Today's the first time in a long time that I've felt empty. Not even sad or tired, just empty. This quarantine is getting to me more than I thought.

@Jessica Bunny: You live in America! College is optional (and expensive) and around you is opportunity. I believe you can make it!

"Haha, well, since you and your brother get along nicely, maybe you just don't like water, eh?" said David. As the counselors revealed what they were supposed to do, David choked in dismay. "Erk. Dang, I'm no good at that. Can't tell one paw from another, let alone track them. How 'bout you Ivy, you any good?"
"Obviously Kyle would be good at it," agreed David, "still, I have to wonder, do you not like water have something to do with your abilities, or do you just not like water because you don't like it?"

It was both normal and strange for people's personalities to fit their abilities - it was something he had seen dozens of times - but David sometimes wondered whether their powers actually affected them, or if it was something more normal. He questioned this intensely especially whenever he encountered a persons abilities who were particularly 'dark', like a young girl he once met who had the ability to forcibly make other living creatures (including plants) feel fear. It was a pretty terrible ability that couldn't be avoided or blocked and left it's victims shaken mad wrecks for weeks or months. Sometimes even years. Even people or things that had no fear were subject to it, as David found out firsthand.

Fera, he thought, Fera was her name. As bad as her ability seemed though, the one that always looked most afraid was Fera herself.
"Sure," said David, trailing behind Ivy. Standing directly behind her, he was a bit amused at the difference in size. She barely reached up to his chest and he was at least twice as wide. "So, what are we supposed to do at the special skills session? Something with our powers?"
Meruin spotted Mutt and saw his intent. From the match she had seen earlier, Mutt could move at insane speeds, and she figured she had less than a second to react. Rather than test out her barriers against his strength (she really didn't like the odds) she simply dissolved the barriers and used winds spell to push her a bit to the side, at the same time chanting for another spell.

As soon as Mutt pounced, he would sail straight through the air and go passed the spot Meruin had just been at.
You people suck! xD

How is Meruin ever gonna form a plan at this rate T_T
Meruin cursed and created a barrier to surround her first one. This could only be destroyed by force only, so trying to blast her with fire (which carried little weight and thus little force) was almost useless. As the fog came up, Meruin closed her eyes for a few seconds. When they were opened again, they glowed bright green as she used her Clairvoyance to view the battlefield past the fog.

(I think we should wait for the other two before posting again :D)
Meruin was broken from her thoughts as she saw the fire coming towards her. With a wave of her hand, pieces of the paper shield turned towards Tyler like daggers and launched themselves as fast as bullets. Some exploded right as they got into the fire, dispersing it, while others headed straight towards Tyler.

At the same moment, Meruin inhaled deeply and began recovering her strength, while using her floating paper barrier to distance herself from the others, and give her time to formulate a plan.
"Have to agree with you there, still I doubt that he'll ever become like you," said David. "I mean, can you imagine Kyle bouncing up and down and running around like that all the time like you, Ivy? B-r-r-r, the thought gives me chills."
Meruin remained calm. There was a reason why she, the one with the least fighting strength, had said 'feel free to begin at any time' - since the moment she had pulled out her book, the battle had already began for her.

A reactive shield made of papers with glowing runes boxed Meruin from all sides and flew beyond the dust cloud the top peeled off and gave Meruin room to see. She was trying intensely to form a plan in her head, but this was her first ever fight, and she was finding it a bit difficult to maintain composure.
"Haha, actually I've got the a feeling that Kyle could be good friends with anyone if he wanted to," said David. More than that, though he didn't say it out loud, David felt that Kyle was purposely holding himself back from making to many friends for Ivy's sake.
