*puts on captain's hat* Assuming I'm accepted.
And girls! :D
Gotta love the girls.
Anyhow, Cassie is accepted. I bet she'll be a great asset if we ever need to lay siege upon a fortress. Feel free to post her in the Character Tab of the OOC. :D
Cannons are always a great asset, no matter what. Posted, I will await the start of the RP.
Appearance: Cassie is always dressed rather properly, and has a thick leather harness that she uses to lug her Howler Cannon around with. Name: Cassie Strom Nicknames/Titles: The Bombshell Gender: Female Age: 28 Skills: Bombadier - Cassie is one of the best sappers you could find. Admittedly when your weapon blows up large square footage anywhere near where it lands, that doesn't count for much, but she is admittedly excellent at making her shots land where they're needed. Explosives - Cass can easily combine various materials to create make-shift bombs, or disarm other explosives rapidly. Collateral damage - Her cannon is small as far as cannons go, but it's still a cannon. Demolition - There's very little this girl can't blow up. Architecture - When you spend your life blowing buildings up, you learn a thing or two about architecture in general. Equipment: - Single Shot Howler Cannon *meant to be used by a single person, the Howler is a simple muzzle loaded cannon that can be braced against the hip to fire either directly forward or arced for greater range and to clear fortifications. She can only get one shot off before she needs to reload, but if she's got the space, she can make about 3 shots per minute. Can be used medium to long range, but is useless up close. Ammo consists of a heavy slugs or grapeshot, situation depending* - Howler Support Gear *stands for keeping the cannon upright, and a basic maintenance/cleaning kit* - Rope *always handy, but often used to help strap the cannon to herself* - Black Powder satchels *mostly used for the Howler, can be used as makeshift bombs* - Grenades *essentially ready made molotov cocktails used to keep enemies from reaching her* - Dagger *more utility than combat oriented* - Three shot pistol *last resort if someone with a blade manages to reach her in a battle* - Flint *often used to ignite the black powder when in a pinch* - Monocle *it's generally assumed she wears it to look more refined* Personality: Cassie is a pyromaniac with a deep love of blowing things up. Despite her very formal looking appearance and love of lavish fineries, this girl is one bullet short of a full clip at all times. Not insane, but renowned as unstable, Cassie is driven and passionate. Loud, boisterous, and fiery, especially around explosions or fire. She loves the smell of gunpowder and is infatuated with guns, the bigger the better. Despite this 'explosive' attitude, she is fiercely loyal to King Allamon, and takes great pains to help others who need it. Biography: An immigrant from Milokis, Cassie came to New Torrea with her father and sister. Though most of her life was spent in relatively poor conditions, she eventually joined the army, aspiring to be a great knight. However, her melee skills were beyond lacking, earning her a position at the bottom of her squad in terms of skill. She was transferred to a gunners platoon, and while she fared better, she was still one of the worst around. A sharp eyed captain noticed however that her understanding of the chemicals within the guns was beyond compare. She was again transferred to the sappers, and her purpose became clear. She showed an immediate affinity for the huge guns, and became an asset to her team. The Howler cannon became her life, and she fits it perfectly. She sends most of her pay to her father, to help raise and educate her sister so that she may have a better life than either of them, away from the military. However, when Allamon became bed ridden, Cassie was put in a tense situation. If she left the military, her sister's education would need to stop, and she would be forced to get a job just to make ends meet. The family would probably never leave their current standing, and struggle their entire lives. However, she disagrees completely with the Minister's vision, believing that to expand would simply cause the empire to collapse in on itself as their former allies turn on them in defense. She has yet to make a choice about how she should proceed yet. Others: She is absolutely useless in any fight that doesn't involve her bombarding from a distance. Those who manage to break through her onslaught and grenades are often met with the woman simply picking up the cannon and fleeing, taking potshots with her pistol as she does so. She is still a pretty awful shot with her pistol. Often times, to avoid melee, she'll simply ignite everything around her, taking her chances with the flames instead of a sword to the stomach.
*reads characters* Amazing swordsman, amazing mage, amazing shooter...well, I know who I'm gonna make now. My goal was to make someone that wasn't some amazing precision fighter, but rather a spray and pray type of support character. If this doesn't fit, let me know, and I will happily alter it to something less...bombastic. If I'm accepted, I expect Cass to rely heavily on sword fighters to keep her safe often.
Seems interesting. Let me know if I should alter anything. Name: August Battaglia Gender: Female Age: 18 Personality: August is easily excited and gets caught up in the heat of the moment frequently. Passionate and always thinking at a breakneck pace, it's amazing she hasn't gone insane or gotten herself killed. A hopeless romantic with an overpowering logical streak, she's broken more than a few hearts in her life, both boys and girls. Her train of thought, sometimes, makes little to no sense when she's in one of her brainstorms. She's deathly afraid of drowning, and cannot swim. It is exceptionally hard for her to not tinker with something and try to modify, streamline, fix, or enhance it, often with disastrous results. Appearance: Despite standing at a minimal 5', August is hard to miss. She has wild, vibrant red hair reaching down to her hips, often braided or tied back in intricate designs meant to control it's inevitable frazzles, frizzles, and tangles, but still make it presentable. Sharp green eyes stare over thin circular glasses in silver frames, sitting atop a perky nose. Her lips seem to almost always be pouting, except when they're being bitten in concentration. Often wears simple sweaters with jeans and brightly colored shoes of some sort, her favorite having a nebula painted across the top, alongside a worn beanie with googly eyes sewn onto it, looking like some kind of blob monster eating the top of her head. Weighing in at around 105 lbs, her figure is incredibly modest, with no chest or behind to really speak of. Her voice tends to squeak and crack when it hits a certain volume, especially when frustrated or annoyed, or when she inevitably gets shocked by one of her quick-fixed electronics. Tether: A near death experience has made August not only more appreciative of life, but also brought her closer to the spirit world. Something came back with her from the other side, and though she doesn't fully understand it, she's desperate to learn all she can about it. Ability: Empathy - August can read emotions in a given area or object. The stronger the emotion at the time, the easier they are to read. Complex or convoluted emotions, or areas with many different emotions, are jumbled and wild, something akin to a kaleidoscope in her head where she can't settle on one before another shoves it's way in. Particularly powerful emotions, like trauma, can give her headaches and leave her dazed or confused. This can't be used to read emotions in living people. Talents: Electronic Repairs - There are few electrical systems that can stay broken under August's fingers. Broken radios, flashlights, fuses, she can fix or at least temporarily jerry-rig almost anything that has wires and a current. Hotwire - A part of her life she'd rather forget, though definitely a useful skill to have, if she can get into a car, she can make it drive, keys or not. Recent history: August is a bit of an odd duck in Oakenheim. Shipped to the town suddenly to stay with her brother due to "legal issues", the girl has made a name for herself by "fixing" things that were never broken. Locations the locals actively avoid she seeks out with great zeal, mostly for disappointing results, but occasionally it pays off. She's often seen at night riding her bike to some new location or off into the woods. The local sheriff makes it a habit of picking her up on sight during these runs, since her brother almost never knows about them, and they often end with the power in the town going out from her tinkering.

Well, it seems it's only us left.Do you guys want a reboot?

I'll stick around for it if you guys decide to, yeah.
I'm down, but it's up to Viridian. I don't know how many people are actually still involved.
Posted. I'm assuming Aoife punched Gabriel not Victor, since Victor was standing and the comment was that she punched the boy on the ground.
Sometimes everything happens so fast, it becomes a weird blur. The boy on the ground clearly had no idea Victor was talking to him, prioritizing instead to grab and restrict someone who was suffering from claustrophobia. The punch made Victor flinch, mostly because he was still seeing the innards of the two, making it a weird play in some horrific theater. The bones bending slightly from the impact, the shudder from the muscles, and the veins bursting to leave the bruise. The German tried to respond, but the door suddenly received several slams, and a voice from outside yelling at them in panic.

"Come on! We need to go! The seagulls will be back soon!"

A pause, as Victor's mind processed the entire scene before him. A panicked animal of a girl backed against the wall, a guy who had just been punched in the face, and now another student yelling at them to run. Several fixes ran through his head. He could knock the girl out, it wouldn't be hard, he could see the veins and pressure points, all he'd have to do is apply pressure. Get the other boy to carry her to safety. He could swing the door open and let her run, get out of this area and get somewhere safer. He could keep the door shut, they hadn't been attacked yet, he was surprised the others even knew they were in here.

Knocking her out would be a poor first impression. And there was no guarantee the other student would be willing to carry her.
Remaining wasn't an option, if the student was screaming and hammering the door, he would be attracting attention, their location was known now.
Victor gave a sigh, then swung the door open. He didn't know these people. He grabbed the curtains, bundling them up under one arm. Still a good idea to take some protection from these gulls. He turned to the other two, then made a sweeping motion with his arm.

"SCHNELL! OUT!"

With that, Victor vaulted out of the room, and was met with perhaps one of the more bizzare sights he had witnessed. Victor froze as he saw the mythical beasts on the deck. Scorpion tails, lion heads, and winged. The term escaped Victor at the moment, being replaced instead with a loud:

"SCHEISSE!"

The two beasts were violently attempting to get below deck, slamming and breaking quite a few things in the process. Victor had a curtain. And a woeful lack of physical capabilities short of seeing the fact that the pair of beasts were indeed real, and made up of a lot of muscle and horror. Poorly, he might add. Whoever had created them had forced nature to bend in a way that it didn't want. He could see internal bleeding, scar tissue and oddball biological choices, strain on parts of the body that would cause massive pain in later years. This was barbaric, an infant tearing the heads off dolls and recombining them. The creatures were jury-rigged at best.

The initial panic was wearing off. Victor was getting frustrated more than anything. Whoever was behind this wasn't trying to kill them. They could have done that 8 different ways if they had access to these. They were trying to hurt them. Or scare them. Either way, the German was just getting annoyed. He scanned the creature for vital points, nerve bundles to exploit, to cause them to go numb. He just needed an opening. Wouldn't be hard to avoid getting hit, he could read the muscles at the internal level. Seeing the movements was child's play. Plus, the beasts seemed to focus on the group inside, not so much Victor on the outside. Seems whoever had come to get them had fled ahead, and grabbed all the attention. And he did still have the curtain...an idea began to form in his head.

Lol I wasn't even hostile bro. If anyone is, it's you, not me. I was simply making a comment on how I didn't think people minded the spontaneity of character interactions. If we went and asked everyone for every little thing we do in our posts, then a good chunk of the fun in the rp will be taken away. Of course, I understand where you're coming from. And I guess, to some degree, I can understand where you're coming from. Sometimes it can get a little annoying, but I guess that's depending on the person. *shrugs*

I'm not being hostile, though it is hard to read tone through text. Sorry for accusing you of such, it came off as snarky, not so much a comment.

I'll be more specific, major actions and such, if done in one post, to me at least, remove the spontaneity, cause now it's out of my hand. I don't get to choose how Victor reacts, but rather now have to make him open the door and logically run with Able, which removes choice on my end. The fun for me comes from the fact that you don't know how the other character will react, and thus, have to react to something else. Case in point, I didn't expect Aoife to want to deck Victor for him trying to calm her down. I almost wish she had *would've been funny*. But if I had her walk over to the curtains to take them down in my post, I'd never have gotten that, and now I understand what her CS meant when she said the emotions can confuse and overpower her.

You don't need to ask for every little thing, that wasn't what I meant. It's not a "Hands off my character" but more "Let me react to you."
