The bandit laughed again, "Oh don't be so rude. I just want to play with...." He was cut off as Markus unsheathed his mighty sword and held it and the mans neck.
"I dare you to finish that sentence. I will gladly spill your intestines across the ground." Markus' voice was cold and dark, just like when he had killed the Banshee. The bandit slowly raised his hands in surrender.
"No need to be hasty now." The man chuckled nervously, "I'm just joking." After a few seconds, just as Markus was lowering his sword, the bandit slammed the knights weapon out of his hands flying a few feet away from them, "The bitch is mine!"
That was it, that was the moment Markus broke. He yelled in rage as he rammed his fist into the bandits stomach, making him tumble to the ground. Markus dropped down and sat on top of the man as he repeatedly threw punch after punch, blood slowly spread across the ground. The enraged knight ignored the screams for mercy as he continually beat the man to a bloody pulp.
Markus laughed, "Well we wouldn't want that now would we?" He teased, "And yeah, there's a prince, but they want to keep it quiet until they decide of wedding days and all that." Then out of the blue a voice spoke, "Well, well, well. What do we have here." Suddenly a tall burly man dressed in tattered clothing and wielding a sword and shield crept out from the woods.
Markus moved in front of Castitas, "A bandit? What are you doing so far away from camp at this time of day?"
"Well now, a nosy little rodent aren't you. I don't have any business with you, I want the girl." A nasty grin appeared on his face, his teeth rotten.
The knight's face contorted in slight anger, "What could you possibly want with her?"
The bandit laughed, "It gets a bit lonely in these woods, a man could use the company of a fine dame like her." He chuckled inching toward them.
"Back off, you grotesque scoundrel." Markus steeped closer to the bandit, rage could be seen slowly boiling in his eyes.
Markus nodded, "Yeah, I guess you're right. I just hope that ignorant prince doesn't do anything to hurt her while I'm gone or his ass is pig food." He shook the thoughts from his head, "But I can't do anything about it." He looked over at the priestess and chuckled slightly, "You in armor? That'll be a sight to see." He slightly nudged her playfully and continued leading her through the woods. "We are almost to the nearest rode, it's just be an hour or so walk to reach the caravan from there." Without really thinking he ever so slightly tightened his grip on her hand and inched closer to her as they walked.
Markus smiled as Castitas took a hold of his hand. He gently pulled her along through the forest, when suddenly the young priestess asked about the princess, "Yeah, she is quite the beauty. She is really nice, she believes that everyone deserves a chance to be happy no matter who they are or how they act. She's the most caring and loving person I know." He smiled widely as he thought about the memories he had growing up with her. Then his turned sad, "But now I won't be able to see her anymore. Now that my no good father probably has the king against me." He sighed and looked at the girl holding his hand, "You two would have gotten along really well, you act a lot like her."
Markus nodded his head, "Yeah, finding a caravan would be a good idea." He started to walk, but stopped turning to Castitas and reached out a hand to her, "Come on, we're not far from road." He smiled warmly at the young priestess, hoping that he wasn't going to jump over any boundary by him offering to escort her while holding her hand. He knew a lot about the travel routes of the caravans around the area, so it would be easy for him to find one.
As they reentered their world, Markus took a deep breath in and sighed in relief, "Finally back to a place that makes some sort of sense." He chuckled as he looked around their surroundings. It felt good to be here again, it seemed like ages since the knight was where he belonged. A smile broke across his face as he looked over at the priestess, "So any ideas on where you wanna go for the supplies?" He knew they couldn't go back to his kingdom, knowing his father he had probably convinced the king of some petty lie. He sighed a little to himself, but quickly throwing the thought away. Knowing it would not serve them good in there certain situation.
Maktane smiled running a hand through her hair.
Markus chuckled, "Yeah, I'm starting to get hungry as well." He smiled as he took her hand in his own and looked at the her, "And I agree with infiltrating the base. If this... Orb thing that was created by... Shadow was it? If it corrupts the holder, then they must be released when the Orb is removed...." He paused, his face contorting into a look of concern. "But who is going to take it? Neither of us would be able to hold it, it would corrupt us and we would turn against each other." He sighed slightly, "I guess we will have to figure that out when the need arises." The knight smiled a bit, "Come on, let's go get some supplies and food."
Maktane smiled, "As do I." He placed his forehead against hers and closed his eyes a look of peace washing over him.
Markus weakly smiled, "I'm fine, don't worry about me. I'm not the important one here." He took her hand and removed it from his forehead, "So," He paused trying to restrain himself from thinking about the priestess who stood so close to him, "You know more about what's going on then I do, what's the plan?" The knight watched there surrounds as a way to advert his eyes from her gaze. He noticed all sorts of strange creatures roaming the woods, some that looked harmless and others that seemed a bit dangerous, but didn't seem to bother them. Some of the creatures he saw, he heard about in children stories, like the fairies and a few others.
