Name: Cadell ap Owein
Age: 24
Appearance: Pale skin, thick blond hair with short and scruffy beard, strong, several scars along the arms and torso, midrange height, green eyes. Day to day, Cadell will wear a simple red or blue tunic. In battle, he is heavily armored.

Backstory: a brief narration of your character's biography.
Cadell was fortunate enough to be born into the highest nobility in Powys, high in the fortified mountains of his pagan people. His father, Owein, was the younger brother to the King of Powys, and as such he received fine treatment. But despite his relatively pompous upbringing, Cadell always had a thirst for adventure. He’d frequently skip his lessons and sneak out at night to explore, and put great effort into his martial training. Owein, being a great diplomat himself, tried to teach Cadell his skills, but he would have none of it. In Cadell’s mind, the only real way to keep his land and his people safe from Christian or Norse invasion was through blood and iron, not words and marriage.
Cadell did learn one thing from his father: never trust the infidel enemy. His father told him the stories about the Norse invasions generations ago, and about the frequent attacks on Powys by their Christian neighbors. Cadell was driven by these stories, but the danger of infidel attack always felt like a far off threat. That is, until his 16th birthday. During the celebrations, Cadell’s little sister wandered off into the village. Search parties were sent out, and Cadell and Owein found her being raped by a pair of peasant men. In a fit of rage Cadell grabbed a nearby wood cutting axe and attacked, killing one man and brutally injuring the other. The young girl later died of her own injuries taken in the assault, and the father slipped into a deep depression which would eventually kill him as well. The men were found to be Christian, and since then Cadell has made a vow to defend his home and people from the worshipers of the false crucified god.
Two years later, a raid into Dyfed was being organized by King Glynn. Cadell, who had been honing his combat skills since his sister’s dead, begged the king to allow him to go. King Glynn agreed, and later that month an inexperienced but eager Cadell left Powys for the first time to gain glory. When they received word that amore numerous army was approaching to drive them off, it was Cadell who advised that the majority of their force hide in the hills and have the cavalry lure them into an ambush. In the ensuing melee, Cadell showed his ability as a warrior. The young man was fierce and brave in the face of the enemy and slayed many of their number. The plan worked, and Cadell returned home with not only wealth, but pride and praise as well. Cadell used the money gained in the raid to purchase a set of armor, as well as a large shield and waraxe.
He has since lead the armies of his liege in countless battles. When King Glynn died and Alwyn took the throne, Cadell was one of his cousin’s most outspoken supporters against some less loyal nobles. His stance against the Christians and Norsemen remains unshaken, and he would rather die a true Celt then embrace the “true faith” of Christ. Still, his highest priority is still to protect his people, and to that end he will slay a thousand infidels every day until the gods see fit for him to die.
