— Kondo School for Girls —

Her room was actually two rooms side by side. The next one along the hallways was technically vacant but the school had taken out the wall between the closets. It was one of her conditions for having to pretend to be one of the students. The other room had been entirely gutted to make room for a kitchen and training room.

She changed into her running clothes, a t-shirt and pants, before heading out again. There was a park nearby she would head to. The ground was more forgiving and it was less monotonous than following the sidewalk. Maybe she'd grrab food on the way back.

"Well, I did have something in mind but..."

He shrugged and made a show of glancing over his shoulder at the girl. She seemed to be a bit of a showoff, judging by first impressions. Not really the kind of person he usually interacted with. and the mask was... a little bit of an absurd affection. On almost anyone else it might have been intimidating but on someone of her stature it was rather comical.

"Let's go listen to her. I would hate to pick something outside of your comfort zone after we just met and more people makes it easier to recover if something goes wrong."

He glanced upwards as Misaki made her exclamation. With a stony look of concentration on his face her made an almost casual gesture towards the sky. An arc of rippling azure fire streaked skyward and then the wizard appeared to simply stand there, sagging weakly as if that single conjuring took everything her had.

With the illusion set Quick Ben walked towards the wounded man, invisible. His favourite game, appearing inept and telentless. Hardly a threat if such a show of force was an undue effort. It is easy for others, man and beast alike, to think less of those they consider below them.

Under the cover of his illusions he crouched down. Not good, as bad as anything he had seen an the battlefield. With another gesture and a lot more concentration and effort than that small unleashing of Tellas he focused his Denul into the wound, laboriously knitting together torn flesh. The mental pain would remain, the shock and trauma of such an injury.

He shrugged and gestured to the woodchips and fragments of tree and smoking crater as Tiral asked his questions. There was little enough left of the tree and nothing at all of the sigil.

"I could draw you a copy of the sigil. It's a lucky thing that I was here instead of another knight."

With the arrival of the fairies he froze. In his homeland they were known to be mischievous troublemakers that could be slow to forgive a grudge or a debt. At first glance though these seemed to be more benevolent.

"If this dark lady did this, then yes. We would appreciate any aid you could give."

He drew more than a few stares as they crossed the city. If only he had access to Mockra he could make use of it to make himself harder to notice without resorting to a full illusion. Instead he walked brazenly behind Hibiki. One thing that he noted was that nobody on the streets was armed. Even in Unta, the capital of the empire it wasn't unusual to see a sword hanging from a belt or a pair of long knives.

"Thank the twins that Kalam isn't here. I'm sure he would have stuck out a lot more."

The assassin was a total contrast to Ben. He would have been heavilly built and armed to the teeth with a variety of knives and daggers.

Quick Ben stopped besinde the girl and looked at the building she had apparently been looking for which appeared to not have been what she was expecting. He could sympathize with her experience. Before he could offer words of advice or encouragement her heard a noise, a voice calling for help.

His hands moved as if manipulating invisible strings while he opened a haldful of warrens in preperation to use their powers. The girl had already run off and he followed, conjuring a spehere of light into the air that hung in the sky like a flare.

— NYC Streets —

THings on the streets went from bad to worse. Where it had seemd that people were panicking over mundane criminals now it appeared that there were dragons attacking people in the streets. Unfortunately, lacking any weapons the only thing for Ennis to do was try to distract one of the beasts.

So she took off her shoe, made a running start and threw it, hitting it in the eye.

— NYC Subway —

Ennis woke with a gasp as if startled out of a dream or nightmare. The gentle swaying of a traincar was familiar but this particular one wasn't. It wasn't even a proper train like those of the thirties but just a subway train, closer in function to the streetcars she had seen in San Francisco. Regardless of how confused she was by where she had woken up, Ennis did recognize the names of the stops as being from New York.

As it slowed to its next stop, just a handful of blocks away from Rikers island. The stations was surprisingly empty and she emerged onto the street into a scene of chaos with people running in different directions.
Going to shelf Flagg for a while. Here's someone new.

Name: Ennis
Gender: Female
Appearance:

Personality:
When she was originally created she was entirely without emotion, designed to be an obedient servant. After taking care of a rival alchemist that threatened her master she absorbed his memories, learning the concepts that were the core of humanity to built her own personality off of over time. Ennis is observant and calculating, content to simply be dragged along with a situation rather than initiate it herself but will not hesitate to help someone in need.
Brief History:
Ennis was created and a homunculus in the service of the alchemist Szilard Quates during the prohibition era in the United States. He gave her immortality, the same as his own and the ability to kill her fellow immortals. She begins to feel guilt over her involvement in the deaths of others. Eventually she betrays him in defense of her friends that had gotten on the wrong side of him.

She slowly falls in love with the man who saves her from Szilard. Years later aboard a cruise ship in the year 2002 they become involved in a hijacking of the ship and it's sister ship where a mercenary group attempt to capture another immortal that was on board. Partly due to their help the situation is concluded and they spend the rest of their vacation in Japan.
Universe of Origin: Baccano!
Equipment: None
Abilities: Ennis possess absolute immortality, enabling her to recover from any illness or injury and prevents her from aging. With this she is also able to kill other immortals of the same type by placing her hand on their head and willing herself to devour them. This also gives her their knowledge and memories. When an immortal is injured in the same location multiple times they become faster at recovering from the damage.

Immortals are bound by a set of rules. They are entirely unable to use false names in the presence of other immortals and are unable to continuously use a fake identity around mortals. They also must always use their true name in writing.

Aside from her immortality Ennis is an agile and capable fighter, easily a match for any human and knowledgeable thanks to decades of her own experience and the vast amount of knowledge given to her by her former master.

He sat alone at a table nursing a half empty drink. To be honest he'd onyl bought half of a drink. With his metabolism any amount of alcohol took a long time to get out of his system. But he didn't want to seem disinterested for wasteful when he left a mostly full glass at the table.

It would be pointless to achieve great deeds with only his own word to vouch for them. So he needed someone new to not overshadow his own accomplishments but looked trustworthy and reliable. Liam took a small, measured sip and stood up, approaching someone that had sat alone. He leaned over and planted both hands on that table.

"Hey, you look like somebody I can trust to watch my back. I'm Liam, no last name."

Quick Ben finished his portion and rolled his shoulders. For a moment he looked up at the buildings, judging the best to gain a vantage point from. After a frowned expression he seemed to come to a decision. "I guess you can eat while we travel. Lead the way."

He had already used the imperial warren too much as things stood. Much more and he might risk attracting unwarranted attention. Well, it wasn't as if he hadn't done a great deal of walking with the Bridgeburners.
