Today's the first time in a long time that I've felt empty. Not even sad or tired, just empty. This quarantine is getting to me more than I thought.

Meruin nodded. "I daresay you shouldn't get comfortable with that state though. Earlier I said that you need to think in extremes. I'll explain what it means later, but that advice holds true for a lot of people. I've already thought of several ways to make your life very uncomfortable using physical strength alone."

The little magician was about to pick up a cookie when she noticed it was a slightly different color from the one she ate earlier. She avoided that and simply ate a scone instead. "As for your affinity with other elements, are you still able to use other kinds of magic? Earlier you said that you 'had' the ability. Did it go away then?"
"Maybe later," said Meruin. "If you tried any magic in my room now, it would backfire on you. From your description, it looks like you literally take on the properties of water, and whenever feel pain whenever the body is depleted. Lightning burns out your body, but I wager that a strong enough fire will be more painful than lightning."
Meruin looked up, raising a brow. "Oh don't stop eating on my account, the rest of the cookies are fine, really," she said, taking a bite out of another. It seemed this one was fine, time to try another one. "On how you feel, can you experience pain in that form? And what causes it?"

The little magician took a sip of her tea, before glancing at the clock again.
"If that's the case, then perhaps it may be a familiarity with the spirit that causes the change," said Meruin. "Perhaps you resemble a long lost acquaintance, maybe you look like the first person to receive the ability? In any case that is of second importance. So, how does it feel whenever you use your ability? Be as detailed as you can, if you please. Oh, and be careful of the cookies, I baked some but a batch was mixed Potion Concentrate earlier."

She warned Liz about the cookies while nibbling on one at the same time. It was a novel experience, not knowing which cookies were spiked but still eating them anyway; sort of like a game.
Meruin nodded. "I see. It ties well with the legend, and that probably mean that rather than a blood related ability, it is more that your bloodline is the catalyst? So that would mean that this 'fairy' in the legend is probably some sort of divine spirit. All right," said Meruin, closing her eyes and thinking more on the topic. She opened one eye as a floating tray of snacks zoomed towards them. "Before I continue, here, snacks."
Dash375 said
"The first recorded instance?" Liz asked in thought "I don't know off the top of my had sorry. However, I do know the legend of how the first person got the ability if that will be any use." The girl paused for breath "Well, legend goes our family used to live away from society on an island, living at one with nature and all that rubbish. But, one day one of my past relatives was swimming in the ocean when he was knocked unconscious and drowned. However, while he was drowning he said he dreamt about meeting a fairy who told him she would use her magic to save him and when he arrived back on the island he had the water body and from then on descendants of that man could also turn into water." Liz finally finished her story "But yeah, thats all I know about it really."

"Hmm . . . Legends and magic usually go together, and that story is in all probability mostly accurate. Still, if the your ability has a legend about it, then it must be incredibly old. Well, I can make something from there. So, when was the first time you used your power? Describe the situation and how it felt, if you could," said Meruin, before glancing at the clock. "Oh, would you like a snack or a drink? I'm feeling a bit peckish now, so I thought I might offer you some."
Meruin didn't answer immediately. She was busy checking if she left anything out, most especially her Grimiore. If Liz so much as looked at that, she'd be vaporized on the spot, so she needed to make sure she'd sealed it off. When she was done, she turned to Liz.

"You should consider making one then. A workshop will give a considerable boost in power, especially when done right. In any case, I'll have you start from the beginning, if you don't mind. When was the first recording of this ability of yours within your family?" she asked, a book and ballpen floating beside her.
It took a few minutes to get to Meruin's room. Once at the door, the girl placed her hand at the center. A glowing circle appeared and was joined by dozens of others, stretching past the door itself and making a spiral like pattern. "Sorry for this, but I'm just sealing a part of my room. I trust you, but a mages workshop is were we keep our greatest secrets. To show another person that part of their workshop is more intimate than sexual intercourse," she explained, keeping her eye on the door.

After a moment, she grabbed the handle and opened it. "Okay, you can come in now."
The little magician was smothered for a bit before sighing in relief. Small as Liz was, Meruin was smaller. Meruin looked down. She'd forgotten that she was barely dressed. "No need. I can cook for myself. If you can't find your room in time, perhaps you can join me for dinner," she suggested. "Anyway, if I do forget to put on clothes, a reminder would be appreciated."

Meruin began walking towards her room steadily, while a barrier wrapped around her to prevent her from getting hit by debris from Sol, Kodokuna, and those other two's fights.
Meruin paused for awhile. She was little surprised. 'Friend' she'd said. Mutt had called her that, but he was overbearing and did that to everyone. She'd just met Liz but . . . well, there was no problem. She'd take her words for what it meant.

She nodded. "Okay, friend. Come one," said Meruin as she got up, closing her books. "I want to get to my room early."
