Allow me to introduce myself. I'm ThePhilosopher, a twenty-something university student from England who enjoys wasting time on the internet whilst listening to terrible music. I've been roleplaying for several years now, and am coming off of a rather long break. I'm looking to ease back into RPing, as I have developed an urge to RP once more and am looking for one or two partners to settle back into it with. I currently have a few plots that I am looking to expand on with a partner, which are listed below. I also have some pairings listed and a word bank with my interests, so if you believe we could be a match and wish to approach me with plots that fit any of my interests or want to work on something for a pairing, feel free to PM me.
What I can offer:
I consider myself able to write at an advanced level. That is, I can write posts the length of a novella if the inspiration is there, and never do one-liners or a few sentences. The minimum I write is two paragraphs. I am also adaptable to my partner's post length. I will always check over my work for mistakes, am very descriptive, and love detail and complexities within plots and sub-plots.
I cannot write every day, but I aim to post at least once a week, hopefully more. This is because I'm slowly getting back into the groove of RPing, and I don't want to burn myself out too quickly by posting too much. But if the inspiration is there, I will try to get out more than one post a week.
I can do M/F, F/F, and M/M. I prefer the first two over the latter due to the fact I have more experience with them, but I'm not limited. My RPs will usually include characters of different orientations.
I can play both male and female characters, though I always play the male in M/F pairings because that's what I feel most comfortable with.
I only RP as human or human-leaning (e.g. werewolves, vampires, elves, etc.) characters. No furries, anthros, or anything like that, as it's just not my cup of tea.
I love to play multiple characters in RPs, and will introduce many characters/NPCs. My posts may include points of views of two characters at a time, separated for ease of reading, of course. This is because I love to play out several plots in an RP and add depth to the story, which I do through playing multiple different characters.
I always make character sheets, for my own reference and for my partner. They can be simple or complex, but include necessary information. I ask that my partner at least fills out a simple character sheet as well, with name/age/face claim/a brief paragraph on who they are so that I'm not entering an RP blind.
I offer immense patience. I understand that life can get in the way, it has for me several times, and so I will never pester a partner for a quick response and am happy to wait.
I RP in PMs or threads, but am also open to Google Docs. I prefer RPing in PMs if we include explicit content, though. I'm not sure how RPing on Discord works with their character limit as I've never used it to RP, but if you'd like to talk to me OOC on Discord, I'm open to that as well. Just let me know.
What I ask for/rules (?):
I would like my patience returned. As I said, I'm getting back into all of this, so patience would be fantastic. Please don't ask where my post is the day after your response, because it's likely I will still be working on it. If the time between your post and mine nears a week, I'll apologise for my absence and let you know I'm still here or if I wish to leave the RP.
I only RP with people who are 18+. It's just because as someone who is over 18, I feel much more comfortable RPing with people who are 18+ as well.
I'd like to RP with someone who can match my post length and 'quality'. It's not nearly as snobbish as it sounds: I just want to RP with people who have few mistakes in their work (human error withstanding), are clear with what they write, and can write a minimum of two paragraphs. I'm not asking for published work level of posts, just writing I can understand and feel immersed in.
I only use real life face claims for my characters, and ask my partner does the same. It may be a bit of a nit-pick, but I can't get immersed in an RP using anime face claims. If you find it hard to find real face claims, I can gladly help.
I'd like to RP with someone who values story over explicit content. I have nothing against mature content (I encourage it in some instances) but I like RPs with substance to them. We can do slow-burn romance, and if you wish to do explicit content then I'm open to it, but I'd like there to be an emphasis on plot first, otherwise I'll likely lose interest.
I'm also looking for someone who reads this thread in full, and if you have so far and are interested, please send me a PM with a horror film name in the PM subject/title. I won't answer people who post only in this thread – please send me a private message telling me a little about yourself and what you're interested in RPing with me.
What I don't do (for clarification):
I don't do one-liners and stray away from RPs that only have one paragraph per post.
I don't want RPs that are all explicit content and no substance. I need a story. If explicit content occurs, I'm fine with that, but I need more than that.
I don't spring any surprising explicit content on my partners, and will discuss these things beforehand. I expect the same from my partner.
I don't do anime-esque plots, I prefer realism and realistic portrayals.
I don't do anthro characters. Humans or human-leaning only please.
My limits can be discussed in private, and I will never cross my partner's limits.
Now onto the real reason you're here: the actual RPs. I have a few ideas that I'm really craving, with vague plots and worlds that we can expand on if you wish.

King Cedric of House Coulson is dying. The responsibilities of the Kingdom have been left to his advisers, but once he is dead, they can't all become Kings and Queens. They need to find an heir. Unfortunately, Cedric's House has been plagued with untimely deaths, leaving him with no children. Or so many believed. On his deathbed, he gathers his advisers around and tells them of an heir: a son who was sent away due to his disturbing magical abilities, who was hidden for fear of bringing shame to House Coulson in this anti-magic era. The King, wanting to make peace with his wrongdoings, tells his advisers that they have no choice: they must find his heir, and bring him back to the Kingdom.
But is the heir even alive? And even if he is, they have few leads on where he actually is now. Another Kingdom, another realm, or even uncharted territory? Wherever he is, he must be found, before the Coulson House is unseated from power by the desperate rival Houses.
This RP would also involve us playing multiple characters, which will be decided on when we work out more details of the plot. They may include: House Coulson's advisers, members of House Coulson, members of rival Houses, or any others who fit into the plot.

The Academy for the Genetically Gifted (AGG) is a school for those that some consider monsters, others see as saviours, and most call mutants. In recent decades, there has been a sharp increase in mutants – those with unexplainable superpowers that range from telepathy to complete invincibility – and thus, AGG was created to house and teach them, educating them on their powers and protecting them from both those who wish harm and those that wish for them to do harm. So far, AGG has been a success: endorsed by many government officials, supported by charities, and helped by former students who have now grown into teachers at the Academy.
However, not everything lasts forever. A rebellion has been brewing, led by mutants who feel that AGG is restrictive and controlling. Add onto that the rumour that AGG is training its students to become government super soldiers, and its no wonder the rebellion is gaining traction. Whilst some see the rumoured rebellion as a movement for freedom, others see it as a group of villains in the making, living up to their fictional comic book predecessors' reputations. Regardless of the rebellion and government rumours, AGG is still operational, now the biggest it has ever been. And for the first time ever, it has begun to create mutant task forces, designed to protect the city from crime. But is there more to these crime-fighting teams? Is the rebellion right in their accusations? Or is AGG just doing what's best for their students?
This RP would focus on our two main characters, who would be young adults (18-25) who are/were students of the AGG, and are still around perfecting control over their superpowers. The details of them can be figured out, but they would have some links to the AGG's new task forces programme – either they're a part of it, they want to rebel against it, or they wish to be a part of it at some point. It can all be worked out if you're interested. We would also likely play other characters, though they wouldn't be as focussed on. Lots of potential for different plots in this setting.
I also have pairings. Just a note on those: if you approach me wanting to do a pairing, please be prepared to do some plotting and add details, as I need a lot of plot to remain invested in an RP. I'm here for long-term RPs as opposed to quick pairings where the only focus is the relationship between the two characters. Beside each pairing is the type I'm willing to do for it, and the role I'd prefer to play is coloured.
