Lol, aaw *pats wolf on the head* I have had the same feelings trying to find a classic World of Darkness game on here.
@rocketrobie2The brain eaters are Illithids/mindflayers from DnD but I do believe they were in Skyrim as well.

@2b3heartI play 3.5/pathfinder never could get used to anything above that
@BrodZ11711(The front door slowly opened, showing the old butler. His left brow rose, showing the first sign of expression. "Good, you have arrived. The doctor will see you all in the dining hall shortly. I have been instructed to inform you and the snake lady that there are bottles of blood in The fridge if you would like." He stepped aside to permit entrance)

That was meant for you, considering you were the only one at the door.
What edition were you playing?

My favorite stories were about my 18th level monk taking out a old dragons by giving it a heart attack. Ghost step into the heart. Painful, but effective.
Actually, cthulhoid mostly, I have 25 years of dnd under my belt, though. I have to blow the dust off my fiend folio to remember what the name of my next monster is though.

Maru would have been attacked by the forest hunters, Eth would have fought the fish men, and would have seen the brain and dream eaters in his dream.
Beastiary

Note: I have taken pictures from all over, and while you may recognize some, and know their original general mechanics, do not assume these mechanics are the same. I have changed some of their abilities to suite my story. I will make notes here as their abilities are experienced by the group.

Fish men
Displays no magical abilities. Amphibious, though, though prefers water. Worships a deity named Dagon. Stronger and tougher than average human, but not more than can be matched and exceeded easily.

Brain eaters
Humanoid with the head of a squid. Little is known other than it likes to eat the brain of intellectual beings. It will not eat the same brain twice. Asumed that it gains the knowledge from said brains.

Dream eaters
Some mix of intelligent insect. Extra dimensional/terrestrial. Telepathic. Cause of sleep. It is linked to the human DNA and wave length. The humans only have to be in close proximity to a sleeper to be linked, and hence sleep as well. Can exist in space. Killable if reached.

Sky devils
Insectoid. Size of a dog, though functions like dragonflies and praying mantises. The stinger on it's tail has to functions. To suck the life energy out of a victim, like a spider, and to implant eggs.

Forest Hunters
Animalistic, like a bloodhound. Used to sniff out anything alive. Size of a horse. Killable by normal means, though tough. Some pack hunting mentality.

Night gaunts
Messagers and transports. Extra dimensional. It is unclear who they are with as they will fight the other creatures as well as earth's. They enjoy music.

Shogoths
Maddening amorphous blobs from under the arctic. There are stories of such, but as it is supposed to be fiction, I don't know how much to believe.
The front door slowly opened, showing the old butler. His left brow rose, showing the first sign of expression. "Good, you have arrived. The doctor will see you all in the dining hall shortly. I have been instructed to inform you and the snake lady that there are bottles of blood in The fridge if you would like." He stepped aside to permit entrance. With the flick of a switch a message chimed out of a speaker on top of the roof. "The Doctor Will see you in the dining room," Echoed out over the property.

The butler looked, and smelled human, though had a slight smell like a high school chemistry lab. Simon was not in the dining room yet, though there was a prepared meal under a metal lid at each of the 20 seats. Steaks, sloppy Joe's, burgers, hot dogs, chicken, salads, ham, shark steak, shrimp, and a myriad of sides.

As the Lamia entered, the butler said softly. "I am to inform you that there is blood in the metal box that is cold in the room to the right. I am also to reassure you that I will be gathering your friends while you are meeting with the doctor." That is all he says, as if he didn't know what else to say.
*Sigh* y'all are making me feel old with your MTG talk. Started playing back in 98, haven't played since 04. Getting replies up soon.
It's ok, this is my first time to try to run a game in a while, and apparently a few of the traditions have changed.
@2b3heartI ment for your response to be in PM. It helps to finish the intro here before the IC.
