I just started trying to learn pixel art. I'm pretty bad at it, but I want to learn it while doing something, so I might make one of those command adventure games. Unless that is considered a ripoff of blorbs. If it's not I want to start one. Is it a good idea?

Your best option is to opt in for a full body suit:

For cosplay, it'll keep a consistent "skin" tone for any bit that shows. Morph masks would make it awkward if your actual pale skin shows. The tan ones aren't usually too tan, and come off as a slightly toned Caucasian skin color.
