Dante was silent for a moment before answering, "You know Isabella? Well she's not my sister. She's a member of the Tirean vampire clan posing as my sister in order to keep me under her control. Lately I've been trying to figure out why she is here with the help of Jasmine. So far all I have is this" Dante handed David the picture from the notebook.

"Don't show me that," said David immediately. "I'm not good with stuff like that, and I have a tendency to misinterpret things like this. Anyway, Isabella? I hope neither of you are offended by this, but your acting sucks. No matter how buddy-buddy you are, you can't mask killing intent completely. In any case, how and why, exactly is she keeping you under control?"

If she was really here for something like that, then the first order of business was to give Dante some room to investigate, which meant dealing with Isabella's control over him.

Stopping at the edge of the forest Dante let out another sigh as he said, "I wanted to keep as many people out of this as possible but it seems that's out of my control right now. Alright I'll tell you what's up but I have to ask you if you're sure you want to know what I'm about to tell you. It could put you and a lot of people in danger"

David remained silent for a few seconds before guffawing loudly. "Aha! Oh, oh boy!" he said, calming himself down. "Look man, if it's a danger to other people, all the more reason for me to want to know - as for myself, who gives a heck anyway? I'm going to do what I'm going to do, and this wouldn't be the first time."

He gave a grin and a thumbs up to the vampire, before turning serious again. "So, what's the problem?"

David kept a straight face and followed Dante as subtly as he could, while checking his back to see if Aiden was following.

David grinned at the news. It was a very predatory grin. Said grin was aimed at Jasmine and Dante. The grin said: "Don't think you're going to get away any time soon."

Aiden stood up and walked to Jasmine, Dante, and David. "So are we planning a surprise birthday or something?" Aiden asked with a laugh. He felt like he was missing something.

David looked up cheerfully. "Aw heck no! It's just a little something-something between us three, if you catch my meaning." The moment his face turned away from Aiden, he dropped the cheerful looked and shot a glare at Jasmine and Dante, mouthing, 'What's he got to do with this?'

David walked up to Dante, a smile on his face. "So, Dante, I have a few questions . . ." he said, pulling up a chair, "and it's pretty good that Jasmine's here too. I have questions for you as well."

Suddenly, David's smile dropped, and his voice dropped an octave lower. "Out with it. What's going on here? You really think I wouldn't catch on to what's happening? You did a bad job of covering your tracks, you know."
