Why do people say "Tuna Fish sandwich"? That's like saying "Chicken Bird sandwich."

Bio

I never know what to put in these things. I'm just a guy who likes making stories. If I'm not roleplaying, I'm writing my own stuff or just creating random characters. I'm particularly fond of superheroes but I also really like character driven stuff and tend to dive into the details of a character. No character can be too detailed as far as I'm concerned.

She was always energetic. She was a cheerleader, she had to be. But his was just ridiculous.

At this point, Dani felt like she had enough 'pep' for the entire pep rally all by herself. She had been feeling more and more energy running through her all day. In every single class, she finished her work before everyone else. That never happened. Ever. Having to sit and wait for everyone else to catch up afterwards was torture and she was glad when every class ended. For a brief moment, she wondered if Derek had slipped some pcp into that coffee. She was fairly certain her friend wasn't a drug addict though. So there had to be some other explanation.

Dani was sitting twiddling her thumbs in the final class of the day, going slowly insane, when an announcement came over the PA. A number of students, herself included, were called to the principal's office. "Thank God!" she all but yelled as she stood quickly, knocking her seat over and drawing the entire class's attention to her. She quickly realized what she had done and immediately felt embarrassed. She had reacted entirely on impulse when she realized she could finally leave this class. With everyone now looking at her, she laughed nervously before adding "I mean..." but after an awkward pause decided not to even finish her sentence. Instead she simply snatched up her bags and hurried out the door.

She had to admit, she wasn't used to being called to the principal's office. Back when she had been a member of the student council, before resigning, she had spoken to the principal quite a lot. But she had never been called in with a bunch of seemingly random kids. Was she in trouble? She hoped not. She couldn't think of any reason why she would be.

When she pushed the door open to the office, she noticed a couple of others already waiting but there was no sign of the principal. She took a seat next to Paul and glanced over at him. She immediately did a doubletake. Paul had always been taller than her but looking at him now, he seemed notably smaller. Smaller than her even. That was weird. She didn't even try to hide the fact that she was confused. Her confusion only grew as she slowly turned her head to look at Carol who looked like she had been working out. A lot. Dani had admittedly never paid a whole lot of attention to the girl in the wheelchair but she was fairly certain she wasn't always that buff. It was kind of impressive and Dani was actually a little jealous. Oliver's pacing seemed relatively normal compared to these two so she paid little attention to him. By this point she was quite visibly looking back and forth between Paul and Carol.

There was a lot of weird going on here and Dani felt increasingly uncomfortable with it.
Singing a little tune to make herself feel better about the darkness, Ember descended the staircase. Or rather, she flew downwards, above the stairs and towards the rumbling and sloshing sounds she could hear. The glowing pixie was currently the only light in the area but at the bottom of the stairs she found an old lamp which looked like it still had a little oil in it. She decided her own glow wasn't enough and clung onto the side of the hanging lamp with one hand as she waved the other at the lamp, whispering an incantation in the process. She yelped slightly as the lamp erupted. Apparently there was more oil in it than she realized.

But on the plus side, the area was well lit now. She noticed there was a doorway to the left of the last stair and was fairly certain that's where the sounds were coming from. She pressed herself up against the wooden door and listened. Yep. The noise was definitely coming from in there. She grabbed hold of the handle and pulled down on it with all of her weight, grumbling something under her breath about big people. Eventually she heard a click and the door swung slightly ajar. Rather pleased with herself for such a simple thing, the pixie slapped her hands together and quickly squeezed in through the narrow gap.

Her mood was soured somewhat when she say what lay on the other side. The room looked to be some kind of bath house. There was a large stone tub carved into the floor and Ember could see glowing runes on the bottom of it. What was bothering Ember was the fact that the runes seemed to be sporadically spewing up water into the air. The water fell back down into the tub and was quickly filling it. When the water seemed to ease its eruptions momentarily, Ember knelt by the side of the tub and down to test the water inside.

"OW!!!" She yelled as she recoiled far into the air, clutching at her hand. The water was too hot. She made an angry face at the water like it had wronged her. The runes started spewing water again as though they were mocking her.

This was clearly not how this thing was supposed to work. More importantly, if something wasn't done about it, it would likely overflow and flood the basement. She remembered the people upstairs saying something about restoring the tavern to working order. Perhaps she could help here. "Oh, fun!" she said, proud of herself once again for deciding to help.

The pixie began flying in a circle above the tub, spreading a ring of glowing pixie dust around the side of it as she went. She whispered another incantation and formed several symbols with her hands until she came to a stop, hovering above the tub. She closed her eyes and continued her spell.
Anyone mind if I post next.

Oh...Sorry. I was already typing and didn't see this. Oh well, Dani didn't interact with you anyway.
The sights and sounds of the school were all the same. The place even smelled the same. It was all the same. Yet it didn't feel the same. Something felt odd. Dani couldn't put her finger on it but she knew something was different. She hadn't felt the same since that damn dream. Maybe she was coming down with something. She hoped not. As much as Dani wanted to be a doctor one day, she hated actually being sick herself. She had felt weird ever since that dream.

She tried once again to push the memory of the dream to the back of her mind as she entered the cafe, the door being held open for her by some boy who looked familiar. She had seen him around but couldn't for the life of her remember his name. Was it Dave? It was probably Dave. She gave Dave a halfhearted smile in thanks and then promptly forgot all about him as she laid eyes on Derek absentmindedly looking at his phone. She dropped down into a chair beside him and snatched up his coffee, taking a long drink of it. "Mmmmmm" she moaned as she took the cup from her lips. "Thanks, I needed that." She knew full well that it was Derek's coffee but maybe if she pretended otherwise, he would just let her have it. She took another sip, relishing the caffeinated goodness.
@Spybuster What exactly is Ember going to find in the basement?
<Snipped quote by DrewVonAwesome>

Alright, fine. But the burning paper will probably set off the fire alarm.

Wasn't Derek handing out the fliers outside? I assumed the trash can was outside too.
@Idemus046 I just realized, Ember can talk to Kitten.
I'm still here but I was ll the last to post so...
@Heathen Bitchy or not, I bet he and Dani would be friends. Shall we make them friends?
Ember's eyes grew progressively narrower as she listened to the conversation between the two big people. She wasn't really paying much attention to what they were actually saying. She had little interest in 'inquisitions'...Whatever that was. Instead, she paid more attention to the body language. Was there something between these two? Maybe not. Maybe she was letting her imagination run wild again, as she had been known to do in the past. But then the woman mentioned something about a bedroom and getting the other one there. Ember threw her arms in the air as though celebrating her own cleverness.

She didn't want to see what happened next between these two and quickly flew off, back to the main room. Almost as soon as she arrived, she heard a strange noise. The bartender seemed to hear it too and looked down at his feet. Was the sound coming from the basement? He seemed to pay it little mind and went back to pouring drinks. Ember, however, was curious and decided to investigate. She flew around the corner until she found a wooden door, slightly ajar. She squeezed her tiny body through the space and found a set of stairs leading down. It was dark but she wasn't afraid of shadows...anymore. Like a tiny torch, Ember lit up. A fiery light seemed to emanate from her as she made her way slowly down into the basement.
