Well, we've got one Alcoholic (Leon Blackthrone). The ghost of the daughter thing sounds really weird. I gotta admit it raises a tiny red flag somewhere in recesses of my mind. Things like that can get very played out and annoying, very fast. But having said that, I don't know exactly how you would approach it. Getting hammered and talking to her is one thing, having conversations with an apparition on a regular basis would probably get old and mildly cheesy in a hurry. But I'm all for different, strange, and otherwise fringe. That's what sets me apart as a writer. I don't do what's already been done.

Honestly the hope is for it to come off as more of a quirk than something cheesy. I was actually angling toward a more flicker at the edge of the character's vision kind of thing than a "I'm having a conversation with my dead daughter" thing. I think it would be interesting to use it as part of the character's moral compass. More of a reminder of past wrongs and the things you should have done but don't always do

Do you have a time frame in mind for the writing samples? like am i looking at a 24 hour turn around or something a little longer?
I'm interested and I think I'd be interested in taking on the Doctor and the Engineer roles possibly one more or even some other combination but I defiantly have some strange directions I'd like to take a medically based character in as well as an engineering based character. Something along the lines of forensic pathologist reassigned and re educated as a doctor. Someone who has gone from dealing with the dead to dealing with the living and was perfectly happy with dealing with the dead. I think I could bring something fun to the table with that as I have some experience working with a coroner's office.

My thought process with the engineer was something along the lines of a slightly crazy alcoholic maybe still in morning for an adopted daughter who he is convinced is still hanging around in the form of a ghost that he feels responsible for.

Just toying with some ideas, If you have somewhere you'd like character sketches posted I could come up with a few. Defiantly at the least one for the doctor and engineer, I've been bad about not testing my limits in RPs and I feel like this would be a great jumping off point for me as far as a swim in the deep end.
Solomon looked pointedly from the tea on the table in front of Cora and then back up at her before taking a drink from his own mug to make a point. Solomon calmly swatted Isabelle's legs which had been placed on the table. "Dear lord sweet girl, My mother was murdered and buried in a shallow grave and even I know that is bad manner's"

Returning to Cora's snide remark he smirked. "At least I see enemies all around me, Love. When you trust other's you never see the blade coming till it is buried to the hilt in your back" He gestured to Hawk, "your mentor does not trust me, which is a fantastic idea, however the only thing he actually does is keep the kingdom from running me to ground and stringing me up. "
"I keep myself out of trouble and you will find no record of my existence, whilst you my dear are clearly of noble birth and I know the type trust me. I on the other hand am a scoundrel and a low bred peasant, you will find no record of my birth, no one knows the story of my life and you won't find it simply because everyone who knew me has died. Not by my hand mind you I'm not quite that good but because living in the slum is hard and people tend to die quickly. I have no legal name, you won't find a Solomon Crow, The name doesn't exist because I gave it to myself. Love, you think you enjoy anonymity but you are living in a fantasy world because Hawk found you and while he certainly found me, that is about all he found. Don't be so quick to assume that just because I don't know who you are yet doesn't mean I won't find out. If Hawk decides you've become a liability well then, Love. I'll have to clean you and while I will do it with a heavy heart I will certainly do it."

Solomon continued to consume the tea and waited for Cora's counter attack. He was fairly sure he had hit on a nerve with the jab about being of noble birth but she was good at hiding her emotions. If that didn't get that sweetly beautiful porcelain exterior to crack he was fairly certain he had an ace that would get her to show some emotion, although it would be a shot bellow the belt and he was not sure he was willing to piss her off just to get a rise out of her. Clearly Hawk thought she was competent but Solomon was not sure she was ready to hold the authority he had given her. Hell she wouldn't even drink the tea he'd brought her as a sort of gesture of good will. Arguably he'd been exchanging verbal blows with her but still, it was a waste of good tea.
yeah it takes quite a while
Absolutely. I was walking to a panel and practically ran into Jim Butcher dressed as wolverine. It's pretty awesome. The vendor floor is a huge mess but the panel's are awesome and if you can brave the main floor there is some pretty cool stuff. Artist's alley is certainly worth braving the floor for.
Hey guys just an FYI im at comic con through sunday so my posts may be a bit sporadic
Spoiler. Solomon actually started cleaning early
clever
Solomon helped himself to the tea and winked at Cora. "You know that smell reminds me of a traders caravan that came through the lower corridor when I was much younger, the traders were transporting all manner of spices from other countries, pity I didn't grow up a little more affluent, maybe I'd have had the chance to see them." He shot Cora a look and arched an eyebrow at her general poise. He'd seen that bearing before, in the daughters of the Lords and Affluent who'd come seeking his mothers 'Services' after the incident that ended his mother's life he'd taken to keeping tabs on them and spying on their lives was a part of that in his hunt for this father. "So where did you skip off to last night, Love?" He returned to his seat next to Hawk after depositing a cup of Iiario's tea in front of her.
I totally understand and that's exactly what happened so no need for apologies I wield my sarcasm with the subtlety of a two by four upside the head so I'm cool I know you weren't being mean or anything. And the only reason I didn't do a better job with the post is because I was on my way out after that post but I didn't want to let the jabs go unanswered so In the future you can expect something a bit better written in regards to Cora :)
