Today's the first time in a long time that I've felt empty. Not even sad or tired, just empty. This quarantine is getting to me more than I thought.

@Jessica Bunny: You live in America! College is optional (and expensive) and around you is opportunity. I believe you can make it!

Dangerous is the idea. My thought was, in fact, exactly that: she's a senior student (19), who got lucky and managed to acquire a Griffin egg around five years ago (having been in Pythomancy classes a few years by that point), and raised the chick with the help of her instructors at the Academy. So, it's quite young, but still large enough to stare people down and discourage violence, and generally be a useful companion. And the intelligence is exactly where I was thinking, as well. :) I'm glad we're on the same page.(She was always going to be a senior student; I don't think that was clear. And her family is quite wealthy, considering their heritage...)

Cool. Is she a pure Pythomancer or does she study other branches?

"Do you have a name?" Katherin asked teasingly. "Your power could be helpful. Kyo doesn't speak so it is sort of hard for the communicating."

Rina flushed red. Of all the things - she'd forgotten to give her name! :A-ah! Right, of course!" she squeaked. "I'm Rina Ruth, sixteen. Sorry for forgetting to give my name . . ."

"The music room has become a popular place." Katherin commented. "Why doesn't everyone sit down? We haven't really had a chance to introduce ourself or get to know each other. It would be helpful for me if everyone would tell me their name and ability. That way I can learn to identify your voices."

Rina nodded. It didn't look like she had to hide her ability here. In fact, it seemed better if people knew about it. "Um . . . I'm kind of a mind reader, but I need skin contact. Actually, it's more like I 'connect' minds. If I hold someone and that someone holds another person, then we can all read each others minds."

My character probably is going to study both Pyhtomancy and Insorcerery, a question about Will-o-wisp, are they intelligent beings, simple magic creatures, or just magical phenomenon/ magical constructs created by magic-users.

Magical constructs.

Yeah, Misa and I have yet to discuss, so my sheet will have to wait for that (it probably won't be too long). Now, Hanged, my character went into Pythomancy specifically to find a magical creature she could bond with, for protection, something intelligent enough and intimidating enough to make people think twice about fucking with her (basically, she's paranoid). Would she be able to have raised a Griffin in her time at the Academy? And, are Griffins intelligent enough to perform complex tasks?

Hm . . . Griffins are fairly hard to tame, not to mention dangerous. So if she were to have one, it would be fairly young, but that also raises the question on how she got it at that state. And if she's just starting out, it's less likely, as she should have almost no knowledge on how to raise one. Your best bet would make her a senior student with a young Griffin (those are still bigger than horses, mind you), but you can also have her be new and wanting to learn.

As for how intelligent Griffins are; they are fairly intelligent, enough to deliver messages and pick-up ingredients without guidance, but aren't intelligent enough to work simple machines
We are still accepting characters.

Though I might be around at almost all times of the day, I find it relevant to mention that I'm rather... slow to post by Casual RP standards. But, I'm also rather well versed at replying to multiple instances at the same time.
Also, TheHangedMan, I really blame you for the fact that I spent almost all of Thursday reading through the entirety of Kangoku Gakuen/Prison School. I don't even know why, I'm not a fan of ecchi at all.
First off, I apologize if I might ask too many questions. I'm the type of roleplayer that gets obsessed with "how things work".
If it starts to bother you, please do tell me and I'll put all of my nitpicking and question-making to an abrupt stop.
So, that out of the way and without further adieu, a series of questions on the process of casting/performing magic spells: Much has been said about what kind of magic there is, and things have been implicitly implied as to the degree of power that Magestravi and Sepcarim may demonstrate— on the other hand, not much has been mentioned about magic is translated from the "want to cast a spell" to "a spell has been cast".

Kangoku is hilarious. The ecchi is secondary to it's comedy xD Anyway, I don't mind all the questions, so don't worry about it.

On casting spells, in general, I was saving that for the RP, but I realized people will probably be making older students, so here's the casting style and systems:

On Motions:
Motions are commonly used to physically direct where certain energies are gathered, and where a spell will form or be executed. For quickly made or complex spells, motions and energy become similar to a potter and his clay; he needs to direct things specifically because his mind his already busy with other things such as preparing the blueprint for the next step of the spell.

On Magic Circles:
Magic Circles are not really important for spell casting, but they do have their uses. Magic Circles are primarily used for barriers or wards. Magic Circles work kind of like a laptop without a battery; it has to be constantly plugged to an outlet (the caster, in this case) for it to be able to preform. Also, Magic Circles aren't just circles in the RP - they are customizable according to the logic of the user.

On Enchantments:
Enchantments work by both runes and by modifying the way an object works. Runed items are generally multi-purpose, with weak-to-moderate effects, while enchanted items have a finite lifespan and regularly need to be enchanted, but preform better than items with runes.
