at least', and to this day many of the guards wonder why they never see the pair entering or leaving the castle outside the company of the prince, though he tends to simply refer to them as Corvus and Mirum. He has also taken to wearing 2 personal rapier's on his person just about anytime, even with 'fancy versions' for formal affairs that don't specifically demand they be removed.

These 2 are mainly going to do nothing in the RP unless their specific skill sets i have in mind come into play =3 it may very well never even happen XD but just consider them NPC's for the time being.

Name- 'Corvus' "Cor"
Age- ?? Looks to be in his 20's
Gender- Male
Race- Human
Occupation- 'Confidant' of Prince Ashe, subject to update
Appearance-

Personality- He tends to put himself off as a friendly and smiley individual with a skill and love for birds.

Magic- Unknown [but probably XD]
Abilities- The only actual skill he's displayed publically is an unusual aptitute for bird calls and 'signals', though it's speculable that he's quite the diplomat due to his pleasant demeanor.

Weaknesses- Unknown [don't worry, there's some XD]

History- Nobody knows, aside from that he meets with the prince on a very frequent basis.

Name- 'Mirum' "Rum"
Age- ?? looks closer to his 40's
Gender- Male
Race- Human
Occupation- 'Confidant' of Prince Ashe, Subject to update
Appearance-

Personality- He often mirror's Corvus' pleasant demeanor, though he's a bit less 'friendly' and much more 'indiscriminately flirty', a bit rogueish even... though after a few blazing glares from her 'big brother' he began to refrain from doing so around the new 'queen to be'.

Magic- Unknown [But Probably XD]
Abilities- The main skills he's shown off are with being rather skilled at making other people enjoy themselves, he's even known to have organized a small party in the castle once, on behalf of the prince of course!

Weaknesses- Pretty people, hint hint.

History- Again, nobody knows, aside from that he's very frequently seen with the prince.

Looks like this RP is ready to start. It's a shame Stranger and didn't show up. Shoryu might still turn up, cause according to his profile he just hasn't been online the past 2 days. Stranger's been posting elsewhere though, so i guess he found something more to his liking.Anyways, seeing as there's a whopping 14 characters already, i'm just gonna sit back for now and see what develops. *eats popcorn*

don't you check the pms? >.> I posted in the group pm that the GM added everyone to >.>
Hmmm, the 'lieutenant' could be a favored 'whipping boy' of the eldest prince [Who i'm going to be making once there's a CS and more details to work with] =3 that is to say, someone he 'spars with' on occasion and seems to use to show off, but ultimately is just 'maintaining his princely demeanor' while helping to nurture a guard showing potential over the rest, even he does so in a way that hurts... he wouldn't be the only one of course, just, so far, the only one controlled by a player XD

To be more specific, full contact sparring, forcing someone into a position where they can't 'hold back because he's a prince' and allowing him to both keep himself sharp and inject a bit of more viable experience into the guard... afterall, nanny pandering around him being a prince and making it easy would just leave him a less suitable swordsman should he ever need to 'defend the realm' XD

In the same vein he understands that holding back because someone's an ally, more than is necessary to avoid crippling injury at least, would weaken the experience of the training, I see him taking the kingdom's defense very seriously, and thus the quality of it's defenders as well, even though he's not officially in charge of the guard [I don't want to take that position from someone else D:] He'd be the type to 'drop by' sometimes to see if he can enhance the training a bit. =3 Expect 'evil shiny glasses glare'!

I could see this also making him a bit of a 'scary sparring partner' because he takes it seriously, he may at some point help in giving instruction to the young queen if she ends up interested in that sort of thing... of course, in 'that' situation he would certainly hold back for the sake of learning... she'd probably just get a few bruises out of it =D

OH! OHHHH!!! IDEA! I've been considering things about magic, What if the 'public reason' this older prince turned down his succession to the throne, was because he took upon himself the 'burden' of learning magic so that 'someone' could use it to train the Kingdom's defenders in fighting someone using magic, and perhaps the potential for being 'changed' by the magic brought his suitability for the throne into question. Sure, that's 'probably' not the real reason he turned it down, but the public doesn't need to know his personal preference against having the 'chains of authority' be placed on 'himself', or that he'd rather affect the kingdom from 'behind' the king/queen while trying to make them better... oh, maybe magic 'has' changed him, made him more 'sneaky' in his methods of helping the kingdom >.> Of course, one can imagine there are others who'd be sure he's plotting something, stupid magic hating bigots =P

My brain is having fun cooking up these wild ideas!
I sent that pm =D I hope i summed up the info I imagined well enough, i could flesh it out much more, but i've done that several times before D: It'll be all the more fun to have some of it be a surprise IC XD

Aaaand that aside, I shall wait for the OOC and CS to continue designing my character :D
Heheh, that 'would' be entertaining XD I picture him having a bit of a public reputation as the 'I'm smarter than everyone in the room' kindof prince, even if he doesn't really think that way, he has a habit of 'looking' and sometimes sounding like it... I should find a picture of some sort >.> my visualization would explain it all, but I can never quite put those into words like I want to.

I'll send ya a pm about the race =3 If it doesn't get thrown right out, it might make an entertaining 'surprise' later on XD
I'd love to join! :D I never even heard of this game until I saw this RP, but it's interesting =3

If it's not a 'no go' role, I'd like to grab a spot as one of those 'siblings who were 'ahead' of her in succession but chose not to accept it', An older brother more like, Still a prince. I've always had a preference for the 'adviser' role over the 'ruler' role, there's all kinds of things that go along with that both good and bad >=3 All I'll elaborate on is that He'll be a man who has many Secrets [probably including magic because I LOVE magic :D]

As for 'other races' in a fantasy setting, I say GO NUTS! Not all of em have to be on the same level as humans! Dwarves and elves are the commonplace of just about every fantasy setting, but if you don't have some exciting creatures that REALLY mix it up and might require unique methods of defense against, then... it's basically just different balances of human type things that everyone already knows how to deal with =3 I have one in particular that'd be wicked to see included [whether a player controls one or not] and could make for quite the diplomatic adventure for a fresh Queen to encounter.

Edit: SHIT! Stranger D: If I get to join in as the Queen's 'older brother' I see him clashing something hardcore with your corrupt adviser XD
I could help out :D I'm good at making things =3 I just need to keep my enthusiasm up.

.Also, what did we agree on for the communication again?

whataya mean exactly?
Well phoo! DX as for myself, i am currently riding an xcom high.

Out of curiosity, who here would be enticed by an xcom/mlp crossover? I'm 'not' suddenly dropping this and swapping over XD just testing the waters =P
A notification was shared via various communication mediums, from whispering into ears to direct messages received by AI's, the moment the larger ship in orbit produced a far smaller one clearly set to land on the planet...

Upon hearing about this specifically Twilight was unsure if it was a good or bad sign... 'Hmmm, their sending a 'small' craft, most likely meaning only a few individuals... It could as much be a sign of non-hostility as an attempt to avoid risking more than a few while keeping the 'big one' in a position to be dangerous under the right circumstances... not that I'd specifically want to have that enormous thing down 'here' where all the big guns would be closer... they 'probably' have big guns, if their traveling space on a level above our-selves they 'must' have big guns!... Blast! I'm getting myself full of worry again, how does Celestia do this all the time? It can't possibly just 'get easy'...'

Twilight had been distracted in thought so thoroughly she didn't notice the shuttle closing in until several of those nearby spoke up in various states of wonder about the oddly shaped thing, and her attention immediately snapped up to it. 'wow... It really 'is' small, and i'm not finding any magic fields... I could shoot it down with 'basic' magic... if this hints at the big one not having anything like that either... Ugh! STOP THAT! Time to be serious!'

Meanwhile, Vastu had his eyes trained on the approaching shuttle since the moment it became visible, studying it as thoroughly as he could from a distance 'Hmmm, sparsely armed at best... very small... if that 'amount' of armor isn't some kind of special material then they are either stupid or too trusting... I'm going to assume it's something unique... the shape seems like it'd be good for forward deflection at least... I wonder how effective it is as ramming into things... hmm, it lands and flies pretty smoothly, the propulsion layout doesn't seem all that effective from first glance, but surely there's something i don't know about it... hmmm, opens from the sides, doesn't seem to be much room inside...-'

<Holy shit...>

The local hive links were all abuzz with deafening chatter as numerous eyes came across the 'creatures' stepping out of the shuttle.

The biggest question naturally was <What the hell 'are' they?>

One of the creatures appeared to be well armored but with enough exposed to identify that it was some strange form of seemingly hairless alien with a split jaw, it's arms exposed, and it's golden armor gleaming in the sun-light.

Another one looked like... 'what is that, some kind of construct? that's a 'lot' of metal to cover one creature in! it's got to be powered if it's able to move all of that, or genetically enhance...'

The last one seemed 'special', let because she wasn't covered in armor, and more because she seemed to have an air of authority about her, it wasn't hard to assume that she was their 'diplomat' in this situation... It just stood out even more than she was hairless, blue, and seemed to have groomed tentacles for hair... or were those solid? 'ohhhh, the potential Genetics that can be learned about from them!'

<calm yourself! It's time.>

Vastu straightened up suddenly as he saw twilight beginning to move forth, keeping her pace even, graceful, and peacefully slow... being a polite way of saying 'not making any sudden moves while still trying to give off the air of a 'princess' as was expected of her.

She stopped a few meters away from the 'visitors' and began to speak "Greetings, I am Princess Twilight Sparkle. I welcome you to Equestria and Hope that we can quickly form a peaceful friendship with eachother! I would ask 'your' names as well?" Already her mind was burning through dozens of alternative methods of communication that she could try resorting to if translation simply took too long on both sides... She wasn't going to hold her breath, but spoke as though she'd expect to be understood already.

_______________________________________________________

To the visiting diplomat, and her guardians, the sight before them was one of a kind in the galaxy despite it's already vast array of species and events.

Before them was arrayed roughly 100 or so individuals, most of which were Shorter equines of unique appearance that reached roughly chest height at best, some with horns or wings, and only a couple among them and the larger lavender one in the front reached proper eye level. Speaking of which, this one clearly stood out as 'special', being taller than the rest by a noticeable margin, had both wings and a horn, a mane and tail that softly blew in a breeze that was 'not' present, and wore a set of hoof-shoes and decorative adornments of various valuable materials... not that they could tell she detested the 'royal regalia'. This particular one was also flanked by 2 other equines not quite her size, armored and glowing a bit with an ever present 'protection' and the look of readiness that one could only display as an experienced protector, and of course there was an obvious construct with her that may or may not have been designed to look like it was wearing a butler suit.

More importantly, and though it was not of an as yet familiar nature, she seemed to radiate an aura of energy that emanated from some an incredible form of power within that a skilled biotic may be able to pick up on.

However, it was also clear that this was not a single species world, as beyond these equines were numerous other creatures, a couple dozen clearly insectoid creatures that stared at them with a single minded style of focus, some different types of equine-like constructs of physical and seemingly immaterial matter, and even what could clearly be analyzed as 'griffons' if one knew that old earth lore enough to remember. Still there were even more, a couple of equines with reptilian like traits [implying kirin], and others with hints of a bat to their appearance, along with some creatures that resembled other human legends like minotaurs or chimera, and staying in the back was indeed a dragon, albeit not of a titanic variety it was certainly unmistakeable both in appearance and in that it was purposely keeping it's distance from the front of the group.

Past them was a veritable legion of Equines at a much greater 'safer' distance, interspersed with clearly armored varieties and various other species.

Then there was, the vast circle of the land pad surrounded by structures of varied but overall 'non towering' sizes that they could see further back, there weren't many 'defenses' present but the huge ship shattering cannons could still be seen, and beyond that?

Forests in one direction, plains in another, most low areas were obscured by the circle of buildings, but farther in the distance it was easy to make out a spike like mountain that rose into high into the sky, with a gravity defying city attached to it's side, with smaller city like objects completely ignoring physics by floating in a pattern around the larger one.

Before much longer the larger equine started to approach, the construct staying by her side while the guard's kept only a very small distance behind her on either side. She spoke, though it was expect-ably unintelligible, her general tone was clearly smooth and intelligent, carrying a hint of practiced authority, and most importantly, sounding friendly and curious.
