Question, what exactly are the birds "orders", are they aiming to pester me, attack me, blind me?
Blithe peeked out from behind her shield to see the results of her attack, not quite in time to dodge, though in time to see the vial incoming. As Blithe activated her Burst of Speed to sprint away, the vial shattered off the edge of her shield, toxic gas being released into the air.

Whether or not Blithe would get poisoned would depend on how quickly the gas spread, how far, and the mere luck of whether Blithe's surprise expressed itself in a gasp or another dead sprint step. But luck was on Blithe's side, as her instinct of "Auuugh, she's got a bomb too" provoked the reaction of "breathless sprint my way out of here".

Blithe skidded to a halt behind another tree for cover to catch her breath and reexamine Gunnaya's position, giving Gunnaya time to climb up or down and generally recover from her movement.
Alright, so we're at a situation where we both need a little luck. It's practically a coin flip on Blithe's reaction of, "would I accidentally breath in from surprise". Meanwhile, pine trees are not exactly the most suited to jumping from one to another. They tend to have a phalanx of pine needles pointed out in most directions, and their branches get small rather quickly away from the center.

During the opening exchanges of a good-natured fight, it's generally assumed that both fighters can be a little lucky, just to keep things going so it's not, "Well, in all honesty, because you shot a bow at me while we were talking and I'm not a superhero, I have a pretty decent chance of dying right there, regardless of trying to duck for cover."
"No, I have a full platoon hidden down my trousers. We elves are very stealthy." Blithe noticed the bow and immediately ducked into her shield, hiding her body and head.

A slight rustling could be heard as Blithe fished something from her pack, that was then lobbed into the tree's inner area from behind the shield. And when it broke against the harsh bark, it exploded into flames. The snow was fresh and unmelted currently, and thus tree was rather dry on the inside. Gunnaya might want to do something about that.

Gunnaya would waken to the sound of harsh footfalls upon the crisp snow, combined with the muted creaks and clinks of well made armor. And then the far less subtle, CLONK CLONK of a shield banging against a nearby tree. "Hello! I'm sorry to assail my words upon on your poor defective senses, but they seem to have lead you into Elven territory. I'll be escorting you out now."

Below Gunnaya currently resided a rather grumpy, speciest, and cold elf. Though bundled as best she could, she was still wearing plate armor in dead winter. Blithe Marrowdwell's shield was on her arm, but her blade was not drawn yet, her free hand impatiently tapping away on her other arm. The elf's eyes were glaring away at Gunnaya, not quite so well hidden as she thought.

Haha understandable. Well if it's alright by you, I'll set the stage IC, and you can hop in once the Star Wars hype has died down a bit XD

That'd be wonderful.
Probably some woodland realm the elves consider their own. A likely meeting between these two characters I could imagine would be that Gunnaya is in search of some particular ingredient, and Blithe stands between her and her goal because, "Neener neener, this is our land."

And, because this is an arena roleplay, it comes to blows. :P

*Sorry for the Delay, friends are having a star wars marathon in preparation for tomorrow. Between that and my finals, I may be out of useful communication for about another 16-17 hours.

Name:Blithe Marrowdwell
Occuption: Warrior, Guard
Gender: Female
Age: Early Adult
Size: 6'1", 180

Equipment:
Armor: Styled as appearance, but with some rather more practical chainmail in place of the green frilly stuff, and helmet, and a few more plates, basically equivalent to a full suit of gothic plate mail. The appearance is more in line with dress armor. Blithe also bears a full shield, wood with metal edges, with pointed bottom, suitable to be thrust into the ground and used as cover.

Melee: Blithe bears a long handled blade, a little tiring to use one handed but possible.

Ranged: She bears small crossbow with fifteen bolts. It's positively "cute" sized, as Blithe is already heavily loaded down.

Consumable: One general topical magical salve of healing/antidote, one magical "flashbang", and one "alchemist's fire" style effective Molotov.

Upgrades Beyond Normal Human:
Elf - Keener sight and hearing, tire slowly, longer lifespan. This means that even as, by elven standards, an early adult, Blithe's martial experience is considerable, while still combined with a body in the prime of youth.

Her Plate Armor is even lighter and more maneuverable than normal gothic plate mail, though not by much. Blame the elves for being better at everything.

Her Sword's construction involves specially prepared meteoric iron and other magical gobbledegook, making incredibly destructive against glammor and illusion and harmful against magic in general.

Warrior Arts-
Blithe's training has included the use of various mystical "warrior" techniques. Generally, they work by expending her magical energy to perform superhuman physical feats. Depending on the enemy, her total amount of energy is variable for balance purposes, but for default, we'll say 5 with no unit. :P

Burst of Speed- 1 Unit
Blithe gains a temporary boost in speed, equivalent to if Blithe attempted to suddenly sprint at full speed. If Blithe actually is doing that, the result is effectively doubled speed. This lasts for up to three seconds. It does not work very well while already in contact with something, but even a single step can build up some decent momemtum (given her armor).

Revitalization- 1 Unit
Blithe carries a heavy armament and, even with its extraordinary craftsmanship and natural endurance, sometimes a little extra stamina is helpful. Removes some fatigue and reenergizes Blithe somewhat. This is not a temporary boost, but it is not a complete relief of condition either.

Battle Yell- 2 Units
Blithe is capable of doing that yell and blast everything around you away thing.
@Jotunn Draugr Hey ho.

Before we start proper, we need to agree on the terrain of the battlefield and discuss if we want to have any story elements.

I would think the terrain would definitely need to allow you room to maneuver and summon your birds, as I loaded my character with enough mojo assuming I would have to deal with that.

Haha thanks for the advice. I've made a couple fixes to better clarify her abilities. Your character certainly looks like a daunting opponent, but Gunnaya's up for the challage!

Shall we move this to its own thread, and get things underway?

Indeed, we're at that point. :)
