I'm still here.
I've just graduated high school, and I'm already feeling the pressures of being an adult. You can't get a good job without going to college, and you can't go to college without having money, which you need a job (and one that pays more than minimum wage (impossible when you don't have a degree or prior job experience)) to afford without student loans, and when you do go the student loan path, you end up graduating with a degree that ends up costing more than it's worth.

Fuck that, I'd rather just stay a kid forever.

But more on topic, good luck with your job, man.
Lunch with friends. I'm the one on the left. Sorry about the shitty quality.

Grouping ain't great, get it in the bull or you'll have a hard time hitting targets even as close as 200 yards with a gun rated for 500 on iron-sights.-At 100 yards, I can write my name in .22LR, ammunition permitting.

I know. I'll have to get a lead sled so that I can tell if it's my aim or if the rifle just isn't that accurate.

I find that I generally do better with my Mosin as far as groupings go, and I have a tendency to unintentionally rapid-fire with semi-automatic guns. I just shoot as soon as it looks like the sights line up. Probably not the best way to go about doing things, but I do have much better groupings with my Mosin, so I think it's just the way I approach bolt action vs. semi-auto.
Finally got to go shooting and zero my scope. I didn't get it quite exactly, but I'm not using it for sniping, so for 100 meters, I'd say this is okay.

I was aiming for the center target the entire time. The fact that my first mag went to the top right target was a lucky convenience, making it really easy to zero the scope. The center target is where my last mag went. A smidge high, but I'll call it good. All in all, I'm definitely happy with the results, and I am very glad I invested in that scope. It's also opened my eyes a bit to the fact that I really shouldn't let go of this rifle. It's worth holding on to, so I'm not going to do the trade.

I also ended up sanding a couple of parts to make things a bit smoother, namely the bolt carrier and trigger. It's amazing how much of a difference just a little bit of sanding can do.
You forgot about ground hornets. I went to a CAP encampment at Big Sandy and heard horror stories about cadets being put in the infirmary because of them. They're aggressive, and their sting will put you out for a couple of days.

Also, damn, dat CS doe. That's pretty intense, but I'll get to work.
As much as I'd love to continue teaching all of you, my place is not here. It never was to begin with. I'm truly sorry that I have to leave you behind, but this is my calling. It's been a honor teaching all of you, and I wish you all the best of luck in your future endeavors. -Exile

He set his pen down next to the small pile of discarded drafts and began re-reading the note. After several minutes he sighed and set the paper down. "This will work," he muttered, having finally written a parting note that he felt neatly summed up his thoughts. He put the note in his bag, along with the less-than-satisfactory drafts he had written before. He may have been acting overly paranoid, but he felt that if he tried to dispose of the papers someone would read them and know that someone was planning to leave. Certainly The System would want to crack down on those responsible, and Exile wasn't going to be the one to trip up and leave a paper trail that led straight to him.

It occurred to Exile that he didn't even know if the rumors were true. The very definition of a rumor meant that the validity of it was, at least, hit or miss. Maybe Exile wouldn't even need the notes. Maybe he would make an idiot of himself and show up to school the next day quietly laughing about how idiotic he was to believe such rumors. Then again, it wouldn't hurt to see if they were, in fact, true.

Exile took another look around, noticing that Cristi, Evelyn, Sean and Daniel had gone to sit with Mina. Knowing Mina technically worked for The System, he didn't suspect she was involved in the escape plan until he noticed that her drink was just as full as it was when he first saw her. It had been several minutes since then, and Exile didn't take Mina as the type of person to skip out on a drink, especially after having bought it herself. The way she held herself hinted that something was on her mind, so it was definitely possible she knew something about the rumors. Hell, as far as Exile knew, she could have been the one orchestrating the whole thing. The fact that Cristi was there made Exile think of the situation as being more likely, since he and Mina often thought alike; the same went for Daniel and Cristi. Exile couldn't speak for the rest of them, but he figured three out of five was enough to cement his theory.

Exile picked up his beer and took another swig before walking over to Mina's table. "Ladies, gentlemen. Mind if I join you?" he asked, gesturing towards an empty seat next to Daniel.
