A week later and Aneko has began to see that she's getting stronger physically. She's pushed herself to run at least a mile before school every morning, and have her father help with her martial arts skills after school. On Saturday, she forced herself to get up and do what the American's called "two-a-days". She wore herself out completely, but she was determined to make herself stronger. Monday morning, her mother drops her off in the front of the building and she heads straight for the halls. As soon as gets to the door of Endeavor's classroom, she's stopped by this note on his door. Written on it is a list of students that are instructed to meet at Gang Orca's room. She goes down the list of students and notices her name is number four on the list.

"Me? What did I do? And why am I going to a first years classroom?" She thinks to herself. She begins to briskly walk towards his class, with only 3 minutes left to spare before the warning bell. She reaches the door and see's Noir there, along with Riku and a few other students.

"Good morning, Aneko." Noir licks his lips and smiles.

"Hey, Andrew...Morning, Riku." She says in between a yawn.

"You look tired. You ok?" Noir asks.

"Yeah...I've just been putting my body through a lot of physical training. Trying to get stronger...."

"I see. Well, if you need some help with something, just let me know." He says with a slight smirk.

She looks at Andrew, trying to read the sincerity of his face. "S-seriously?"

"Yeah...I got you. Just let me know."

She looks at Riku, almost as if she's waiting for his approval. "I-umm...I'll let you know what I decide..."

"Do that..." he trails off.

She turns her attention to Riku. As she takes a few steps over to him, their eyes meet and he gives her a small smile

"Hey..."

"Hey what's up?" Riku looks down at her.

"You know what this is about?" She asks as she plays with the end of her ponytail.

Riku nods his head. "Yeah...apparently him and Gang Orca wants us to pair up with first years in a game of Capture the Flag."

"Capture the...eh...I guess."

"Yeah...oh, I told you I was going to bring you some since you almost ate all of mine the last time." He chuckles then tosses her a box of Strawberry Pocky's. She giggles as she remembers the first time she tasted them when they went to lunch. She nearly ate his whole box, and he promised to bring some for her. She puts them in her bag, but manages to take one out and munch on it quietly before Endeavor walks out into the hallway.

"Well, at least you're on time. Today is going to be a task for you. I consider the group of you as my top students in the class. You've been improving your quirks, and I see your dedication in and out of the class. Now, we'll see how you work with those that are still learning."

As the 1-A class begins to pile into the classroom right as the late bell rang, Gang Orca gathers the attention of his students.

"So, as you all know, heroes along with their side kicks, often work together in order to reach a common goal, be it defeating a villain, recon, recouping from disasters et cetera. I brought the idea up to Endeavor that we should split you guys into teams, and play a little game of capture the flag to work on the very aspect of your teamwork."

"To that same end, I've brought the top from my class so that they can work on their leadership attributes and so I can see who will rise to the occasion...and who will fall short." Endeavor smirks, as his students that have filed in one by one to the front of the class. Riku to the right of Aneko, and Andrew, on the left of Aneko. Both of them seeming to tower over her 5'6" frame. She looks around the room filled with a bunch of bright eyed first years. It felt like yesterday she was just in their shoes; eager and ready to get their licenses to be a hero as soon as they could.

"So everyone besides Doll, who is on punishment for the week..." Gang Orca stopped to shake his head, "will be shuttled onto the field UA has procured for this capture the flag exercise. As for the teams" Gang Orca paused for dramatic effect... "these will be revealed when we get to the site." The class groaned loudly.

"Now everybody, let's go!"

Endeavor leading his class and Gang Orca leading his class towards the shuttle. As Aneko walks to the door, Noir pops back up to her.

"Well, this is about to be interesting." He says.

"Mhm...I haven't played CTF in what seems like forever, but this group seems to be pretty headstrong." as they board the shuttle.

"...for now." He replies.

"I have faith in them...I mean, what's the worst that could happen?"

The moment Riku sat next to Aneko on the bus, is probably the worst thing that could have happened...
Aneko walks out of the infirmary with a look of sadness and irritation. Recovery Girl stops her right before she reaches the exit.

"What's the matter, honey?"

"Oh...it's nothing. I'll be fine." She replies with a fake smile.

Recovery Girl looks at her with a look of disbelief. "Your friend will be fine. He just has to learn to control his--"

"I-I'm sorry but, he's not my friend...friends don't speak to each other the way he just spoke to me. We're just in the same class together. But I'm glad he'll be ok. Umm...please excuse me, I have to get back to class." She bows quickly and exits the infirmary.

Aneko briskly walks down the pathway to the training grounds and she notices the closer she gets, the more chilly it becomes. She looks up into the sky and sees clouds hovering over the area where her class is. Now, it seems as if they are beginning to dissipate.

Is this Riku? Shit. Did I miss his turn against Endeavor?! Arrrgggh! Her brisk walk turns into a full on sprint. Her bun falls and her thigh length hair flies behind her as she gets back to her class. Once she sees Riku walking out of the arena brushing off the grass on his pants leg, she slides her way through the crowd over to him. She comes up behind him and places a hand on his shoulder.

"Wha...what I miss?" She says in between breaths.

He looks around and directly into Aneko's eyes. He gives a one-sided smile. "Where'd you go? And I just went up against Endeavor."

"Oh...I went to check on Noir..."

"He alright?"

"He will be....but how did the match go?"

"It was interesting...." he trails off.

"...but did you win though...." Aneko asks?

He looks at her and raises an eyebrow. "Of course..." Aneko gives him a toothy grin and puts her hand in the air for a high-five.

"Awesome! I'm proud of you!" He returns the high-five with a smile of his own.

"Thanks. It wasn't easy, but I got him. Thanks to my Master's training. He actually had the nerve to say that I would become a major villain if I didn't get control my quirk."

Aneko furrows her brow, looks down at the ground then back up to Riku. "Villain? Why would he say that?"

"Just to provoke me I suppose. Kinda what he does to everyone, ya know?" He turns to face the current match between Endeavor and another student.

"Yeah...wait. Aizawa trained you before, yeah?"

"Mhm." He studies the movements and strategies of his teacher.

"Oh, I've heard good things about his training. And---is it true that he really does carry a yellow sleeping bag on him?"

Riku chuckles. "Yeah, he actually does. It's actually pretty funny to see him cocoon himself."

Before they know it, all of the students have battled their teacher. Endeavor walks over to the group of students, arms still folded across his chest and still peering down his nose.

"You all have a lot of work to do, but you have to be willing to learn what I have to teach. This class will not be an easy grade....I'm going to push you, and challenge you to the best of your abilities. Either you bring you best, or withdraw from my class because I will not waste time on anyone. To those that won, good job. To those that didn't, don't give up. Now, lets migrate back to the classroom. If you feel the need to go to the infirmary, you know how to get there. Everyone else, lets move out. Class is almost over."

All of the students gather their belongings from the designated area on the sidelines and prepare to head back to the classroom. She falls to the back of the group to gather her thoughts about what's to come this semester. As her mind races, she thinks back to the conversation that Noir had with her and it made her slightly irritated all over again. "Why was he so angry? I was just trying to make sure he was ok..." she thinks to herself.

"Hey..." Riku calls out. She turns around, startled because she didn't know anyone was behind her.

"Yeah?" She stops and looks at him.

"It's getting close to lunch time. Want to go grab food? I'm kind of hungry..."

"Me? Uhhh...well...sure."

"Cool. I'm going to hit the showers in a bit...meet you outside the classroom?

"Y-yeah! I'm going to freshen up too. I'll see you there."

"Good." He smiles at her and walks away to catch up to the rest of the class. Aneko beams inside at the fact that someone actually asked her to go to lunch. Her first year was spent as a loner. No one ever really talked to her because when she wasn't in the classroom, she was either in the library, or practicing on the training grounds trying to hone her quirk more. Am I finally about to have a friend here? I sure hope so....
As everyone get closer to the training grounds, the clouds begin to dissipate little by little and the temperature begins to get warmer. Aneko looks back at Riku and gives him a small smile, and he returns it with one of his own. They reach the training grounds; Aneko wide eyed with nervousness. It's an open field, not a single tree in sight. Soft, green grass meshing under everyone's footsteps. As the class continues to follow behind Endeavor, he abruptly turns to the class, still looking down the bridge of his nose at everyone.

"Stand back. The last thing I need is one of you getting burned."

The class backs up as he walks more onto the field. In a swift motion, he uses his powerful quirk to singe the grass around him into a large circle. Aneko watches in awe, since this is the first time she's seen him use some of his power up close. He slowly spins around clockwise, carefully burning the ground around him.

"I wonder what this is for? This looks similar to...an arena? Is that what this is?! Are going to have to go up against him?!" Aneko thinks to herself. Her mouth gets dry at the thought of sparring with Endeavor. He finishes and lets the smoke clear before motioning for the students to come closer. The students walk towards the circle that he's created and he closes the distance by walking towards the group as well.

"If it isn't obvious, I've created a small arena. Yes this is the first day, but that does not matter. I want to see exactly how much control you have over your quirks, as well as how you do with hand to hand combat. No, I won't use my full power. Yes, I'll have weights around my wrists and ankles, but that does not mean I want you to hold back. If you get hurt, Recovery Girl will take care of you for the most part."

"Hand-to-hand combat?! Regardless of the handicap...oh no this isn't going to go well."

Endeavor placed the weights on his wrists and ankles and diminishes his flames by a small amount as he scans the class back and forth. After a few seconds, he locks eyes with a student and points at her.

"You. You're first."

The class turns to her and she stares back at her, confidence oozing from her shoulders and glistening in her forest green eyes.

"This should be fun." The student said as she sashayed towards the circle. Aneko begins to twiddle her thumbs as the match starts, her focus mainly on Endeavors counters and how he maneuvers around the ring. The student is able to keep up, despite getting knocked down every other moment. One by one, students line up to face their teacher. Some actually win, others aren't so successful. After these few matches go by, Eneko feels an unknown presence next to her. She turns and looks directly into the eyes of Andrew.

"Looking a little nervous there..." He says in a low tone.

"Uhh...yeah...this is Endeavor I'm up against..."

"Yeah...you think you can't beat him or something?"

"I'm thinking that my ass is going to be thrown around this arena like a rag doll."

He chuckles under his breath and licks his lips. "Nah...I think you'll be straight."

"Let's hope so...I haven't done any hand-to-hand combat in a while."

"Oh so you have training?"

"My dad...well, he's one of the--"

Before she could finish her statement, Endeavor calls her name.

"Aneko! You're next." He yells out and all of the students turn around to look at her. She takes a deep breath, grabs her long ponytail and twists it into a firm bun on top of her head. She takes one last look at Andrew then slowly makes her way through the group towards the arena.

"Don't waste my time. Come on. Let's see what you've got." Endeavor says with a haughty smirk.

"Aye yo you've got this Aneko!" Andrew yells from the middle of the group. She looks back at him and smiles, then her eyes fall on Riku. She gives him a closed mouth smile and he returns one with a wink. Aneko turns and faces Endeavor, gawking at his 6'5" huge frame towering almost a foot over hers. In what seemed like 2 seconds, he charges after her.

"I see you have a cheerleader. None of those will help you if you're unconscious." He almost lands a punch but he misses by an inch. She dodges to her left, heart racing in fear that she almost got hit in the face. She backs away slowly and keeps her eyes on Endeavor, as he turns around and shoots a flame from his right hand towards her. She dodges that one, but completely missed the flames coming from the left. They hit her and send her spiraling a few feet backwards, almost knocking her out of the arena.

"You can't spend the entire battle trying to dodge attacks." He walks towards her. She stands and feels something wet on the corner of her mouth, and in wiping it, she realizes it's blood. He gets ready to land a punch when she reaches out to use her telekinetic power to grab his fist. Her adrenaline begins to pump through her system as the class gasps.

"Aha...so you're a psychokinetic..." He smirks and gets ready to land an attack with the other fist, but she dodges and kicks him in the ribs as hard as she could. He stumbles back and looks down on her again. She presses her palms to the ground, yet keeps her eyes focused on her current target.

"Ogun, I call on you to help me defeat my enemy. Chango, I call on you for strength to win this battle. Orula, I call on you to bestow wisdom upon me." She says to herself. In that instant, two gold slivers of light stand on both sides of her. They combine and swirl around her in a giant ball, illuminating her gold bracelets and rings around her neck, as well as the tattoos on her arms and collarbone.

"Well then...that tickled, but that's not enough. You're holding back, Aneko! Bring it or leave my class!"

Almost immediately, Aneko let's out a scream and charges at him. They collide, blow after blow, flames thrown left and right. After a while, she immediately stops, both breathing heavily. She points at Endeavor's feet and when he looks down, he realizes that he's standing outside of his singed circle. She actually won. She presses her palms together in a praying hands fashion and says "Amen" out loud and the gold lights fade away slowly. A few of her classmates cheer and clap for her and she looks at her teacher, who gives her a nod of approval as he crosses his arms.

"Well done, Aneko. Believe in yourself more." She bows to him and hobbles over to the sideline with the rest of her classmates. Almost instantly, Andrew and Riku simultaneously approach her.

"I'm impressed." Riku says.

"Yeah, and you were over here all nervous." Andrew follows up.

"I was still nervous the whole time, guys."

"Still, a job well done, Aneko." Riku replies.

"Thanks...I still have a lot to learn."

"We all do...this is only the beginning." Andrew says.

Endeavor makes his way back to the middle of his arena, then looks back over to the group of students.

"Riku! You're next."
[Flashback to the summer before this semester]

"Ah-nekooooo!!" Her mother Yoyo yells from the kitchen in her strong Japanese accent.

"Hai, okāsan?!" Aneko yells from her room.

"Come! You hear who teach your class this semester?! She replies over the sound of the kitchen sink. Aneko closes her computer and slowly sulks to the kitchen to figure out what her mom is talking about.

"Last time I checked it was going to be Gun Head..."

"No no! New one." She slides her phone to Aneko across the counter. As soon as she picks it up and reads the headline on the school website, her heart sinks almost instantly.

"Pro-Hero, Endeavor, to Teach the Second Year Students at U.A."

"...no way this is happening..." she thinks to herself as she puts the phone back down.

[Fast forward to the beginning of the semester]

“We’re taking over the training grounds today. I wanna see who is worth teaching. Everybody else can leave my class now.” Endeavor says with an arrogant tone as he peers down the bridge of his nose at the students while pacing back and forth. Aneko, who has always been nervous in the presence of Endeavor, begins to twiddle her thumbs. She looks around the classroom and then back to the front, only to find Endeavor looking directly at her.

"Alright. Let's move to the training grounds." He says. One by one, the students start to head towards the door of the classroom. As they walk, Aneko's mind began to wander from one thing to the next.

[Flashback to the summer before this semester]

"What wrong? Why you have that face?" Yoyo asks Aneko.

"Eh...Gun Head is just much nicer. That's all. I kinda wish I had him as a teacher."

"Oohhhh, I see. You do fine this semester."

"Endeavor isn't the nicest guy of the lot, okāsan...."

"I know...but he good teacher. I know you will learn much from him."

[Back to the present]

The second year students proceed to walk down the halls, sometimes turning left, then right, then down a huge stairwell until they reach outdoors. The clouds begin to cover the sky the closer they get to the training grounds, then a small breeze turns into a different, much colder windchill. A couple of the students make comments about the sudden temperature change, but they're not understanding why. Aneko looks over at Riku, who hasn't said much, but irritation is written all over his face. Aneko hasn't had the best of luck with friends, seeing that she's still rather new and doesn't hang out with her peers outside of the classroom. As the temperature continues to slowly decline, she walks over to Riku and lightly touches his shoulder.

"Hey, Riku?" She said through slightly gritted teeth.

"...yeah?" He says.

"Are you nervous about something?"

"Not particularly. I don't exactly know what to expect from this training, but I'm sure I can handle it. My mind is just wandering, and I'm not too fond of Endeavor's demeanor, although it is normal for him to be this way."

"I see...well, let's think of something a little more pleasant, okay? Because we're all beginning to freeze out here." She says through slight shivers.

"Freeze? Why? It shouldn't be cold out--" Riku looks up and around and sees that the sun is completely hidden, and it's beginning to look gloomy outside. Clouds have filled the sky, and the air is crisp and still. By the looks of it, the temperature has drastically changed. He looks around at his classmates and everyone is huddled up together looking directly at him. Steam escapes their mouths with each breath, and Endeavor takes slow strides towards Riku.

"Well, well...we have a weather manipulator on our hands." He says with an arrogant smirk. Riku swallows hard.

"Yeah. I didn't realize I was doing it..."

"You'll have to get better control of your emotions. Otherwise, how do you think you'll survive in combat? The moment fear sits into your heart, what will happen? A Tsunami? A Hurricane? Learn to control yourself." He turns to the students. "Everyone, let's keep moving. We're almost there." Aneko looks at Endeavor as he walks back to the front of the group. She shakes her head then focuses her attention back to Riku.

"You're going to be fine. Just...prep yourself for whatever he throws at us, yeah?" She gently rubs his arm.

"Yeah...I got you." He replies.

"Good, I know you can handle it. Besides, it's really cold, and this outfit isn't exactly made for the winter." She smiles. "Come on...let's see what this training is going to be about. And trust me, everything going to be okay. Plus, your quirk is pretty cool." She turns and walks ahead to catch up with the class. Riku smiles back, and almost instantly, the sun reappears.
