Back in business and updated the opening post! :) So, I am game. Are you?
Seems interesting.
I might have a couple OCs that might fit.

Awesome! I will impose some world specific concepts though. Nothing outrageous so adaptation shouldn't be a big hurdle, if at all needed.
The game post is up: HERE
Reminding everyone who have prepared and are preparing characters for Children of Avveel that the application window closes in about 11 hours (23:59 GMT+1, Oslo time). After which I will do a last check on the characters and pick the ones who will get to join this journey! I have already received a few great characters and I am looking forward to receiving the ones I've yet to receive!

Greetings to one and all,

I hope my post finds you well and healthy. After a time of absence, I am drawn here again, to explore worlds and stories with you. I am therefore opening the door again to the world of Idumea, a medieval fantasy world with many unknown corners. May I present to you a story of a small rural town of Avveel and its children, surrounded by a vast blue lake, green fields and mountains, the final stop on the way to the City of the King.

Welcome to Idumea

A royal messenger rode into a town, calling attention from everyone within the reach of his voice. From his tone and the way he arrived, in a rush, there was no question that whatever he was about to say was important, urgent even. Once there was silence and he had the attention of all, he took a scroll with a royal coat of arms painted on its backside – a seated lion resting its paw on a shield and a crown over its head like a divine halo. He cleared his throat and began to read...

"Hear all citizens! King Gonagas, the Lord of this land and the Defender of the people, has sent out a decree to all cities, towns and villages; to all who are now living within the boundaries of the Kingdom. Hear the words of your King!

"From King Mikill Gonagas to all ready and able who are willing to take up arms in defence of the Realm,

"'The Kingdom is facing a great threat from the surrounding countries and the lands round about it, which requires immediate action. To protect the freedom of the people and the independence of our beautiful kingdom, I, the King, will send a dispatch of the Royal Guard joined with all the volunteers who are given a rank of a private in the Guard, on a pre-emptive quest to strengthen the position of the Kingdom and our ability to defend it.

Report at the gates of Helsset, the City of the King, before the harvest season begins.

May the hand of The Guardian be over us all.'"

This was the tidings the messenger came with. You are a person of remarkable skill and talent in your art be it swordsmanship, controlling the supernatural and the elements, stealth, alchemy or anything else. Regardless of the questions and doubts the strange and unexpected open call aroused, you answered and left for Helsset. Whether it was glory or adventure, title or rank, revenge or revolution. You had your reasons.

You met a group of other volunteers in the previous village you traveled through, the village of Giron - the last at least somewhat politically meaningful community on this streak before arriving to Helsset. Since Giron, you have been traveling together as a party. That was three days ago.

Interested? Make noise, ask questions. The game needs 3 or 4 player characters, I will play environment and non-player characters.

The game will take place in a rural village of Avveel, we'll see about continuation to Helsset once we get to the end of this story. We will stop in the village for the night to rest and restock. The game will have a good deal of sociality, significant decisions and combat.

Aaawlrighty then. Take a break over a weekend and things happen :S

@Lord Santa Let's say all of us take until next Monday from this game so that you can clear your situation. Will you be able to continue playing with full attention? If not, I might have to consider closing the shop unless others have the motivation to see through the story I've written.
@Lord Santa play just your departure from the current situation. I will then introduce you to the square. @Baklava you can play a second turn before me.
Go ahead @Lord Santa :)
Much better @Lord Santa! Much better :)

Sorry @Baklava! There was just too much inconsistency so I couldn't let it slide..

@BytheSpleen@Shikaru if you guys are okay with it, I will take a few extra rounds with Lord Santa and Baklava and you two can interact as you go. Just to get through getting a doctor a bit quicker?
@Lord Santa I must intervene here :) A good writing but Steven was not there when the old man gave Abel the directions to the inn. Second, the horse was pulling a wagon so there was no saddle. Therefore I must ask you to rewrite the post =\ sorry man.
A new round finally! I hope everyone has recovered from Christmas and new Year's celebrations! ;)

@BytheSpleen let @Shikaru post first and then you can post. @Baklava & @Lord Santa just post in what ever order you end up posting :)
@BytheSpleen@Shikaru

The two shadowy creatures left a bloody trail behind them as they wobbled onward across the fields of grass. The green turned to crimson that slowly turned darker and darker as the blood of the cougar dried in the sun. It was a long way for the two of that size.

Transparent, ink-like and thin tentacles of smoke surrounded the carcass of the dead cougar briefly before they dug hungry into the limbs and extensions of the beast. After they disappeared, without a sound, without a breath, the body of the cougar tried getting up on it's legs. Without it's other rear leg it fell accompanied by a disgusting sound of flesh. Slowly it got up again but it remained sitting. It was a gruesome sight. It's jawless head was hanging from the left shoulder. All that still kept it in place was the meat that had not been cut by Steven's halberd.

@Lord Santa@Baklava

Clearly disappointed, exhausted and given up, Säätur just remained sitting on the ground at Steven's feet. He didn't say a word and kept his eyes at his feet.

"Lion..? There ain't no lions here boy. But there is a pack of mountain cougars near the Rocky Gate." The old man looked at Steven with his searching old eys. "They never come down from the mountains..." With that he became pondersome and silent again. "It must've been a hungry stray then," he mumbled under his breath.

Abel's demand for doctor's location took him back to the urgency of the moment. "Doctor? Remember where I told the Inn was? Just go diagonally across the square to the opposite corner. It is the brown two floor house with a red circle on the door, on the long side of the square." The old man made a throwing gesture with his hand to emphasize the "on the other side" part.

The old man jumped off the wagon with a cup of water and went to Steven and Säätur. He gave the cup to Steven. Then looking at Abel he said "if you hurry, you can borrow my horse. It will be faster than running. The doctor is not as strong and fast as your friend here."
