I hope that was okay for an opening post, I'm a little tired and if we're being honest I probably should have waited until tomorrow to post it but at least it gets us to somewhat of a start and we can all grown from there.

The sun was rising over what used to be known as New York City. Well in a way it still was known as New York City, but there wasn't much about it that was similar to what people thought of as New York City. The rising pillars of grey were in disrepair, and they were covered in something rarely seen in the city. There was green growing from inside of the buildings. The streets were in the same vein, no longer were they just long stretches of asphalt filled to the brim with bustling cars, now the grass had sprung up from beneath them and flowers had sprouted out around the abandoned cars that littered the streets. This wasn't all a good thing though, feral beings roamed this landscape, a place where they once didn't belong, now they roamed free to eat whatever, or whomever, they wanted.
The Wolf took a bite out of an apple, it was a bit past ripe and wasn't exactly the healthiest thing for him to be eating, but whatever he could get his hands on was good enough for him. He opened his mouth to speak, not something that was uncommon for him to do. "You want any?" He said, holding it out towards his travelling companion.

The Seer shook his head, he was preoccupied by other things. It had been quite a while since they had run into the Children of God and it was starting to make him antsy. Usually this kind of thing wouldn't bother him but at this point it had been eerily quiet for the two travellers. By his estimate, they hadn't seen a real human being in over a week and even when they did see someone they weren't what anyone would have classified as being friendly, which made The Seer wonder as to whether or not the next person they meet would try befriend them or shove a knife in their chest.

"Suit yourself." The Wolf said with a shrug, he was done with his food anyway, it wasn't sitting in his stomach right. "Batter up!" He yelled, before throwing the half eaten apple into the air and hitting it with his aluminium baseball bat. Most of the somewhat rotten apple just fell helplessly to the ground below the bat, whilst a bit more was just stuck to the bat itself. "Aw, c'mon." The Wolf said in disappointment as he scraped the bits of apple off with his shoe. He ran his fingers through his hair and realized that he really didn't know where the two were headed towards. "Hey Seer, where are we going exactly?"

In a voice that was deeper than hell itself The Seer said simply "Central Park." His voice sounded unnatural for him to most others, it was incredibly deep which may have been part of why The Wolf took him so seriously. The Seer felt that going to Central Park would probably be the best way to find others who may want to help join his cause. In the days following the Apostate, many people flocked there. It was a central hub for a while before people realized that there was no sign of any form of "rescue" from what had happened. People were still there though, living with the greenery that was even more overgrown than it was in the city.

The Wolf didn't seem to protest, he held a deep seeded trust in The Seer, he just nodded and continued following with him, humming nonsense to himself.

Accepted, all seems well. (And yeah, pretty much all the names I've come up with for this RP have been Swans references, but hey they're great at naming things)

I've got to go to work in a bit but I'll try to put up the first IC post tonight if I'm not stressing over sociology.

Name: Rebecca Blue
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Orientation: Bisexual
Relationship Status: Single
Occupation: Film studies student, amateur film critic
Favourite Books: 1984 by George Orwell, The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad, and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Phillip K. Dick
Personality: Laid back and overall pretty understated. She's kind hearted but that can be overshadowed by her own flirtatiousness which seems to come up every time she meets someone new. It can be a bit overwhelming at times but once you can get past it she can be a real great person to be around.
Brief Bio: Rebecca grew up in a fairly normal family. She lived in a moderate sized apartment in the city with film as heavy influence in her life. This may be mostly due to the fact that her father was an actor. Not really the kind of actor that everyone knows right off the bat, but one of the people that get people to point at him and say "Hey, that was the guy that was in that thing!" Rebecca's mother was more of the income earner in the family, but she wasn't around much because of it. In high school, Rebecca was one of those girls that would go through a ton of boy and girlfriends all the time, it seemed like every week was a new one. It wasn't really that she had commitment issues, it was more to her that high school didn't really seem all that important to her, and that the relationships would probably fade anyway so why not try to have some variety.

After high school she decided to go into film studies, she didn't feel all that comfortable in front of the camera but she did still want to work in the film business, whether that be making or appreciating them. Her relationships slowed down in university as well, while she did have quite a few of them, they were more long lasting and meant more to her, even if she was still flirty to everyone she met. This was also when she started reviewing movies on her blog, it wasn't much but the ad revenue did give her a little more money to work with.
Other: Her music taste is mostly "underground" hip-hop and indie pop. I love books.

I've been listening to a lot of Hip-Hop I've never listened to before this weekend. MF Doom, Madvillian, A Tribe Called Quest, Ol' Dirty Bastard's solo stuff, and Black Star right now. I think it's just summer that makes me want to listen to hip-hop, I dunno I just have some connection with that genre and summer. I've liked everything I listened to this weekend though, which is good.

Alright, sorry for not having the IC up yet, I'm going to try to have it up tomorrow night if I don't get caught up with schoolwork.

Well it's not exactly that rules were relaxed more like there were less members therefore it would be easier to slip out of the camp without being noticed. The flipside though is that because there are less members it would take less time to realize someone is missing.

It's less that they survived because they were chosen and more because they survived and the Annihilator said they were chosen. In my mind he was already a little deranged to begin with and then when the Apostate happened his own psyche led him to believe that he was left there for a purpose. He was however charismatic, leading many to join his cult and as his own legend grew more wanted in. He then became somewhat of a profit, having the final say in choosing those whom he thought had been chosen by a higher power to stay to defend what he sees as "the good" and those whom he thought were the evil. That's all I'll say for now without getting into pre-Apostate background, because that'll ruin the fun of finding out through playing now won't it.

The story will basically take place in the NYC area before branching off to a bit of the surrounding state. Characters will find themselves in that area and I would recommend finding smaller groups between everyone before the stories eventually intertwine with that of The Seer's group. That being said it doesn't have to be that way, we can have the characters all meet up at the very start and then they start to learn the character traits of others before finally setting off as bigger group.

As an aside, if no one signs up for the Children of God I think I'll go about controlling some characters for that, they won't be initially present but there may be some random encounters along the way.

All people who have posted complete sheets are accepted. Those that are yet to be completed look fine regardless and will probably be accepted.

I was thinking of rolling up a hippie farmer who might have been a former CoG member, but I'm still workin' on that.

I'm going to have to agree to MatthiasAngel in that it would probably be really hard for them because of the CoG's mandate. Maybe if they were in the cult early and got out before it became what it is at the time of the RP it might work but even then the CoG would be after him in one way or another. The way I think this could work is if he were to get out of the organization without them immediately knowing of it, then going to a place at least a little far from their main camp to set up their farm.

I'll have a CS up within the next couple of hours. By the way, exactly what time and date did 'The Apostate' happen? I plan to put a flashback in my opening post.

It would have happened at around noon about 6-7 years before the RP takes place.
