I say tightening my grip on the soul. " I wounder what a weapon infused with this soul might do."

You see me in a dark spirit form. I pull back a punch and strike you right square in the nose, but it passes though you harmlessly.

The Bed of Chaos being corrupted made it weaker?And Nito appeared to be actively stimulating the spread and growth of bonfires. Why would he do such a thing, if it weakened him?
He did it in order to take as much humanity out of the world as possible, at the same time fueling him. The humanities are shards of the "Dark soul." or the soul of the pygmy, so easily forgotten. And yes it did. Such corruption damaged the soul because it made it fuel for the fire, burning away at its power.

You find that doing that is impossible. Dark side energy must not be able to create life.
