She didn't want to admit the fact that she had been defeated, or the fact that she was going to let herself die to save her partner. Not only that but the pain she felt was unbearable and she couldn't help but let her emotions get the best of her. Thankfully the doctors had done an amazing job with removing the bullet and stitching up her woud. Her hands covered her face and she cried heavily. Azura didn't hear him come in, her senses were dulled from the medicines and blood loss combined; she held her hands in front of her face and continued to cry.

He said sigh, she removed her hands from her face and looked at him. "...Aiden?" Her attempt to sit up failed and she fell back on the pillow. "Ow... H-hey, Aiden, I'm sorry... I'm really sorry" Placing her hand on the edge of the bed near him she created a small rose of ice. "Can you forgive me?"
Azura pressed her finger against her ear piece and spoke in a quick and serious tone, "Hey pyro, if you can hear me, get the hell out of the building cuz it's coming down in a matter of minutes, maybe even less" She was running down one of the hallways of the building belong to those that they worked against. The 'Suits' so they were so affectionately called by the ones she worked with. Hopefully her partner had heard her warning and gotten out, at least one of them would make it.

In the hallway before her a group of enemies ran from the adjacent corridor and blocked her path. They all locked rather agitated; Azura couldn’t help but smirk. “I’m sorry, are you upset at me because I’m blowing up your base? Why stand here in the blast zone and look for a fight when instead you can get out alive?” The young woman questioned. Instead of answering her question they all pulled out their metal batons and flicked them on. Electricity lit up the batons, sparking up and down the weapons. “Well gee, now you’re just asking for it”

By now she stood with her hands loosely at her sides and her head cast down. “Hope you know what you’re doing, losers” She looked up with just her eyes, staring through strands of her unusual blue hair. A single 3 feet long ice blade appeared in both of her hands, manifesting out of no where. With a raise of one of her eyebrows she spoke quickly, “ready, set, go!”

The battle was short, she moved like lightening through them, slashing and stabbing like a well-trained warrior. Their batons missed her wherever she moved, but the fact of the matter was, she had been shot earlier when she confronted the president of the organization they were up against, and it had caused her to be somewhat weakened. Azura couldn’t be sure whether or not she was going to win this fight, it didn’t really matter, the building was going down anyways.

A painful surge of electricity accompanied by a powerful blow to her spine forced Azura into against a wall, which was also excruciating when she ran into it. Her ice blades fell to the ground and shattered. Now was their chance for an all out attack, when she was stunned. They took the opportunity, each one surrounding her and beating her with their electrified batons. Electricity was an elementals only weakness, if you could send an electric shock through an elementals body it would render their abilities useless for a short period. Azura was doomed.

When they had finished with her, the 18 year old water elemental was slumped against one of the hallway walls, bloodied and bruised. The ‘suits’ went on their way to escape the building that probably only had less than a minute left. Azura sat limply against the wall, her head hung, body slumped and aching. Blood ran from her nose and mouth, her right eye was blackened and there were bruises all over where they had whacked her. She went for her ear piece and pressed the button. “Pyro… I-if you can still hear me… you better b-be out of the building, if you die so help me… I’ll kill you” She said between heavy breaths.

"Fuck fuck fuck fuck!!!!" Pyro screamed down the hallway. "Azura, can you hear me??" He kept banging on his radio, a swipe from the suits baton had shorted the circuit. He ran through the hallways in search of his companion. As he rounded a corner he came face to face with a heard of suits charging straight towards him. With no time to react he threw his hands in front of his face to protect himself. The group passed by him without a hint of concern. Pyro shrugged as he continued down the hall. He heard a gargle coming from the next corner. "AZURA!!" he yelled as he knee slid to his partners side. "what the hell happened to you?!?!" "Is that a gun shot wound????"

Azura lifted her head up to see who was speaking to her, the voice was familiar but it sounded all muffled and kind of echoey in her confused mind. She was losing blood and had begun to get rather woozy. Her vision was blurred and she could barely see out of her swollen black eye, but she could tell who it was, her partner, Pyro. “H-hey asshole… I th-thought I told you… to get out of here… The building is gonna blow…” Despite her being severely weakened, she wanted to punch him in the face because it was still her, but she couldn’t lift her arm up to do it. “Now go, before I get my strength back and punch you in the face” *

"You look like shit" he said as he helped her to her feet. "what the hell do you think you're doing, trying to die on me" After a bit of a struggle from Azura's badly injured leg she was finally standing. "let's get the fuck outta here" he said as he started guiding her limping body towards the huge window at he end of the hall.
As they approached the window Aiden pulled out a concussion blaster from his belt, aimed it, shielded Azura's head from the blast, and pulled the trigger. The window shattered out onto the street hundreds of stories below. He attached a harness to Azura so she is secured to his back. "Ready?" He asked. But didn't receive a response as she was fading fast. With all of his might he lept from the building and created jet like propulsion from his hands and feet. The two of them were gliding down fast. Almost too fast for a safe landing. Aiden guided them towards a lower rooftop.

The 18 year old walked weakly with her partner as he helped her to a window. She had to use whatever strength she had left to fight the urge to black out. In case Aiden needed her, not like she’d be much help, but she would do whatever she could. Her eyes closed and she couldn’t keep them open when he harnessed her against him. Come on stay awake, she thought, but it was a weak thought. Everything hurt and all she wanted to do was sleep, sleep… it sounded soooo good right now. He said something to her but she couldn’t muster the strength to reply then he jumped out the window and she felt air rushing all around her. The coolness of it and the thick scent of airship fuel filled her nose and lungs forcing her to wake up a bit. “What…? Oh gawd, what are you doing?!!” She asked still in a daze before he landed.*

The duo landed with great force. Their bodies became entangled as they rolled across the rooftop. With a hard crash, they came to rest. A dented ventilation shaft showed evidence of their velocity. The gunshot Azura suffered was becoming overwhelmingly concerning for Aiden. Fuck this is bad, he thought as he pulled out his med hit. Why does she always have to be so headstrong? It took a few minutes a even more medi-gels for the bleeding to stop. This is bad, she's lost a lot of blood. Aiden grabbed Azura's radio and changed the frequency. "HQ, HQ this is Pyro, I have Azura and the buildings going down. She's suffering from a severe gunshot wound. We need EVAC NOW!!!" He grabbed her hand and held it tight. "Don't you dare die on me you crazy bitch" he said through tearful eyes.

She had eventually blacked out, especially after the impact with the rooftop and the ventilation shaft. The medical attention Pyro had given her had helped somewhat, she groaned as he hurried to try and stop the bleeding. Her body was racked with pain and she couldn’t wake up to tell him that, though he probably already knew. Them being partners and all, despite the way they acted towards each other they could sometimes feel the same things the other was feeling. They were that close. (freaking soul resonance). After a short wait an air ship came toward them, dropping a ladder down so they could climb aboard. Once they were safe upon the airship the exit hatch closed behind them and one of the ships crew led Aiden to the back of the ship where Azura could get medical attention. He asked that Aiden set her down on the examination table and he did. “Thank you, now if you could just wait out there,” the medic pointed outside of the door. “I’ll have her fixed up in no time”.*

She listened and watched as he moved throughout her room, examining her things. He reminded her about getting ready for them to go. “Oh that’s right! I forgot about going to Iglasia, don’t worry Jasper, I’ll be ready as soon as I can and meet you outside the castle” Jemma didn’t wait for him to leave, instead she went toward her wardrobe to change; but she looked back as he said good morning, then he was gone. Her cheeks flushed pink a little, it made her so happy the little things that her brother did for her that he wouldn’t have when she first came back from her long journey with Rune. A minute or so after he left a maid hurried in to help her get dressed, she shook her head and thanked the maid, requesting that the maid allow her to get ready on her own. The maid did as she was asked, curtsied and left the princess with the reminder that if she needed anything at all, she need but ask and she would have help.

Jemma wore a light flowing shimmering gold dress that went down a little passed her knees and the collar a square shape as to not reveal too much skin. The sleeves were quarter cut to her elbows and loose, not tight like her other dresses’ sleeves. There was a thick black bow on the back that she tied neatly on her own. “There, now Jasper can be proud of me” The princess finished the look with fancy golden sandals that tied up just below her knees that she had gotten from Calorean on her travels, luckily they just barely still fit her. After packing a bag with a few extra clothes she hurried out of her room, being sure to bring her bow and quiver along on her back. She wouldn’t leave Everglenn without it. “Jasper, I’m ready” She smiled as she ran to the carriage that was waiting for them both. “Sorry if you waited long, I tried to be quick, but I’m ready now that’s all that matters right?”
That night Jemma dreamt about that day her and Jasper were playing in the garden, up until the part where she pricked her finger, it just kept replaying in her head. It was a memory she was fond of, and her brother still had the flower she gave him, same with Rune. Before the dream could replay in her head she felt something nudge her foot and someone spoke to her, bringing her out of her unconscious state. “Wh…what, huh?” She sat up slowly and rubbed her eyes. “What’d I do?” Her subconscious knew it was Jasper before she realized it, and to her, Jasper being there that early could only mean she had done something wrong. When she actually looked at him she realized that he shouldn’t be there.

“Jasper, what are you doing?? You can’t be in here, aren’t you worried about getting in trouble?” She questioned. Jemma leapt out of bed and urged him toward the door. “What are you doing here so early? Is the sun even up yet? A proper prince should knock and wait for the young lady to open the door… or something of that nature…” This of course was somewhat true, she wasn’t exactly sure, it was early and she was rambling. It was obvious the trip to Iglasia had completely slipped her mind.
Jemma was happy that her brother hadn’t gotten angry at her for hugging him. Also she was rather excited to be joining him on a mini adventure, or what she thought was an adventure, to him it was just duty. She’d make the best of it regardless. Knowing that the wise men of Calorean were going to be there made her happy, she knew them well and vice versa; the young princess would be able to communicate with them. Perhaps she could even be of use to the others by translating for them, maybe… As she prepared for slumber, she thought of Rune, and how he was the main reason she possessed all the experience she did. She missed her friend and guardian and wondered what he had been up too. They hadn’t gotten to see each other much any more because Jemma was busy getting proper royal schooling in the castle while Rune watched over the King. Apparently while she was gone, tensions with the Zanonians had worsened and Rune had to stay at the King’s side in case of an emergency.

After changing into a pure white silk night gown and putting her weapon in its hiding spot, the princess curled up in her bed and pulled the blankets up to her neck. “Tomorrow is going to be great” The princess assured herself in a whisper. Sometimes she just had to reassure herself, ever since the incident she never knew what would happen during the night. Even with her curse gone, deep down she still worried. Without another sound or movement, Jemma closed her eyes and allowed herself to drift off to sleep.
The golden daughter of Everglenn smiled at her brother as he said she was welcome to join him on his trip to Iglasia. Her brother had invited her to come with him, which was something she never expected from him. Ever since returning she could hardly imagine Jasper even wanting to be around her, but the two of them together were almost as they used to be. Jemma nodded her head, still smiling, “yes Jasper, I’d love to go with you, I can speak some Glasian, so I shouldn't be too much trouble. Oh, and don’t worry about the archery, sword fighting is an art I’m not quite that great at myself and yet you make it look so easy. We all have our strong suits.” She reassured him.

“I’ll head off to bed so we don’t get in trouble” The princess turned to leave but then stopped, thinking for a moment. She put her bow on her torso so the string was across her chest, her quiver remained on her back, her hands were now free. Jemma turned quickly and stole a hug from her brother, whispering, “thank you for tonight, twin, good night” It was a gentle, around the waist hug, she nuzzled his chest for a second then hurried off to her room.
The golden twin, Jemma felt a warm feeling inside knowing that somewhere deep down her brother did not truly hate her. She enjoyed more than anything the time that they spent together, especially these specific nights where she could almost completely be herself around him. The princess held back a small laugh as Jasper hit the target on it’s outer rings instead of a bull’s-eye. He asked how she did it and she took her own bow and raised it in front of her as a rebuttal. “Okay, watch me again, Jasper” Slowly she notched an arrow and pulled back the bowstring. “You want to slightly over compensate for such things as distance, wind resistance, and the overall strength you use to fire your weapon”

To show him what she meant she closed her left eye and looked down the arrow to it’s point, adjusting accordingly. “From this far back you want to aim a little bit higher than normal, so if you think it’ll hit the center of the target from right here,” she moved her arm down slightly, “than you want to aim it just a little ways higher, accounting for the distance, you’re already hitting the target a bit high so try lowering your aim just a little. Also, since there is a slight breeze going East then you want to point your arrow slightly to the West but just the slightest bit.” With a small smirk Jemma finished her list of tips, “Lastly, you must think on how far back you pull your string, pull it back too far and you may over shoot and miss the target altogether, if you don’t pull it back enough than it will most likely hit the ground before the target”

Finally, Jemma inhaled deeply and released her arrow; it went whizzing through the air and hit the target dead in the center. She exhaled as she brought her bow down and looked at Jasper with a smile. “Just like that Jasper. I know you can do it if you keep trying. It took me years to get to where I am in archery. Similar to how it takes years of practice to become as good as you are in the duel arena”
A secret character has appeared!!!

It's a Pyre:
Though her heart sank a bit she knew better than to give up, it wasn’t in her nature. She stood by while Jasper had a little ‘moment’, after which he stood to leave. Surprisingly he did not cry foul, did not yell curses or straight out blame her like she thought he would have. Even as he began to leave and looked back at her, he still did not make eye contact which for some reason bothered her. He stated that he regretted doing as she asked this was understandable and she felt bad but knew he too would not give up in this. It just wasn’t like Jasper, if she knew anything about Jasper it was that he wasn’t one for giving up, he had too much honor and pride. Jemma headed out after a few minutes of contemplating what could have happened, she returned to her room and wrote in her journal that she had kept for years now. This was her way of venting out her feelings, Rune said it would help her learn to control her emotions when she had her curse, and it somewhat had, thankfully.
Over time Jemma had learned what to say to Jasper and what not to say, as well as the things that were okay to do in front of him and things he disapproved of. That was his thing, he wanted her to be something she wasn’t, she learned that the hard way when he got upset at her one day and yelled at her to be more like their mother. Of course it hurt her, but she couldn’t let it get to her, she had made a promise to the king, and she always kept her promises.

Two years had gone by and now the twins were sixteen and growing fast. Jasper was becoming such a strapping young man and Jemma was blossoming into a beautiful young woman before Mitus’s very eyes. Since Jemma had arrived the king had tried to make more time for his children with very little success. But Jemma appreciated it none the less, even if Jasper didn’t. The princess made sure to go to all of Jasper’s duels to make him happy, anything to get him to open up and get closer to her. And it wasn’t bad, Jemma actually enjoyed watching the sport, except for the parts where Jasper got cut, that was never fun to see.

But luckily for her, her work was paying off, Jasper was finally beginning to be like before toward her. He often asked about her travels and wanted to learn all that she had. This always made her feel special because he was actually interested in something that she was interested in, things were starting to be like their childhood. Jasper was even starting to allow her to do certain things that princesses were forbidden to do. All and all, the kingdom was feeling more like home everyday for her.
