Having walked into a decaying building as shelter for the night, you jump as a computer screen boots up nearby. Curious, as you've never seen functioning pre-infection technology before, you inch closer to the monitor. A woman's face appears before you. She looks worn, her expression a mask of distressed fatigue. She peers out at the world and speaks.
"If anyone is watching this, then perhaps not all our efforts were in vain." The face let's out a sigh, looking down at some invisible object before speaking again. "Bio-weapons have always been a truth of war. Since before any of us were born, it has been a reality. However, the price of that truth often goes untold. It was a terrible war that prompted the use of altered viruses. One in particular became favored. The rabies virus. It was suppose to cause small areas of enemy nations to go crazy and kill each other, but something went wrong. Instead, the virus spread quickly through out the human population of the world. Causing people to turn into.. monsters. It was a struggle to survive, but after five years things were at an uneasy calm. A group of brave humans and ferals came together to survive, and ended up taking on those who were behind this evil. Th-" The woman continues to talk, but the sound cuts out, producing nothing but static.
After a few minutes, in which you had grown bored and started looking around, the sound returns. "We paid the price of their treachery, but we will pay them back. If you are suffering from the infection, don't give up hope. There is a place for you."

This rp is set in our world, taking place within the United States. The exact locations are up for debate, so those interested are welcome to make suggestions. If none are made, it will simply start somewhere near the west coast and things will move on from there.
As this is post-apocalyptic, there will be limits on the kinds of weapons used. I am not banning firearms, but no one is going to have even a small stock of weapons and ammo.
A feral within this rp is a human that has contracted the altered rabies virus and some part of them caused it to mutate inside, giving them differing qualities. Some are consumed by it while others thrive. Ferals are outcasts in human communities, generally unwelcome everywhere.
