...why do I feel like both medics have too many personal issues to sort out to ever help someone else?

A good field medic is hard to find, and they wouldn't have been burnt unless there was something seriously wrong with them. In Patch's case he'll be sharp and levelheaded during the missions, even if he goes off the rails whenever there's any downtime to be had.
...poor, poor Charlie... ;,(
Name: Charles 'Chuck' Dodgers (confirmed alias, real name unknown)

Gender: Male

Age: 32

Personality:
Chuck's always been a bit of a rebel but over the years his attitude has slowly soured turning him from a peace-loving hippie into a troubled anarchist. His keen mind and intellect set him apart from most people, but his extremist nature and lack of respect for authority of any kind cause him more problems than he'd care to admit.

Background/ Bio:
Determined to burn the system down from the inside Chuck hacked his way into the Echo Game auditions to ensure his participation in the event. Unfortunately his plans to hack the Echo Machine making himself into a god in the simulated world fell apart when he learnt that the participants had no access to the tools and equipment he'd need to be able to carry them out, leaving him just as much a part of the system as any of the other players.

Method/ Plan to win the game:
Chuck is all about manipulating systems in unexpected ways, whether these are electronic systems or political ones. His original thinking and unpredictable nature make him a bit of a wild card in the game, and he's just as likely to make himself President as he is to run for Pope.

Appearance:
No one really knows what Chuck actually looks like. His body is covered with black robes and a white mask decorated with red markings which makes it difficult to see any sort of details at to his identity. Appearing to be quite tall, standing at 5'10" in his boots, and with glowing red eyes Chuck can certainly intimidate most people he meets, although his aggressive appearance may also get him into trouble when dealing with law enforcement and security personnel.

Notes:
Despite his anarchist rantings and disheartened view of the current government, Chuck remains a hippie in his heart of hearts and prefers to preserve life and maintain the peace whenever possible.

His plans tend to be progressive in nature, teaching others how to live better lives and break away from dogmatic views and teachings, but he's still willing to become violent when he believes it's necessary.

Chuck's weapon of choice is informational warfare, providing the citizens of rival nations with details of their ruler's corruption and backroom dealings in order to undermine their power base from within, even if this involves falsifying evidence for dissemination.
@RomanAria@Dragonite777 I think it was more my fault than anything. The entry was a little loosely written which easily caused the confusion for everyone.

Also, Patch is currently riding the high of his wake up pills and he will have calmed down by the time we reach the warehouse. His current manic behaviour is entirely drug induced and should not be viewed as his normal personality. A mixture of manic depression, alcohol abuse and access to medicinal substances tends to make some people a little unstable. :)

@Dragonite777 Just to check, with Patch's habit of distributing narcotics what are the chances that one of the people at the warehouse would be a customer of his, probably indirectly via a dealer in one of the local night clubs?

He never attended any of the face-to-face introduction sessions before starting the game, and was already plugged into the simulation when the others arrived. In the game's loading area he simply appeared as a wireframe model with its identity files missing, and once he's inside the game there's no telling what persona he may adopt.

@SimplyJohn Um, Elissa was waiting next to the door before you guys got there, if you didn't catch Roman's post.

Patch was already in the garage, he went there at the end of the previous post, before Owl headed back to pick up her equipment. :)
About the only restriction I'd apply is to be original and not come along with a clone of someone else's character which is already in use. If you want to bring along a clone of your own character which is already in use that'd still be fine. :D
Over-qualification's always a good thing, but being aged over 21 where the minimum wage is higher and taking on someone three years young will save the company a little money's a whole other matter.
Patch was already in the car with the engine revving as he heard Angelo's message coming through loud and clear through his earpiece. Tapping the contact on his watch to open a line he quickly checked in. "Ten-Four, good buddy. Got the engine running and tunes a-humming, should be wheels up in five. Can you pass on the message to the rest of the team, I'm itching to hit the road."

Cutting the line Patch reached for the radio and quickly started to skim the local radio channels looking for some good drive music. After a couple of misses he finally found a cover band performing a modern take of Motorhead's Ace of Spades. Leaning back in his seat he started bobbing his head along with the beat, his hands drumming on the steering wheel in a frantic pace.

Patenting is a thing. If you invent an automatic telephone cleaner, nobody else will be able to whip one up and call it their own invention. You will receive a bit of cash for the invention and kick back from whenever it is sold, if you can successfully patent it.

Would there be a period between when you 'invent' a new technology and when it can be applied for the first time? For instance, if you create a steam engine for the first time then your country would have to go through a period of transition as all the factories are upgraded to having steam engines running their production lines. During this time you wouldn't be able to benefit from the increased productivity of your factories, since the production lines wouldn't gain the benefit of the new system until the upgrade is completed.

You could even impose a penalty to the production for the upgrade period, as factories would have to stop production while upgrading, which would cause a short-term deficit to your country's productive output in exchange for a long-term boost once the upgrade has been finished.
