Why do people say "Tuna Fish sandwich"? That's like saying "Chicken Bird sandwich."

Bio

I never know what to put in these things. I'm just a guy who likes making stories. If I'm not roleplaying, I'm writing my own stuff or just creating random characters. I'm particularly fond of superheroes but I also really like character driven stuff and tend to dive into the details of a character. No character can be too detailed as far as I'm concerned.

Cammy watched as Xander strutted into the room, all swagger and confidence. She hadn't met this guy yet and wished she hadn't been sitting down when they did meet. He was intimidatingly tall and those eyes were...Wow. She stayed quiet as the conversation played out between Terraline and the boy she found out to be her brother. Cammy was pretty disturbed by how calm he was when he spoke about his parents murder as though that type of thing happened all the time. As though echoing Cammy's thoughts, Terry questioned her brother on his oddly calm nature. The response only made Cammy dislike him even more. And then Xander informed Terraline that someone named Josie was in the next room. They had another new girl? Damn it! Cammy mentally chastised herself again for taking that nap and missing so much. Terraline almost started to freak out at the news of this Josie's presence. When Xander turned to Cammy and asked her name, she gave him only a slightly disgusted look before turning to Terraline and with her most calming voice said "Calm down. You're safe here. Who's this Josie and why does she have you so upset?"
When Samuel finally addressed them, Nate responded with a smile that took even his duplicate by surprise. "Yeah, it's always fun when a psychopath comes a-knockin" he said. He had mastered the affable boy next door attitude over the years. Those who knew him as Legion were often surprised about how he came across outside the costume. At this point even Nate wasn't entirely sure if it was an act or not but it worked for him so he'd keep it up. He wasn't sure what Capricorn's game was. Maybe he was just being paranoid and he didn't even know who Nate was. He'd play along anyway until the other man showed his hand. Seemingly coming to the same conclusion, the duplicate played along. "It always brightens my day" he said, motioning his coffee slightly towards Samuel in a cheers gesture but with a less enthusiastic smile. Both quickly turned their heads in a seemingly synchronized fashion as Raven approached with a tray carrying a bowl of soup and a coffee. She placed both in front of Samuel and with her usual friendly smile said "Enjoy". As she turned, Nate caught her eye and she gave him a tiny wave. He returned the gesture as she left to serve the other customers. Boy, she had sure shaken off her fear quickly. Nate found that a little odd for some reason.
I should probably point out that there are only 2 of Legion in the coffee shop. Nate went to check on Raven while "Duplinate" stayed at the table. Original Nate left for a moment to spawn another duplicate (who may or may not show up at the club) and then came back. Number three actually hasn't been seen yet. This is a confusing power. I probably should have said something about what happened when Nate left for a moment but my brain has been mush today.
If you do, give it a better name.
I thought as much but thought I better check anyway. Also, I added something at the end of my post as I kind of forgot to address the whole Capricorn issue.
Edited my last post to address Higgins. Last paragraph.
I'm thinking about keeping "cute waitress Raven" around as an occasional supporting character for Nate but I don't have to fill out another character sheet for an occasional character do I?
Nate had been too busy staring at Raven to really notice the man she had been serving. His duplicate however, Duplinate, definitely had noticed him though. He knew this man but couldn't place the name. He had seen a file at some point on this guy...Damn it! What was his name? He flipped through files in his mind until he found what he was looking for. Capricorn! They name burst into his mind. Nate had never met the man but he remembered seeing a brief file on the man. Capricorn had done contract work for the government in the past. Nate had never been entirely privy to the details of the jobs but he knew Capricorn was a Meta. He remembered reading that this guy was some sort of human lie-detector though, so he could imagine what kind of work he did. But what was he doing here? Was it just a coincidence or had he come looking for Nate? Nate didn't really believe in coincidences. Chances were Capricorn had come here looking for him. When the man took a seat at the next table, his suspicions only seemed to be confirmed. Meanwhile, Nate had noticed a much more immediate threat. Elijah god damn Craig! What was he doing here? Nate was all too familiar with this man. Everyone knew Elijah Craig. The man had massacred the LAPD and now he was flirting with Raven. This just pissed off Nate more than he already was at the mere sight of the man. He tried to listen to their conversation but was too far away to hear anything. After Craig made a phone call however, Nate noticed Raven's expression change to one of sheer horror. He held himself back from pouncing out of his seat, his training telling him him not to cause trouble if he didn't have to. "Calm and quiet" he heard the voice of his former commander say in his head and with that he eased. He watched and waited until Craig wrote something on what looked like a hundred dollar bill and handed it to Raven before leaving. Once he was gone, Nate sprung to his feet and was quickly at Raven's side. He put a hand on her arm and asked "Are you ok?" She jumped at the touch but calmed when she realized who it was "That was--" "Elijah Craig, I know" said Nate, cutting her off. "He gave me his number" she told Nate, staring at the note in her hands with one eyebrow raised in confusion. Nate took the note from her and read the number, filing it away in his mind. You never know when you'll need to call a psychopath. "Never call this number" he told her as he handed her back the note. "What am I, nuts?" she replied in obvious annoyance. "What did he want?" "..What?" she asked, distracted by her own thoughts "Oh, he was calling some guy...then he asked me where club Chaos was..." Raven trailed off, consumed by her own thoughts again. Nate probably wouldn't have cared so much about this whole encounter if it had been with anyone else. But Raven wasn't just anyone else. He actually knew Raven and cared about her. There were very few people he could say that about. "He's gone now. Don't worry about it" he told her. Trying his hand at the unfamiliar art of comforting someone. "Yeah...Yeah" she said quietly. With one last look at the note in her hands she gave him a halfhearted smile and said "I should get back to work". Nate watched as she strode off and shoved the hundred dollar bill into the cash register before heading into the back room. He looked back at his duplicate who had been watching the scene unfold while keeping one eye on Capricorn, who Nate was still unaware of, and gave him a quick nod as he headed out the door. He was only gone for a brief moment before he returned and took his seat next to his duplicate again. "We good?" the duplicate asked as he typed something on his phone. Eyes locked on the door, Nate replied simply "Three's on it". A familiar ding sounded from inside his pocket, alerting him to an incoming text message. He looked over at his duplicate, knowing exactly who had sent it. The clone only stared back with a blank expression. Nate reached into his pocket and took his phone out to read the message:
"We have another problem. Next Table. Samuel Capricorn."
Nate only sighed in annoyance as he came to the same conclusion his duplicate had already come to. He glanced up at Capricorn, wondering if he had indeed come here looking for him.
My apologies. I think I meant to have Kai say something about that but while typing I forgot to add it. Doh! I'll either edit my last post or add a new one but it'll have to be tomorrow. I'm about to pass out at my keyboard. Brain need sleep for word...smart...things.
It'd be so much easier if you were starting up a male escort service because you'd just be able to call it something like Clone Bone LLC.
Now there's an idea!
