Ability: Regeneration / "Revive" - Repairing objects or biological material at a molecular level, allowing for rapid healing of injuries or fully repairing even the most critically damaged objects. Because of its nature, this process can be carried out inversely to cause disintegration, although this takes notably more concentration as it isn't quite as natural. While it can be used on things besides the user, such applications require intent, the process is only automatic with her own body. This ability does not remove pain, and the process itself is actually quite painful, but its user has grown so accustomed to it that she no longer shows any weakness even when recovering from fatal injuries. The ability's strength is on the level of restoring entire limbs if necessary, although the time required to regenerate something increases exponentially with its size.

Personality: Outwardly upbeat and amiable, it's no small wonder that Mari has gathered an almost cult-like following of sorts. She gives off an impressive, yet approachable presence that draws others close to her and gives her an undeniable natural charisma. She lives life to enjoy herself, so she naturally clashes with lawful or overly serious types, making her disliked among authority figures. Still, she's extremely reliable in a pinch, and her unnatural determination and confidence has the extraordinary ability to invigorate and empower those around her. She's always the first into a new challenge, she fights the hardest and the longest, but because of her devotion to her goals, she also crashes harder than anybody else when she fails. Unlike many of the other Level 5's, her mental abnormalities and instability remain mostly imperceptible under ordinary circumstances, and as a result she has been deemed "Completely Stable."

History

Seiga was the only daughter born to a pair of refugees who sought safety in Konohagakure after the rise and fall of Sai the Conquerer. While she's lived most of her life in poverty, she's also received a great amount of knowledge from her parents that sets her apart from other, similarly aged shinobi. Her upbringing was harsh and strict, but her parents took good care with raising her to be the great ninja that they never got the chance to be. Her mother trained her in Taijutsu, putting her in a brutal daily regime that pushed her body to her limits even at the young age of five, while her father worked wonders on her mind with his specialized hypnosis. They both pooled their knowledge into the girl, knowing full well that ninja would be tremendously important in the coming years, and with their ruthless tutoring they forged a daughter that was already a capable kunoichi by the age of ten.

This was when her parents died, Seiga herself isn't aware of what happened, but they were slain by one of the smouldering remnants of Sai's terrible reign. When she reached the ninja academy, she was living on her own and without anybody to care for her. She kept with her parent's training regime despite her new found freedom, clinging desperately to the last semblance of love they had left for her, eventually graduating from the academy and becoming a genin with nothing but sheer force of will. Now, she still lives on her own, but she's begun to reach out to others for the love and praise she seeks, by diligently helping others in the village and doing as many missions as possible, she's managed to earn the respect of a few others in the village.

Personality:
A ruthless and headstrong individual by nature, Seiga isn't known for giving up or giving anything less than one-hundred percent effort at all times. While she can seem uncaring, she's a diligent and helpful person who doesn't care much for the rules when it comes to accomplishing her goals, but she's also a survivalist who won't risk her own life when situations are dire, and she's definitely not against running away when things turn against her. While she's analytic and perceptive, she's also prone to letting her emotions get the better of her, often putting her or others at risk.

With the weight of her trauma and emotional isolation, she may be potentially unstable, as is she's already quite vulnerable to her emotions, but it could get significantly worse if she experiences too much more suffering. At dangerous times, her parent's hypnotism can keep her alive and get her out of dangerous situations, but it can't do anything about her injuries or make her do anything she isn't capable of.

Combat Style:
Seiga is a natural at taijutsu and manipulating the chakra flow in her own body, two skills that make her into more of a close-ranged fighter than anything else. She strikes hard and fast, a specialist of hit-and-run tactics who deftly dodges in and out of her foes range while throwing fast, accurate kicks whenever she can. By releasing chakra in explosive bursts from her feet and hands, she makes up for her lack of raw strength with deep, penetrating strikes and high stopping power. Despite her taijutsu prowess, she is still capable of using Genjutsu and Ninjutsu, usually integrating it with her taijutsu for great effect.

Description:
A secret technique to achieve the opening of one of the eight gates through careful training of the body combined with a specialized type of hypnosis. While it takes a short while to induce fully, once activated the user effectively opens the first gate, the Gate of Opening. Because it is primarily an ability that affects the user's mind, its difficulty and effectiveness is relative to their mental state rather than physical capabilities, and while it does put strain on the body, it only requires basic physical conditioning to withstand. There are no longer any shinobi out there who know this technique, the only reason Seiga is able to induce it on herself is because the hypnosis was planted into her mind while her parents were still alive. They took their secret to the grave, so there is no way for her to improve upon or alter the parameters of the technique, limiting her to a minute of opening once or twice a day.

A technique that involves the explosive release of chakra from particular points in the user's body, usually the hands or feet. A simple stealth technique once used by elite assassins of the Hidden Leaf to hide from all watching eyes, this technique allows the user to merge themselves into the surrounding shadows to become virtually unseen. They remain detectable via chakra sensing, but other traces of their presence will be erased entirely, allowing them to hide even in plain sight so long as there are nearby shadows. Countered by removing the shadows which the user hides in, and while they may seem to fade into nothingness, they are still entirely vulnerable to attack.

A hypnotic fighting technique triggered by seeing the user prepare a special feint, causes the feint to appear real and creates the illusion of being attacked. In the instant the enemy's attention to directed to the illusionary attack, the user has an ample moment to maneuver or attack completely unseen by the enemy. Can be seen through if expected, but because of the inconspicuous initiation it is more than capable of catching wary opponents off guard, especially if mixed with non-illusionary attacks.
