Specialization: Mentalist. Intelligent and great at "reading" people, telling when someone is lying, and lying himself.
Personality: In a nutshell, Seth is a gentleman. Intelligent, cool under pressure and rarely breaking from his calm and respectful demeanor, his outward appearance can cause some people to think of him as a stiff, but he's really quite easy to get along with and open about whatever parts of his life he cares to share. He is also a good listener, at least he appears to be. Those who know him well can't tell whether he actually listens or he just knows what you're feeling at any point in time, but you can generally count on him to try to cheer a friend up if they seem to need it.
Despite his affiliation with the gang, he tends to refrain from violence himself, utilizing it only in cases of self defense, or the defense of a friend or the casino, though there are exceptions to this. Sometimes you might hear of an abusive husband or parent conveniently disappearing or committing suicide without much explanation. Sometimes he will even help Devon out on one of his animal-abuse crusades.
History: Seth was born into a middle class family and lived a generally uneventful life. He was always a quick learner who picked up on certain skills quickly, making him a very versatile person all around, though his forte comes from his extensive knowledge in Psychology. Even before he took the course in high school, he displayed extensive knowledge as to how and why people think the way they do, and has been calling bluffs on people since ninth grade, though he was also the brutally honest type back then. He always held himself to a high standard when it came to his appearances and adopted his signature classy look early in his high school career. Moreover, he developed a sort of code of honor and respect that he has always held himself to, earning him a fair deal of respect from those he came to know and make friends with.
His life changed when he first came to the Dusty Roads with some friends, and he overheard a transaction of words between two seemingly normal businessmen. Unfortunately for Seth, the two did a great job at hiding their gang affiliation, and during their conversation, Seth pointed out a deal-breaking lie one of the men said. Of course, no good deed goes unpunished, and one day, while walking with a friend, a car sped around a nearby corner and began to spray the two with bullets. Seth got out okay, but his friend had been shot twice in the chest. He died two days later in a hospital.
Seth's usual clear and rational thought process was put on hold as he spiraled into a self-destructive state, blaming his friend's death on himself. He began to turn to alcohol to numb his emotions and maybe make him forget his troubles, but no matter how many times he woke up in a pool of vomit with a hangover from hell, his troubles always came back worse than the day before. He finally attempted to commit suicide by drinking several bottles of vodka in one sitting. Had he not thrown up several times before he passed out, he would have succeeded. He woke up with the next morning in the hospital with several visitors, including a man whom he had never met before. As it turned out, his talent did not go unnoticed by the owner of the casino, and they had approached him with an offer to join the gang with the promise of helping to track down the people who killed his friend.
He took the offer immediately, and that day acted as a sort of turning point in his life. He has long since found and killed the men who were in the car that day, with the help of some of the connections he had made. He still is a slight bit of an alcoholic, but he has mostly straightened up since the night he nearly killed himself. He has also learned the importance of lying and has conditioned himself to be a really good liar on top of his ability to read someone. In addition, he has taken up an interest and likeliness to firearms, and can frequently be found disassembling his own CZ-75 just for fun, or to learn another detail about how it works. He still holds on to his code of honor, though he has been known to make some exceptions.
Pic/Description:Seth is a fairly skinny guy, standing at 5'10" and weighing in at about 150lbs, but he does have moderately well toned muscles. He has brown hair, which he keeps parted in a classy manner, green eyes, and maintains a clean-shaven look. He is generally seen wearing slim dark jeans and a dress shirt under a vest, sometimes with a coat or tie, sometimes not.
