"Stranger Danger"

A breeze blows over the two young girls, standing alone on the streets of Karakura. They were being watched from a distance, but strangely, the individual watching them wouldn't be sensed until a particular moment. That moment was when they disappeared completely, arriving at the scene a few meters away from where Martha stood. Now revealed to the light, the stranger's large cloak and hood are clearly visible, while their face is carefully concealed. The only visible parts of their body, their lower face and left hand, were wrapped entirely in pure white bandages.

Now that they were so close, the Quincy would almost certainly sense the stranger's reiatsu. It was suffocating but subdued, making the stranger out to be only at about the strength of an entry-level shinigami. Still, something about her presence would stick out as unusual, especially since the Quincy wouldn't have sensed her until she got close. Taking advantage of the situation, the hooded stranger steps forwards and whistles-

"That guy really ought to be in less of a hurry, leaving the two of you behind like that. Ah, a Ghost and a Quincy, fancy meeting the two of you in a place like this."

The person's voice is clearly muffled by the bandages covering their body, so their gender and tone remain a mystery. Regardless of their veiled intentions, they seem to be gazing intently at Martha from beneath their hood, as if watching to see what their next move was. As if intentionally, a tiny bit of the mysterious stranger's presence seems to leak from their disguise, revealing a vaguely hollow-like feeling. An ominous smile appears on their face, followed by a tilt of the head in Uzami's direction.

"You mind if I finish the job?"

Suddenly, a sound like an explosion hits Conference Room 4D, likely surprising everybody within. Bouncing through the now open door with a skip and a twirl, a young girl quickly maneuvers to the head of the table and triumphantly cheers-

"BUSTED!"

Cheery smile spread across her face, she allowed the crowd inside a moment to take in her appearance. She was obviously young, with natural blonde hair and striking blue eyes. She looked innocent enough at a glance, but her eyes had a mischievous glint to them, like she was privy to some joke you didn't know of. Her confidence was unmistakable as she looked around at the others in the room, smile growing larger with each new face committed to memory. She doesn't waste any time after taking in the last face, however, as she quickly proceeds to her introduction.

"Hi~, all of you! You're early-cheaters, but I forgive you, even though I~ wanted to be the first person here. Oh right," without hesitation, she switches from speaking English to greeting them in flawless Japanese and with an accompanying curtsy, "It's a pleasure to meet you!"

The girl looks proud of herself, smiling expectantly at the group before her until suddenly-

"Miss L! You get back here!"

"Ah, I've been found."

A large, friendly-looking man bursts in through the door, I.D. clutched tightly in his right hand. He approaches the blonde girl with an admonishing frown on his face, before promptly placing the I.D. around her neck-

"You purposely left your I.D. in the car and gave me the slip, didn't you?" The man sighs, turning away from the guilty expression on L's face. He pats her head, to which she responds by returning to her signature smile.

"Matsu, you worry too much! I won't get lost... I'm the Great Detective, after all! Bwhahaha~!"

L's loud, cheerful laughter fills the conference room, and the man called Matsu laughs along with her. He lets out another resigned sigh when she turns back to the group...

I'm really not good at dealing with children.

A very limited number of people actually knew about L's death, if I recall correctly. You may be right, though~!

Because L's death was never revealed to the public, could it be possible that the others think my L is the L? Or at the very least, his successor?

Is L's true successor out there? (Feel free to keep quiet if it's a plot element.)

Age: 10
Role: Detective
Personality: Upbeat and eccentric, L is commonly described as something of a child genius, with great emphasis on the "Child". Most people have a hard time not trusting her, and she has a short history of solving any case she takes on, so when her assistance was suggested to the Kira Investigation, they naturally accepted her graciously. They didn't know she was a child, though...

Still, she's every bit as intelligent as those around her, albeit a little more naive. Her specialty is thinking outside of the box, and her insight is sharper than most. She likes to play puzzles and games, and reads mystery novels on her free time. Thinks Kira is a "Pretty bad guy, who's gotta be stopped."

Why she took the Kira case: Because it's fun, and 'cause Kira's bad.
