Late, but guns should be phased out of the US slowly. Banning anything more deadly than an air rifle should be the ultimate goal, but there are too many guns on the market right now, and banning them all would result in a huge amount of guns in the hands of criminals and nutters.School shootings are only 1% of all gun deaths. The common purpose of the Eight Coalition was to oppose the Treaty of Constantinople. It very much falls under the definition of a coalition, and is much more creative a name than the generic "The Allies".
You're all fundamentally misunderstanding the name.
