That's kind of what I meant. I guess reversing gravity wasn't the right word. I meant that the ground suddenly becoming the ceiling and gravity acting accordingly would cause anyone not strapped in to fall on their heads. I guess I could have said reversing the polarity of gravity, but yea, definitely meant changing orientation.I was kind of leaning towards Landers as well.

"Men, we led those dumb bugs out to the middle of nowhere to keep them from getting their filthy claws on Earth. But we stumbled onto somethin' they're so hot for that they're scrambling over each other to get it. Well, I don't care if it's God's own anti-son-of-a-bitch machine or a giant hula hoop, we're not gonna let 'em have it! What we will let them have is a belly full of lead and a pool of their own blood to drown in!"

-A marine, guess who?

Join the Landers, and kick ass while making it PERSONAL

Don't get me wrong, there are most certainly dropships on the Vigilance. The question is whether or not they would be player or NPC controlled since there would be very little to do other than land and sit around for awhile. Maybe the dropships could be given bomber capabilities and somehow fulfill multiple roles to keep things interesting?

I'd really advise making them similar to helicopters today. Multipurpose, they can be gunships, medical evac, dropships, all of that, but again, all up to you

Hmmm.. Interested... Fighter Pilot maybe... Landmarine also sounds like fun times... Would there happen to be any gunship/dropships to fly?

I'd hope so. Or not
What's cooler?
Literally smashing into another ship's hull and taking over it, or is doing a flyby into the breach?
I'd say flyby into the breach would be nice, but GM's thing.

Looks fine so far. Just note that technology is slightly behind that of the Halo universe, no shield generating, armored exoskeletons like the Mjolnir armors. Exoskeletons are quite rudimentary at this point and things such as carapace armor are not commonly found on soldiers.

I had guessed that might be the case. The pic is a placeholder, really.
Full Name: Lieutenant Colonel John Harrison

Gender: Male (cis scum accusations abound)

Age: 39

Branch of Service: FSA Landers

Rank: Lieutenant Colonel

Military Occupational Specialty: Field officer, tactical force commander

Personality: Harrison is a cigar smoking, gun laundering, man with a lifetime of experience with weaponry and the military. Harrison is a well trained man with an arrogant, yet disciplined attitude, with the constant look of a iron willed man on his face. People comment about how he was "born" to be in the Landers, and that's actually very true, since he actually enjoys his work, and has had the tactical mind an officer in the Marines need since childhood. He will obey orders from his superiors, and usually get what's wanted done, but has a certain dislike for being commanded by other's, which isn't visible. He's also a natural born leader, who know's exactly what to say to his men, and when, and usually treats his men harshly, but is well known, wherever he's known, for being very fair.

He's also a special sort of person when it comes to personal emotions, as he's known to have a very cold anger, which is rare in the Landers, or at least stereotypically. He's also quite patient with most things, although he puts up the farce of being uninterested or impatient in technicalities, details, and slowness on the part of his men.

Biography:

Quite WIP. Really WIP. VERY WIP.
What kind of personal weaponry tech is there? I'm guessing eletromagnetically fired kinetic's, because this isn't that far in the future, but I just wanted to know.

Also, yeah, reserving marine officer (Lt. Colonel)

Hopefully, 38 isn't that old anymore

Hemry? Who are we referring to here? I know who Heinlein is, Starship Troopers and that jazz. I will most likely use NATO ranks but will make my own ranking system if time permits. For those asking if there is room. Nobody has reserved any spots yet. It will pretty much be post quality mixed in with first come first serve once the OOC goes up. Also feel free to ask whatever questions you have now, since they may not be answered by the OOC and I want to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Wrong guy, I was referring to Campbell. I am on a roll of mistakes today.

I'm wondering how I can find a way to push AC/DC in to the future.

Dammit dubstep and techno, despite my like for you, you took hard rock away. And that's not acceptable.

Espatier is just a fancy word with no dictionary definition. It supposedly originates from the French language and basically means Marine, though people have been using the term as a sort of "Space Soldier" or "Space Marine" In the end you're just arguing tomato and tomato. But I see what you mean. Technically Marine refers to water, though in popular science fiction the spaceships are still considered Navy.

"Tomato with tomato"
-Knight, 2014

I'm going to steal that line. But I get your going for. Its not Heinlein, its... Campbell Marines? Yeah, I think thats it. In the end, arguing about something you've set and what is obvious is an utterly dumb maneuver on my part. NATO Marine ranks, other country, or is there a different ranking system?

Historically, it has been Marines that have been deployed from naval ships. It's only fitting that in an intergalactic that Marines would be the military force being deployed. This was true within the British, French and German Empires too, not just the United States. Mhm.

I know, I know. I just have the mindset of not using the Marines that much, because I've been in a load of sci-fi Rp's for a while that use espatiers, which is what is likely the most realistic space armed force, so sorry about that.
