*eyes the mess, takes the phone from lucius and hands it back to Wind* Thanks sweetie, I think I solved the Specter's assault problem. They will simply use mass from Dracul, Lazarus will just have to adjust the molecular density of Dracul to accommodate for the loss of mass during combat but it will only need to be enough to given them sufficient form to serve their purpose. That way we don't have to deal with the whole making a gateway from point A to point B. And the Revenants will be prepped before combat. Thank you Wind love ya.

Ian- Loom, The Academy- Midday

Ian’s shock at Reates’ transition was immediately manifest in Ian’s response. Adrenaline pounding through Ian’s veins he rolled onto his shoulders and kicked his legs launching himself from the ground to his feet. Fidrieon reacted to Ian’s fear by shifting the keys of the flute so they sat between Ian’s fingers giving the flute a grip of sorts which made Fidrieon easier to use as a weapon.

As he came to his feet his surprise response stalled as the rest of Reates statements got through to him. “My apologies, your magic startled me.” Ian wiped his lip and looked at his hand as it came away covered in blood from where Fidrieon had split his lower lip. He could taste the copper as he worked his mouth and tongue making sure that none of the teeth and been chipped by the fall. “I’m fine honestly but if you really feel the need to fix this I wouldn't mind. It’s been a long few days and one less injury would be greatly appreciated.” His legs and forearms were beginning to bruise from his earlier work out on the dummy and his knuckles had just been starting to scab over and heal from an earlier workout in the week. Punching the dummy had opened them up yet again.

Ian pinched the bridge of his nose and squeezed his eyes shut wrinkling his upper lip and turning up the edges of his nose. His eyes felt gritty from the lack of sleep which was just annoying at this point, in comparison, as the adrenaline had worn off and the energy he had felt earlier was slowly ebbing away from him. Ian’s arms and legs felt like lead and his lower back was starting to pain him. Realistically the only thing that kept Ian on his feet at this point was a will of iron and long years of learning to separate himself from pain. He’d spent the summer chasing a particularly nasty Angel through the Himalayas on behalf of the academy. The final fight had torn out his left shoulder and he’d barely staggered out of the mountains before frostbite had started to set in. His training was the only thing that allowed him to come out alive from the fight and then again when he was trying to make it out of the mountains fighting against freezing winds, lethal falls and more snow than Ian ever wanted to see again.

His digits and shoulder hand been restored via magic but whenever he was tired it always seemed like the shoulder started to act up even if the doctors had assured him that all of the damage was gone. Ian didn't believe them but then again the shoulder seemed to function just as well most of the time so he didn't ever bother to pursue the issue.

The whisper caused him to whip his head back up and his eyes to go wide, before he did something rather unusual. Ian pulled out a deck of cards and shuffled through the deck with a look of concern on his face. After he counted out all of the cards he frowned and put the deck back in his pocket. Seeing the butterfly he blinked. “Sir, there is a butterfly on your shoulder….” Ian sort of trailed off after that as though he were trying to figure out what exactly was going on as a look of mild confusion crept a cross his face. This prompted him to check the deck of cards a second time but getting the same result as before he frowned and replaced it in his pocket for the second time.

Ian….sleep calls, come play with me. Ian shook his head. “Apologies, I’m rather tired right now and I think it may finally be catching up to me. This was punctuated by a yawn and Ian finally slid Fidrieon back into its holster at his hip. Blood still crusted the head joint of the flute from where it had smashed his lip. Ian inhaled slowly trying to separate the pain and survive this conversation with a mage. Just his luck.

essence and soul are basically the same thing here.It's a raw material for demons and such, much like blood. It unique to everyone, though and it the soul. However we've never assumed that dead souls could be brought back and communicated with and while I don't mind the idea just keep in mind that souls are still mostly a mystery to everyone and they leave the essence after death first. (Aka they vanish from it at various speeds but pretty soon after death and later so does the entire essence too).

Okay so that part of Lazarus Necromancy has always been there, the communicating with the dead. You put your okay on that part, but If you want me to take it out, no problem. However I think some definition of the line between a soul and essence is important. Edit: I found the problem!!!!!! I don't know how I missed that my bad! The line in Dracul's entry about it storing souls is gone! that one is totally my fault I must have just got going with my writing and glazed over on my mechanics (I make it up to you with lots of writing :)). And obviously I'll have to edit exactly how soulfire works but the idea was to yoink a dead persons essence/soul after they had been killed in a more mundane fashion.

Lazarus doesn't manipulate it in the living, if one of his powers does, tell me because I didn't mean for that to be in there and I'll get rid of it immediately (If you're talking about Revenants, they souls he uses are dead but if you aren't okay with that I have another version of it that I think you'd appreciate that shouldn't bother you)

Okay so can I alter matter or not? There seems to be some inconsistency. I thought I'd conserved both Matter and Essence with the abilities(If the powers don't tell me and I can fix it/axe it)

edit: Found it! i found the problem I've edited soulfire so it no longer alters a soul it is simply a more virulent version of normal fire I also moved it to evocation (Think magical naplam)

SO. I did my research.Im guessing you have an Issue with Entropy Shield. I would like to keep it (or something like it) but I'm very open to adjusting this (I have some ideas about how to do this but I figured Id let you pitch yours first), after combing back through our conversations.

Now just as a few final notes to frame his abilities and perhaps this was a failing on my part but I added Esperacchius and a few lines in Dracul's entry to illustrate the fact that Lazarus is reliant on his tools to pull off his magic. (Mostly, on his own he has a few standard tricks as a decent mage but he doesn't have the essence to pull off truly spectacular magic.). So where I hoped I was going with the character (maybe this didn't come a cross correctly on my part or it did and you think it needs some tweaking, in either case I'm good to edit Lazarus) was to create a character who could throw down with everyone else but to give him the giant Achilles heel of needing to use Dracul's stored essence to do basically all of his more powerful magic. After all at his core I still want Lazarus to be a squishy Human. The idea being that Lazarus needs a battery to power the spell's he has come up with through experimentation. Take away dracul (or burn it out) and basically Lazarus is just a really smart human mage that you have to kill more than once. I was hoping to illustrate that with Precognition, the idea being that the ability is more of an accidental occurrence (a natural overdrive of his usual thought skimming shenanigans if you will) of using a bunch of essence in combat.

Okay so I think I covered all the information I wanted you to have or felt I should point out with my serial quoting. Pm, post, whatever you want/need to do. Since there are a few places that I goofed purely in the throes of my own writing I feel obligated to give you and everyone else a "thank you for putting up with the chaos my ideas sometimes spawn" Gift which is this: I'll be putting off my other writing for a good long while to focus on writing with you guys basically exclusively (except for school...that writing I actually have to do :P). I'll have Ian's next post done today because Lazarus needs a bigger review from you guys than I thought. I'd hoped i got him right within the confines of the lore and reviewing him wouldn't be a problem for you but obviously I didn't. So Ian's posts will come more regularly while you're discussing Lazarus' edits. And then you guys will have my undivided attention for a good long while and I'll go crazy writing for both of them :)

Edit: In a preemptive strike on some stuff that after I reviewed I went "Did I lose my mind when I wrote this?" I took out a few lines in some spots and fixed soulfire (I think) so for your convenience (assuming all his other stuff is okay like his history and personality) you can read through his abilities and equipment sections again and hopefully I caught some of the problems you that i think I fixed when I was rooting around in some of the earlier OOC posts to see what I goofed up. Obviously some stuff I left because I want to know where to go with it when you have conversed with your GM's but hopefully I made your life easier (If I made it worse I will take on a third character as an "I'm sorry"....Wind if you lie to me cause you want another character Ill be annoyed with you)

Okay so as soon as I can get an Okay on Lazarus I will move Mary and him to the opening ceremonies. Late of course but better late than never. so the events of Mary and Lazarus' conversation will be prior to what's going on at the academy. I also plan on doing a few scene cuts of Lazarus doing things in between. Rtron if you want to add anything let me know. And I will also be hold Ian's next post hostage till I get my okay cause I want to write it all in the same go.

Because Lazarus will have nothing to do with his stone. As far as I'm concerned the events of our PM have little to no effect on the character at this point since you are rebuilding the character and I decided I wanted to edit him purely on a whim because I decided I didn't like his personality and some of his history. Also with the edits I'm making Lazarus won't be inclined to accept anything like what we initially discussed, so other than any in story encounters. He won't effect the way I'm tweaking the character at this point.

Btw Yosh I'll do Ian's in a little bit. I need to clean up Lazarus CS and bring it up to date now that the whole grim reaper thing has sort of blown by. And I also need to move Mary and Lazarus to the Academy.
