Hey there! Welcome to my profile.
I'm Taran, a dark speculative fiction writer, reader, gamer, and roleplayer. I've been roleplaying for about 15 years now—mostly one-on-one. It's been ages since I've been on any roleplaying forums, so I'm curious to see what's out there these days.
Genre Preferences
My favorite stuff is dark, morally gray, sensual, and filled with beautiful supernatural beings who don't act half as human as they might look. Give me the werewolves, vampires, witches, dark fae, and demons.
But I'm very open to exploring other realms of speculative fiction, be it historical or futuristic, brimming with aliens or zombies. What's important to me is that I'm not writing in a simple world of black and white or good and evil.
Content Preferences
I like advanced writers, but understand that nobody's craft (including my own) is perfect. I don't care if you have some typos in your posts—I care if you can write complex, interesting characters and pleasant-to-read prose that shows more than it tells.
If I had to choose, I'd pretty much always write R-rated content (my peak explicitness falls around the level of American Horror Story or Kill Bill), but PG-13 is fine with me too.
Character Preferences
As for the characters I play, I'd say I lean slightly more towards male characters, but like playing female characters as well. I'm cool with playing any gender. I do strongly prefer to play and interact with adult (18+) main characters, but I'm open to playing younger characters.
I'll do pretty much any pairing combination (MxM, FxF, FxM) too, including multi-pairing setups. I loooove playing bisexual/pansexual characters.

I've been roleplaying for about fourteen years now, starting on the good old fashioned Neopets roleplaying forum.
I'm all about speculative fiction, especially dark urban fantasy involving vampires and werewolves. Other favorites are witches and demons, but I'm usually happy to delve into other areas of speculative fiction. I lean more toward the mature content side of things without getting pornographic/splatterpunk. Think Jessica Jones or Game of Thrones.
I generally prefer one-on-one roleplays or small groups of "advanced" writers: basically, people who put a lot of work into their posts, with nuanced characters, strong imagery, flowing, grammatically-correct sentences... that kind of stuff.
Outside of roleplaying, I like RPGs and tabletop games, taking courses on various subjects, reading speculative fiction, and writing my own fiction.
It's been some time since I was part of a roleplaying community. Excited to dip my feet in again!
