Political Overview
The Council of Meisters
The Council of Meisters are the ones who make decisions in Goug, consisting of the Meister of each official Guild as well as one special rank, which goes by one of several different names depending on who holds the position. This position is most commonly referred to as the Mayor, and they are a Moogle who has been elected to devote their life to the benefit of Goug and Mooglekind as a whole. Their most important duties on the Council, among several others, is to moderate the decisions of the Council, to elect Honourary Meisters from the people of Goug, to oversee the development, administration and maintenance of the City of Goug, and finally to command the enlistment and deployment of the Moogle Armed Forces in times of emergency or when an enemy shows itself that has been unanimously determined to be an irreparable threat to the safety of Mooglekind.

The position of Mayor is one that comes with a great deal of responsibility and stress, but it is commonly also the most revered position any individual Moogle can have next to Legendary Meister. It is, however, not the only name for the position that exists, and shares all of its power and reverence with several other titles that can be used in its place depending on the circumstances. A Mayor who shows a great deal of expertise in at least three fields represented by an official guild may be called "Grand Meister", with the approval of the Guild Meisters who govern those particular fields. Conversely, a "People's Meister", is a Mayor elected from a position outside of the Council of Meisters. The extremely rare "Meister of Arms" is a Mayor who reached their position due to their status as a War Hero, a feat that has only occurred once since the founding of Goug.

Honourary Meisters are individuals who have been placed on the Council of Meisters due to personal merits or popular opinion, appointed to that position by the Mayor. These individuals are Meisters in name only, but are allowed to contribute to Council meetings like any other. To become an Honourary Meister, even for a short amount of time, is a great honour. It does not, however, convey nearly the same amount of respect as being a true Meister, as Honourary Meisters often possess occupations that are "Un-Mooglelike".

Outside of Goug
Moogles tend not to interact with other races beyond what is polite and necessary, and always take a very neutral standing on the affairs of others. Because they rarely get themselves involved in conflicts, they hold a healthy trading relationship with virtually every hospitable nation in the land, exchanging some of their lesser craftsmanship for necessities such as food and raw materials. Explorers from the Explorer's Guild are the rare exception to the Moogle's seclusion, often heading out on sprawling journeys across the land in search of treasure and adventure. They are a welcome sight in many a foreign city or town, as they are commonly helpful, pleasant folk who will help with all sorts of tasks in exchange for the supplies necessary to continue their journey.

The Specie's Information

Moogles are small, fuzzy creatures easily identified by their bobbing pom-pom's, bat-like wings and distinctive cry, "Kupo!". While not especially strong or sturdy, their kind excels at feats of dexterity, intellect and precision. They set themselves apart from other races with their incredible knack for tinkering, which has allowed them to evolve into a flourishing trading nation in recent times. They are, in fact, able to fly under their own power...just not all that high, or quick. They have no love of water, and will not venture into even the shallowest of pools, even in scenarios of life-and-death. Their industriousness, creativity and learning ability make them exceptional at pretty much every sort of skill, so long as they are allowed to practise and learn it. Moogles prefer to live separated from other races, with the large majority of their species living in Goug and its supporting communities.

Nah, it does. Don't worry, it's all based around a central theme, you'll see when we get to combat time~

I understand what you are going for, and I'm saying that I disapprove of it.
Hidden Ability: Presence Detection. The ability to create a complete disclosive sketch of all beings within a radius of .5 kilometers, in other words a sort of passive scrying mechanism that allows for an understanding of the enemy and the environment, to better aid with combat strategy. Regardless of complexity or status, anything can be analyzed.

As wonderful as just ripping Enkidu is, I hope you don't mind me saying that this doesn't fit with the main ability, and as such isn't really applicable in this setting. (Unless I'm mistaken, that is.)
Just thought I'd say, Tristan is supposed to be extraordinarily young. I in no way anticipated there being any other characters in the roleplay close to his age, let alone younger than him.
Tristan Daybreak
"...the Revolution's Youthful Hero"

  • Name: Tristan, or sometimes Trist.

  • Age: 13

  • Gender: Male

  • Personality: Tristan is a strong-willed, idealistic child that strongly believes in the power of good. That said, anybody that falls under the banner of Good in his mind will be excused of all acts committed in the name of justice, no matter how terrible. Likewise, even the most benevolent of acts committed by somebody he labels as evil will not change his opinion of that person, unless otherwise sanctified by somebody he sees as good.

He is childish at times, and deathly serious at others. This dual nature is most evident in times of stress, when he may switch between the two quite regularly. Fundamentally a good-natured person, despite his strong beliefs.

  • Goals / Motive: "Corruption...darkness...evil, I'll destroy it all! There has to be a better world than this, and I'm definitely going to find that future, no matter the cost."

  • Bio: In the town Tristan was born in, the villagers were dictated by a cruel but powerful warlord. This man's word was law, but his acts were notoriously horrible and unjust, so much so that a small resistance force in the town began to form against him. Tristan's parents were at the forefront of this group, and together they often recounted the ways they heroically fought against their oppressor, gathering supporters against him and generally causing him all sorts of trouble. One day, however, his parents never returned home and Tristan was left to wonder about where they might have disappeared to. When he left home to shop for food, he was faced with his parents and a few of their closest friends, hanging in the market square for all to see.

Driven to despair, Tristan fled the town and vowed that he would destroy the Warlord and everything he represented. That's when he found the Button...

After defeating the Warlord, he found various letters in the man's lair, along with the twin swords which he chose to take up as his own. The letters bore the mark of the Empire, and when he got the old woman next door to read them to him, he discovered that the man had actually been the mayor of the town, and that he had been working for the Empire this entire time. Infuriated at the Empire for supporting evil, Tristan turned his eyes to the immeasurable power of Aaester and once again made a vow. He vowed that he would bring it down, that he would uproot the evil in his homeland and forge a path to a better, happier world, one entirely devoid of the cruelty and injustice he had grown accustomed to.

During his long and arduous journey towards the Capital, Tristan encountered all sorts of horrible things and was forced to explore the capabilities of the Hero's Button. Through an interesting string of events, he found himself recruited into the Revolution, on the condition that he would be allowed to join their most elite. Once he had proven himself in secret, he was sent off with the intention of joining a very special branch of the NRD, although neither him or the Steel Hearts knew anything about the other. All they knew was that he was a powerful, Tengu-wielding swordsman, one who was set on destroying the Empire's corruption and had joined up with the revolution in order to see that goal realized...

  • Tengu:

  • Name: Tristan, the Hero's Button. (Sometimes called the Super Button or Champion's Mark, but is rightfully only named after its owner.)

  • Creation: Made from the essence of a great, powerful Calamity Beast that could only be beaten through countless sacrifices, and was eventually defeated by the Great Hero's own hand. According to him, this Button is the incarnation of that day's bloodshed, and as such seems to possess the power of an entire army.

  • Type: Utility

  • Required Compatibility:
*Mentality of a Hero* In order to be compatible with the Hero's Button, one must have a disposition similar to that of the man it was made for, known only in legends as "The Great Hero." Compatible individuals are often idealistic, stubborn folk who are determined to accomplish some absurd, unrealistic goal, usually in the name of Justice, or Love.

  • Appearance: A simple, silver button, worn over Tristan's heart.

  • Main Ability:
*Call to Arms* The power of the Hero that inspires others, drawing out power from within individuals or objects to enhance their capabilities. The Button powers up allies and their equipment relative to how strong they are, meaning that stronger targets receive a larger boost than weak ones. The amount of power granted is not increased or decreased depending on the number of targets affected, however the owner must be careful not to focus too much, or they might "tunnel vision" their amplification ability and fail to affect all of their intended targets. When used to affect only its user, the ability is instead called "Battle Mode".

  • Hidden Ability:
*HERO Mode* The power of absolute victory that draws boundless power from ones surroundings, greatly enhancing the owner's physical abilities based on the amount of power absorbed. People and objects around the user lose power, while the user and their equipment rapidly strengthen. Does not affect other Tengu users, unless they are not in close proximity of their Tengu.

When in HERO Mode, one becomes able to preform special "HERO Moves", which focus all of the gathered power into a single action. When a HERO Move is used, the user loses a portion of the power used, weakening their HERO state by a fraction. Because it takes a certain degree of skill and strength to fully utilize one's power, even when the power they possess is extraordinary, the HERO Mode becomes noticeably more effective when used by more skilled users.

  • How did your character obtain their Tengu?: After he set out on his journey, he found the button by chance in the shallows of a river as he dangled his feet in. The sharp part of the button pierced his foot, causing him to investigate. He took it with him as a good luck charm, since it was so strange and it had shown itself to him just after such an important decision. Later on, he discovered its...special qualities.

  • Equipment / Assets:
*Dawn&Dusk* Tristan's twin longswords, once belonging to a certain warlord. Not strangers to bloodshed, these are specially forged and extremely dangerous weapons, although they are not actually Tengu. Because of his small stature, Tristan ordinarily keeps Dusk sheathed at his side when fighting, using it as a backup for if Dawn is ever lost or damaged. Only usable together when Tristan is empowered past a certain point, such as during HERO Mode.

*NRD Supporters* Individuals that have seen the extent of Tristan's prowess, and are able to vouch for him when his strength or identity is challenged. This is how he managed to get himself recruited into the Steel Hearts, and through their letter of recommendation, he is able to identity himself to members of the Revolution. This is especially important since very few people know that he is, in fact, a child.

*Custom-fit Armour* His combat gear, which was made for him during his stay with certain members of the Revolution. Made for his small size, and still plenty effective at protecting him from basic arms.

Recruitment is temporarily closed, yes. Though frankly, I'm worried I may have to open it up again soon because already people seem to have disappeared, as evidenced by the fact that I accepted 13 characters and only 11 people have made posts in the IC so far.

This is one of the rare stretches of time when I'm too busy to post to a sufficient level. I will get a post up sometime soon, when things are manageable.
