– Leroy

Leroy couldn’t help up laugh as he and Seven made their way to the lounge. “You really are like a cat aren’t you?” Then looking thoughtfully up in the sky he commented, “Don’t think I’ve seen a crow around here yet though.” Without any real idea of what was going on or what he wanted to do until the meeting commenced, he would have probably continued to accompany Seven in the lounge if it weren’t for the sudden bump into someone. “Heh, where’s the fire?” He asked.

Recognizing the one that had bumped into him, he raised a brow as he seemed to ponder something, though his smile still did not falter. Leroy generally never met again with people that learned about the true nature behind his abilities. Not only did he actively tend to avoid them, the victimsones that found out about it were generally not all too inclined to meet him again either. ‘Come to think of it, I never really considered how ‘closed off’ the entire academy is. I’d have to select people with more care…’ He thought. Aloud he just replied back to Little Feather, “Yeah, it’s good. Didn’t fall down or anything.”

Her request was… Incredibly surprising. He let out a low whistle. “Have to say, you’re the first to come willingly. And yes, I have some ink on me.” Well, there were the people that became addicted to the ‘joy’ he could give them, but he didn’t count people that were already broken. It was definitely a first for Leroy to have someone come up to him as a willing ‘participant’ when they hadn’t even had a real taste of what he could do. His smile broadened. For once, he actually seemed to be happy from the very bottom of his heart. “It would be my pleasure Little Feather.”

‘Too much people here for my liking though.’ He looked around, but as expected there was a large crowd of fellow students gathered up for the meeting. Leroy eyed a small corner near the lounge building with some decorative foliage. Though they were still near people, there was a good enough space away from the real crowd and they could probably shield themselves from view if they crouched a little. “Let’s go over there then.” He told her, gesturing towards the area he had found. Then thinking about how suspicious their actions probably were he laughed and reassured her, “Don’t worry, I don’t do anything that’d make you uncomfortable. ‘Cept maybe the face painting.”

Keeping an eye on her reaction, he held his hand out to her. “Take my hand if you’re sure you want my help. No ink on it, so no need for worry.” He shrugged. “Since it seems like you’ve been kind enough to keep quiet about my abilities, I’ll help you out. As a special service, you can even choose the emotion you want me to place.” Smiling warmly, though there was something off about the way he was looking at her, he added, “And no, I can’t refrain from using my ability. There’s a ‘default’ emotion that gets imprinted if I don’t focus and… I’m sure you won’t like that one.” He chuckled slightly, but didn’t elaborate any further as he kept his hand out to her.
– Kathy

Feeling quite comfortable in her seat, Kathy was almost certain that if something didn’t start soon she would start nodding off. Luckily for her, someone was willing to engage her and keep her occupied until the meeting began. “Good to see you too Darwin.” Kathy greeted, smiling as she tilted her head up to face him.

Then watching him pull a chair up to where she was, she let out a small laugh. “Crashmania?” She repeated with an amused smile. ‘A nickname on top of a nickname.’ She thought, then realized, ‘I guess I’m the same too though. Calling him Bandicoot and all.’ She waved the question off and answered, “I’m not staying away from anyone. I just thought it’d be good to lounge here until the meeting.”

She had been leaning back into the comfort of the lounge chair even as Darwin moved a chair of his own right next to her, but now she straightened herself up and began to look around them. “… Is he here?” She asked, having noticed the slight implications behind the unicorn’s words. Crash’s messy red hair should’ve easy for her to detect, but while sitting down a good portion of her view was concealed by others standing in the area.
– Leroy

Leroy laughed, “Yeah, who would’ve guessed?” He thought back to their meeting at the academy. ‘Interesting. I accidentally poisoned my roommate on the first day of meeting him.’ He didn’t feel too guilty about it. First of all, the result had been alright and Seven was still alive despite it. And secondly, he personally thought the bakeneko himself should’ve known about the sort of things he could eat and couldn’t eat. If he didn’t, then he should’ve started with small bites of potentially harmful products. No harm, no foul. That’s how he saw it. And it wasn’t as though he had forced Seven to ingest chocolate either. He had only asked the bakeneko if he could, then introduced him to chocolate products in the cafeteria because he had asked Leroy to point them out.

After listening to Seven talk about the rabbit, he shrugged and replied, “Just finish it before it rots then. Do what you want in your room, but I don’t want any foul odours flying around.” Then he followed the bakeneko out and started to head for the mandatory meeting. On the way there, he patted his pockets for the familiar shapes of the ink bottles he carried around. He had two in his right pocket, and one in his left. He didn’t know what this meeting would be about, so he wanted to make sure that he had his ink bottles with him ‘just in case’.
– Kathy
Apparently her roommate had not been to the house at all. Kathy saw zero signs of any other belongings aside from her own and the second bedroom remained unlocked and empty. ‘Maybe I haven’t been assigned a roommate yet?’ She thought. It would certainly explain why she had never seen anyone back in the dormitories of Athalia, though in that case she was rather embarrassed about not noticing it sooner than she had. It would have been nice if she could’ve met a nice a roommate to become friends with, but being along had its own perks after all. ‘Though… I guess it’s a little lonely.’

She ended up changing her clothes for the 3rd time that day. In her defense, she didn’t quite feel like walking around in a bikini top at night when the sun was no longer out and the 2nd time she had changed had been because of the training. She put on a black tank top and jean shorts and moved in front of the mirror as she removed the hair elastic to loosen up her ponytail. “Oh, it’s back!” She could see the familiar shade of dark, brown-ish red hair in her reflection. Kathy breathed a small sigh of relief. As interesting as it had been to have different coloured hair for once, in the end she truly liked her own natural hair colour. ‘And… So does Crash.’ She thought, then noticing the slight blush that had appeared in her reflected image, she quickly waved the thought away and began to comb her hair out.

Without any further plans for the day, she began to contemplate where she wanted to go next. She had already finished organizing all her belongings and didn’t seem like she could socialize with her roommate, so she thought about going to the resort and seeing if anyone had as much free time as she did (which was incredibly likely seeing as they were all on an island vacation). She had just stepped outside when an amplified voice announced:
"CALLING ALL OF ATHALIA. PLEASE REPORT TO THE LOUNGE AREA FOR A MANDATORY MEETING!"

Kathy frowned. ‘Now?’ Instinctively, she looked around and strained her ears for any sign of trouble. But as far as she could tell it was just a peaceful night. ‘Then again, the principal didn’t sound all too urgent about the meeting. There’s no real reason to assume every announcement is connected to an emergency I suppose.’ And now that she thought about it, Maria Cross hadn’t even bothered to make an announcement during the demon attack. It had been Crash that went around telling everyone to meet up in the auditorium. ‘Where was she then anyway?’ She wondered, frowning again. Whatever it was for, she was not going to skip out on a mandatory meeting.

Reaching the lounge area Kathy made herself comfortable in one of the single lounge sofas. Seeing the relaxed expressions of all the other students that had gathered there, she was fairly convinced that the announcement wasn’t for something requiring immediate and urgent attention. Normally she would have immediately started searching for Crash and Carmen among the crowd, but she felt a little embarrassed about seeing them at the moment. So instead, she relaxed in her comfortable seat and looked around for any other faces that she may have recognized.
– Leroy

Leroy had, once again, covered everything in his bedroom with newspaper and moved most of his personal belongings over to the living room. He had considered just leaving the bedroom be since it was just a temporary place to stay, but in the end he had decided to go with it. As troublesome as it was, it also gave him a sense of familiarity.

Armed with an impressive number of nightlights carried around in a plastic bag, he began to stick one into every outlet he found throughout the house. Save for inside of his roommate’s private bedroom of course. He didn’t care about being made fun of for his fear of the dark at his age. Pride wasn’t going to help him keep calm without proper vision and he already knew that it would be better to be teased about a phobia than the actual reaction he had when he was caught trapped in darkness. For now, all the lights had been turned on in the house seeing as it was nighttime, but just in case his roommate didn’t want to be in a place that was lit 24/7 he had installed nightlights throughout the house.

Leroy had just finished putting one of the lights in the bathroom when he heard the door opening. He smiled, knowing it was probably his roommate. ‘Let’s see who it is then.’ Done with putting nightlights everywhere, he left the plastic bag on the bathroom counter and stepped out to greet his roommate. To his pleasant surprise, he realized he had already met his roommate before. “Hey! Seven, it’s been a while.” He gave the bakeneko a warm and friendly greeting. “By the way, there was an announcement for a mandatory meeting. Aren’t you going?”
– Ara (B)

“Managed to meet most of the people you did.” Ara told A. She had bought a tropical dress before making her way back to her assigned quarters. Having changed into it, she sat and lounged on the bed while she faced a standing mirror to have a talk with A.

Needless to say, A was actually quite surprised by this. Usually they preferred just to ignore each other as much as possible except for the occasional heckling. “Well good for you. Did any of them believe you when you told them who you were? Or did you not bother revealing your identity?” Ara smirked at his words. “I didn’t really greet too many people, and the group I joined hadn’t met you yet. But one person believed me and another didn’t catch on all too well. Crash thought that you’d sent me, a different girl, to go and tease him in your place.” From beyond the mirror, A was laughing. “So you continued with the teasing? Nice.” Then frowning she recounted, “Carmen decided to just treat you and me as both being real.” A’s laughter was cut off by this, and immediately replaced by a rather serious expression.

Right now A was in a reflected room exactly like the one Ara was in, but as soon as she moved away so no mirror could catch her image he would be left in an empty, pure-white room with random fractions of the real world floating around him like giant shards of glass. The Fractal World was an empty place with nothing but himself and the belongings they threw inside for storage. It was a world without hunger, pain, warmth, or cold. One of them, A or B, would always be in there. And whenever they switched places, they gained the memories of the other, including the thoughts and emotions the ‘doppelganger’ felt while being in the Fractal World. Finally, A narrowed his eyes at the Ara in reality and told her, “One day, I’m going to say goodbye to this god-forsaken world and take my place back in reality for good.”

To this Ara sneered and replied, “How will you do that when you’re dead and gone?” They both knew the pain of being left alone in an empty world with nothing in it and how determined the other half was to escape from it, once and for all. But that was also why they could never forgive the other. Because they both thought that they were the real one and that the other one was the horrid doppelganger that had gotten them into the mess in the first place. The silent and hostile glaring between the two was cut off by a sudden announcement.
"CALLING ALL OF ATHALIA. PLEASE REPORT TO THE LOUNGE AREA FOR A MANDATORY MEETING!"

“… I’ll be going then.” Getting off the bed, Ara turned back to face the mirror once more before leaving. A nodded. Waving her off she added, “Don’t get too used to it. Those are my friends that you’re going to be socializing with.” Ara let out a laugh. “Like they would want to be friends with a delusional doppelganger.” And with that, she left for the lounge area to go join this mandatory meeting.

– Vee

“Did I?” Grinning mischievously, Vee pretended to play dumb as Rin tugged at her ear. She let him continue with the whining for a bit longer before she shook herself again and freed her ear out of his grasp. Then she quickly whirled around him and jumped onto his back. Even if she was lighter than he was, it wasn’t as though she was significantly smaller than the pup just yet. In a couple more years he would become even bigger than now, but not yet. Knocking him to the ground, she enjoyed the fluffiness of her newest ‘seat’. She noticed that somehow Rin had already managed to collect quite a bit of dirt into his fur despite the early hour, but she didn’t really mind. It wasn’t as though she had been particularly concerned about minor details like dirt or a few twigs in her fur when she had still been out in the wild. ‘Though I bet he’s going to end up getting a bath later.’

Her tail swished slowly back and forth as she smirked, “I agreed to have some fun. And also…” Vee raised a paw and placed it right at the top of Rin’s head. “I didn’t get a proper bribe.” She poked at his head a couple times more before she got an idea and suddenly exclaimed, “Ooh, wait! I know!”

Vee shifted so she had her forelegs on one side and her hind legs over the other side of Rin’s torso and continued, “We can go to the forest if you carry me there. Think of it as training. Yeah, that’s it.” If anyone else had been listening, they would’ve realized that she had just come up with the ‘training’ excuse as she spoke but she wondered if Rin would. Well, no matter. She liked this idea and had every intention to stick with it. “Let’s go! As fast as you can!” Then, a second later, she thought about what she had just said. “Oh, if you drop me though, I’m taking you straight back to Beast.”
– Vee

Vee let out a small laugh at Rin’s grand claims and settled down on the rock, making herself comfortable and obviously in no hurry at all to move away. “Yup. Keep training for oh… Another 12 years and you might be able to challenge the Alpha.” She was subtly teasing him. Purposely adding on another 2 years to her previous statement as to when he would be able to put up a good fight with Luke.

She chuckled at his failed attempt to reclaim his ‘throne’. “Don't hurt yourself.” She was saying that half for actual concern for him, and half due to concern for herself. She was not about to let the young pup go back injured after she had pretty much encouraged him to stray away from his caretaker. Then contrary to what she would have thought, he ended up giving up on the ‘throne’ rather easily. “A bigger throne?” Vee repeated, giving a slightly curious look with a tilt of her head.

Getting back up, she trotted over to where Rin was and gave him a small nuzzle under his chin. “Don’t worry, just keep training and you can get there.” ‘Probably.’ She wasn’t exactly sure of his potential, and not everyone got to be an Alpha after all. Then moving on in front of him, she nudged him back instead of just following behind him like before. “Hey, no more going further off. I haven't even had breakfast yet and you’re trying to make me go on my second walk of the day already?”
– Vee

Vee followed along with Rin, letting him just hop about as he pleased. It may have been a good idea to let Beast know where they were going first but… ‘Ah well. I’m supervising him, aren’t I?’ She wasn’t exactly the most responsible caretaker out there, but she was almost the same age as Beast so she figured he technically wouldn’t be able to complain about letting the young pup run free on his own.

Then noticing a rather peculiar scent in the air, she raised her nose up and stared back behind her. There was a plume of smoke behind them somewhere in the village. Now normally this would have been a great need for concern, but even during her short stay at the village she became used to spontaneous combustion of objects that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Namely, near Akira when she was in a bad mood. Ignoring the potential chaos behind her, Vee continued to stroll along with Rin away from all the troubles.

She laughed, “Hah, good! Dream big and get big!” Vee encouraged him, not bothering to point out that if he ever did become Alpha he’d probably be old enough to know that a mere rock wasn’t much of a throne. “But for now…” Grinning mischievously, she also jumped onto the rock and using a small head-butt, she pushed Rin off. “You’re still 10 years too early to be challenging anyone. Hah.”
– Vee

“Uh-huh. Well the only choices you have now are-” She didn’t get to quite finish her sentence because Rin had just knocked her over and started licking her face. ‘Arceus… Thou art cruel.’ Laws of physics dictated that the smaller mass would fall if hit by a larger mass. Laws of pokemon stated that even an older Eevee was generally smaller and lighter than a pup of a Poochyena.

But it wasn’t as though she could get mad at such a playful greeting. “And an adventure? Inside this village?” Vee laughed, straining to get her face away from all the licking. Eventually she just rolled away and shook herself as though she had just had a dip into a pool of water. Using her front paws, she fixed some of her fur back into place and wiped off some of Rin’s drool. “Fine then. Lead the way and let’s go and have some fun!”
