Sorry about that man. :/
I'm planning on them being around middle school age. (O.o) If everyone wants them older, I don't really have a problem with that, but I thought middle school age would be interesting.
Stone would be under Earth. As for which elements are taken, the answer is everything but Light. :3

Introduction:

Though not common knowledge, the town of Rayville used to be the site of gruesome experiments to unlock the hidden potential of the human mind during the Cold War around twenty years ago. It wasn't really even a lab-town as there was only one laboratory and the 'research' was done on the edge of the town's borders. The little town was fairly prosperous due to the scientists living there for a few years, though the loss of federal funding to the laboratory because of a lack of results led to the scientists leaving and the town falling into a recession for about a decade. The town was found to be nearby a source of iron and silver, however, and the resulting boom quickly revitalized the town to what it had been. New trades and professions coming about, as well as more mines being set up in the surrounding area, meant that the town never really faltered again. Nowadays it is known as one of the most family-friendly and prosperous towns in the nation and is quickly approaching the title of city.

This is the town-city where you and your friends have lived for most of your lives and nothing has ever really happened. In fact, it was so easy to sweep everything about the town's shadier side under the rug because there were no evident consequences. But it isn't until the beginning of summer after fifth grade that things change. You see, the scientists had failed to produce results because they hadn't been using the right subjects. The methods and procedures that they used to try and bestow the abilities to people weren't to blame. As you can probably guess, you and your friends are the subjects that they should have used for their test. During one of the first nights of summer, you and your friends are dared by the local bully, Richard Slynn, and his gang to spend the night in the haunted house on the outskirts of town. While the legends surrounding the creepy building are what you would expect, the fact of the matter is that the building was the laboratory all those years ago. The ambient energy that had been produced by the experiments was enough to trigger the latent ability in each of you, resulting in the sudden ability to manipulate an element. What you do with it and how you move on is up to you and your friends. Have a good summer!

The Elements:

Each of the elements in the classical cycle have a sub-element of sorts that is closely associated with the actual element and can be manipulated much like the actual element, though it is more exhausting than normal. As for Light and Dark, they have no sub-elements due to the fact that they are outside of the classical cycle and are 'pure' in a sense.

Character Skeleton:

Appearance:
Name:
Age:
Gender:
Element:
Personality: (I would really like this to fit somewhat with your characters element. This is because the element is determined by the personality of the character. I personally don't care what aspect of the element you use for this, just as long as it's justifiable. ;))
History:
Secret: (Something embarrassing would be great here, as it would allow for deeper interaction among the characters and provides more depth)
Other:

Characters:

Devon Tyler (Soul)
Nixie Strand (Rarity)
Anwen Dyre (Mad Scarlet)
Aidyn Belliveau (TaliPaendrag)
Christen Walker (Pathfinder)
Luke Alexander (Chezka)
@Soul: I thought that it would be something that they really wouldn't want someone knowing. It doesn't even have to be all that humiliating, just a tad embarrassing. Maybe they secretly collect something that they might be laughed at for, or maybe they're involved in a sport that often gets made fun of. Use your imagination! :D If you don't want to do that, you don't have to, but I thought that it would be interesting and provide more depth to interactions.

@Nobodyman123: Thanks for your interest! :3
First off, thanks for your interest, Rarity. :D That means we only have Light left.

As for my idea of linking the current events to the Cold War, I guess from the lack of response that that is okay. :3 If not, correct me now.

This isn't so much for plot, but I thought that it would strengthen character interaction if every character had an embarrassing secret of some kind. I'm not sure if I want the characters to all know each others' secrets, as they are best friends, or if its something that they discover as the roleplay goes on, but I do think that it will add some depth to the characters. Thoughts? :P

Now I'll be getting the OOC up, so wait anxiously for that. ;)
Okay, so I'm going to go ahead and say that something in the house activated a latent ability in the children that gave them access to their powers. While the kids probably won't know the reason why they suddenly developed powers, I think it might be interesting if the site was an old lab facility, perhaps during the Cold War when making psychic soldiers was an idea?, and that the energy from the experiments was what triggered the powers. That might also be a good way to bring Feds into the plot later on. ;)

All reservations are accepted! :3 So far, we only have Light and Water left. I'll explain more about the elements when I get the OOC up.

It seems like number two is the winner then. :P

Speaking of the OOC, I apologize, but I won't be able to get it up until tomorrow, when I don't have to work. I didn't get home until around midnight, and I have to be up a decent hour tomorrow, so I just didn't have the time. Again, I apologize. Hopefully we can get the last two people tonight though! :D
There are some things that I'm going to need to discuss with you guys before doing the first idea, as that's the one with most interest at the moment.

First: Is everyone okay with the elements? I'm not sure how everyone feels about having Light and Dark as elements with the other four, so that's why I'm asking. :3

Second: How exactly should the kids obtain their abilities? Should it be something that anyone could learn, but they have an affinity for that leads to them developing the abilities without intention? Should it be straight-up magic? I was thinking of something along the lines of crystals that hold the elemental energy and imbue it to the kids once they discover them.

Third: Regardless of how they come across their abilities, I want them to discover them in a haunted house that the kids are dared to spend the night in. So, I would like to know what haunted house you guys would prefer:
1, 2, or 3. Just let me know which one you guys want and the one that gets the most votes will be used. :3 It will also kind of set up the setting for the rest of the town as well, but that's not as important and much more flexible for me. :P
For the first one, I figure that the elements will be the typical ones: Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Light, and Dark. :3 That just seems to be the best way to do it. Of course, the specializations of the elements, like Ice for Water, belong to that element as well.

@Soul: I'll let you reserve darkness. :3 I'll be reserving fire, as I have a character for it that I've been wanting to play. :P

Thanks for your interest guys! :D I'll work on fleshing ideas one and three out today. I should be able to get the OOC for the first idea up tonight after I get off work. :3 Feel free to ask any questions, though be warned that I probably won't be able to answer until much later. Sorry about that.
I was thinking more along the lines of five or six elements. :D An exact listing will take me some time to finalize, but the main four will be there.
