Yukan Koyake

The Tanuki fiery warrior was glad to see that his fire did actually seem to work on the undead, even if he didn’t show it on his face, which was seemingly affixed with a serious visage.

He did however look to Hiruq and give a nod of acknowledgement if albeit brief, before he saw him shift into a larger even more beastial form.

Given that there were so many enemies coming in from the East, Yukan knew that the logical place for him to position himself would be on the eastern front with Hiruq for a follow up.

“<I’ll continue to provide assistance on the eastern front!>”
Yukan called out to him in beastial.

Since it seemed like the others were handling themselves well enough for the time being with the smaller group being funneled in and systematically dispatched.

Yukan rushed forward again toward the central mass of the undead horde, trying to hit the most central one with his flame blessed su yari directly, this time he went to unleash a more powerful attack given that there were even more enemies than before.

The Flames looked even more intense this time as a ring of very hot sacred fire shot forth from his Su Yari and his central mass, engulfing all of the undead which he could in it.

He then once again was quick to assume a defensive stance, leveraging, his fire lord armor once more.

Yukan Actions:

Yukan tries to charge up to 8x normal base movement before he attempts to pierce a target up to 100ft away with his flame blessed Yari, a radial ring of fire spreads around Yukan at enemies up to 50 ft away, selectively sparing those who he does not wish to harm. Deals 4 extra damage on fire blight successfully effecting target. Ignores up to 4 grades of target(s) fire resistance. Ignore up to 4 grades of target’s defensively used item. +1 effectiveness against enemies more than 5 ft away, -1 effectiveness against enemies 5 ft or less away. Deals double damage if target weak spot hit. C Grade ability - 2 round cooldown (Energized)

3. Defensive stance leveraging Fire Lord Armor B for defence if necessary.

Yukan would have listened to the chatter, probably not having much to add himself there. However he did note that Itsy seemed to come to a similiar conclusion which he had. He hoped that between their two voices those there would take heed. Even if these undead didn't bring instant death to those who were bitten or scratched, dying to them was a fate which he did not wish on some of the worst enemies he knew, wandering the land, causing death and destruction after death helpless to stop it, was not Yukan's idea of a honorable or fun time.

His interest was a bit piqued by what Emily was saying, "A mathmatician is here to serve.." He'd speak a loud to himself. Interesting, he just hoped that she'd be able to hold her own if it came down to it.

"Funneling attacks is not an unreasonable if we have time to make it so one way or another, this could work well with the defensive fish scale formation if it came down to it.." Yukan also added.

Meanwhile Yume and Yumi were speaking about all sorts of things that the Tanuki beast warrior really didn't have much to add on, though he did find Yume to be..most curious, his danger sense hadn't gone off and she seemed innocent enough, but even he had to admit earlier that she seemed very insistent even going as far to get pushy with the catalyst.

Not long after Yukan spoke though it looked like high command was having foritications assembled in motion then and there.

He nodded upon hearing what Hiruq had to say. Even with his compatriot's more challenging tone, Yukan didn't break the start of a smile.

"Very well, I will buy our central force some more time by disrupting some of the larger groups." He didn't seem particularly afraid, just very focused, a serious steely look on his visage.

He figured the others would do what they would. Based on what was said. He trusted high command would know how to instruct people defensively in the funnel, it wasn't a mantle which seemed essential for him to take up at the moment.

It looked like Itsy despite his small size was braze enough to go right into the fray, that was the true beast spirit which Yukan liked to see in action.

Yukan then moved forward toward the group of 20 undead, he'd rush up with Fast D, assuming he was unopposed, he'd rush to the closest undead to him in the most center of the group before his body would ignite with some fae fire running around his form before he pivoted into a great fiery stab attack, a ring of fire spreading out from his attack stance during his stab in an effort to engulf all 20 undead now near him.

He'd then prepare to block should any undead survive and try to counter attack with his heavy fire lord armor B.

Thankfully for Yukan being so connected to the Fire Cardinal of the Fae See probably had some perks as far as the cold weather went. The heat which he produced probably helped him some. He marched along with the others nevertheless, still doing his utmost to stay toward the general front of the group area.

Eventually over time the weather seemed to be less severe which was nice however. What was decidedly less nice was when Yukan got into seeing range of Nan Gau. The whole place looked like it was a mess and that given there was no one around it was clear that people had in fact fled, which was a pretty obvious choice if the talk of all the undead was believed to be accurate. Even well trained guards would have a hard time fending off many enemies at once, and the chance of there being many undead sounded pretty high.

"Everyone, take extra caution here..even with the silence one cannot be too certain what kind of hostile dangers could still be lurking near here.." Yukan took his Flame Blessed Su-Yari out just encase, and had it at the ready.

Yukan then attempted to use a combination of Heightened Sense D [Smell/Hearing/Sight]+ Dark Vision (if applicable) + Sixth Sense Danger F + Energized D To see if he could gain any information from around the area with his heightened senses like the smell of blood or undead or anything unusual, or if he could get glances of anything in the darkness or hear anything unusual or sense any danger.

Yukan Actions:

1. Use ability Supernatural Tanuki Senses to see what he can learn in village area.

Yukan, seeing Hiruq gesturing for him to join, gave him a respectful nod of acknowledgement, before he made his way over and sat down near Moo and Hiruq.

without complaint would have eaten whatever was going. He wasn't particularly a picky eater, he had had a many meals out in the field now which were designed for distributing fuel to the body rather than being particularly enjoyable, particularly in his battle against the East Empire. He listened to comments some about food, some about other things, peculiar things.

"I have heard of this Japanese before, I believe that I have met people who can speak it. They have told me that written beastial has similarities but it is not identical to the language which they are familiar with." Yukan commented aloud matter of fact.

He then looked over to Itsy, and said,

"About what you said earlier strategically drenching our enemies in oil comes to mind, of course my fire is quite formidable by itself, but an accelerant certainly could come handy for making those with more mundane means of fire more effective, as depending on the scale of our foes..I may not be able to hit all of them with my perserving sacred fire, If there were too many of them for example."

It was true Yukan's fire was so strong that he could even set fiery beings on fire potentially..being connected to a fire cardinal did that for you it seemed.

Indeed even during down time the Tanuki Warrior tended to think about the task at hand, having difficulty relaxing at times, many of those who he had socialized some with in the past not being around as much, even then at celebrations frequently having a hard time settling down..

No matter he'd look to the table,

"I believe that we have a very capable assembly here. By working together, I have a good feeling that we will be successful in this operation."

But after some time passed. Yukan found himself nodding in agreement. "Very well. The time has come." He'd then make his way out to join in the march, wanting to head closer toward the front of the moving group.

Likely utilizing his Darkvision as well as he looked around, finding his gaze looking to the mountains every now and again finding it hard not too periodically, or even looking at some of the lighting which had started to crop up.

Yukan actions:
Join with others toward front, use Darkvision to look out as the landscape became darker.

Yukan took notice of those who were visible to him and who spoke with occasional nods, also giving one of acknowledgement to Moo.

Yukan was pleased to hear that it was not spread by infection, but that still meant that those who were killed by them or..died near them even were likely to rise again as undead which was far from ideal.

The Tanuki warrior gave another nod when Hiruq responded to Yukan’s fire abilities. Hopefully it would be the fire that would cleanse evil away.

Yukan had learned by that point not to be nearly as judgemental about appearances for those who could fight, he was more inclined to believe those who were there that they were being genuine about their abilities regardless if they looked fierce or not.

“It sounds like we’ve assembled some capable fighters in tandem with the resources provided by those lending supporting, I suppose once we see the exact enemies we are dealing with, as far as an approximate number and their behavior that will better inform our battle plan moving forward.”

Yukan continued to speak rather seriously, before he looked over hearing about the mess hall.

“Well then, perhaps we should rally our strength then. One never knows when a meal will be their last.” Yukan stated matter of fact. Now that he had two near death experiences and one fatal experience, he knew that well enough.

With that Yukan decided to be available to talk things through with others there as deemed necessary as well as partake in what was being offered in the hall.

Yukan made an effort to do appropriately respectful bows with Etiquette E + Energized E to those around him who were deemed to fit to do so too. He then Looked to Hiruq and giving a nod of acknowledgement

"You are right, I could have, I had some business to attend too, perhaps in the near future it will be more tenable." He'd respond.

He then looked to the Yamamoto who spoke, listening to her. "Yes It is as Kurogami Hiruq has spoken. I, Koyake Yukan, wish to assist in this operation with not only myself but resources at my disposal to rid these lands of this plague." He paused before continuing,

" It is not the first time which I have faced off against the undead. The first time was when I assisted in liberating the Fallen Blossom Shrine. Our undead adversaries were around one hundred there. I advocated that we used a Gyorin (Fish scales) battle formation which proven to be effective at least against that many enemies, Perhaps if there are more than that we could use multiple clusters of formations to take them on."

"Of course these undead were more like walking corpses who tended to try to overwhelm their targets in melee combat, is that similiar to the kinds we would be facing against in this operation?"

He then continued, looking to Hiruq briefly again, "It is notable that this was before my.. 'fire' as you put it was present as a part of me. But it is through this fire and metal which I feel confident I can assist in vanquishing these..hordes you speak of. I myself am more capable of attacking many enemies at once around me with my fire, so I am not opposed to intentionally surrounding myself with them before attacking them at once."

"I am also capable of hitting enemies at far ranges with attacks from my flame blessed Su Yari."

Yukan figured he'd answer the general questions as well as sharing information about his thoughts. "If fire is proven to be effective against many then that should be taken into consideration too, while I can certainly produce plenty of fire, it doesn't sound like it'd be unreasonable to try to lead large groups of these undead assuming that they don't all move too quickly to areas which we can more readily use fire and employ these strategies." Yukan would further share his thoughts on the matter.

He'd then listen to what the others had to say.

Of course while Yukan wasn't saying it openly, he had a pretty good amount of combat field experience now. Between fighting against undead, monsters, and the east empire.

Yukan was aware that he was to meet up with others for a political meeting discussing how to deal with some common enemies. The fiery Tanuki warrior made his way along the streets of Nan Gau. He made his way toward where he was supposed to be meeting up, presumably after the last incident of combat he had engaged with getting to where he needed to go had gone off with out a hitch. Currently his Flame blessed Yari was kept on his back. Any flames along his body dulled probably, compared to when he was in combat. Yukan made his way to the (Guild hall?) So that he could head to the area where he was expected. Should there be someone for him to follow when he got there he would, if he already knew where to go he'd head there.

Alaerin made his way over and successfully took the Jade Flute! He was able to study it, the strange ethereal aura it gave off didn’t seem to feel like anything to him, other then the immediate air around his hands feeling cooler.

As he examined the scroll tube, and opened it, what slid out was a very old piece of parchment, it looked like it was a very old map of more of the desert border area, little logos that looked like settlements which no longer existed in the modern day, but there were actually a couple which might still exist or at the very least more modern settlements had taken their place, but perhaps more interestingly there were a few parts of the map that were marked with x’s.

Beneath the map on the border it also looked like there could have been some sort of music notes written in old Beastial which Alaerin couldn’t easily understand, and likely nor could AnoYi very well even if he looked at it, it was far removed from the standard music playing practice which was more commonly found in the current day. Perhaps it was related to the map.

AnoYi meanwhile accurately translated what he saw on the wall, and it seemed like his words were well spoken.

Suddenly not that long after the map had been revealed the whole chamber began to shake slightly and a loud rumbling sound filled the area, the door which had opened for them now closed, and the ceiling above them began to open up as if by magic, larger enough so that the floor beneath them in the room could fit easily, and not unlike a much more rustic elevator, the room began to rise from deep below the sands back toward the surface, a magic transparent energy field of sorts protecting them, as the eyes on the statues glowed, until after quite some time of travel, they found themselves back in the Desert, the evening orangey yellow sky above them, casting a golden glow across the sands, it was decidedly chilly.

And just like that the desert sands below them began to reform as if it had been undisturbed until they found themselves all on the ground once again.

Thankfully as was custom the Faazi Merchant Guild had given the group a wooden pendant to which they could use to drop their location and inform them of their success. In due time a caravan came to collect them, apparently they had not been dropped off too far away from a West Empire trade route, which allowed them to be retrieved, and upon delivering the flute to a Faazi Merchant Guild group representative they were paid accordingly for a successful job.

- The party was requested by the Faazi Merchant guild, a Merchant Guild from the Fae see, in retrieving a rare Jade dragon flute artifact from a tomb of a long ago empire in a temple/tomb underneath the desert between the Kingdom and West Empire border. The group explored the temple.

The group eventually meet Tombkeeper Gutou after defeating a pair of golems, and defeating a magically held underground octopus like creature. They get the trial orbs needed to clear the first set after defeating the octopus and clearing a dangerous obstacle course with a wall trap and magic projectile sentries before fighting Gutou himself, his arena champion, as well as skeletons as a final tombkeeper challenge before they are permitted to take the jade dragon flute. They then are successfully brought back up to the surface, near a major trade route, and the Faazi merchant guild picks them up where they successfully deliver their loot.

Alaerin was quick to jump into a defensive position at the oncoming malicious wave of green energy which sprayed out from the Champion in the ring. His ward would soak up some cracking again looking moderately damaged as his electrical energy lit up the area, Von Mackstein joined with a united front their armor taking some searing damage as well but it held up, helping to absorb some of the blow.

AnoYi shared some helpful insight while his allies defended, that the altar throne or Gutou himself might be key to ending the battle early, thankfully for him shielded by his allies.

It wasn’t long before Von Mackstein’s order to fire rang out in the arena rounds striking the poor skeletons who couldn’t do much more other then fall over again and splatter into a green miasma, one even trying to take a swing at the shot which echoed throughout the arena, whatever semblance of armor they had, ruined by the already earlier used explosive shots laughably inadequate for the more modern technology which Von Mackstein’s units were using.

The champion let out another roar at being shot, raising the axe over it’s head, energy began to gather rapidly as it looked like it was going to try go in for another devastating swing on the whole party, but before it could commit, the regular shot which had been targeting Gutou, landed true, striking the blackened skeleton in the Jaw, Gutou raised his hands up all at once..before suddenly the skeleton collapsed to the ground, the light in the arena faded all at once.

Just as soon as the skeleton crowd had been there, all of the bones began to retract rapidly from whence they came from. The only glow left in the arena itself the large overcharged crystal over head, and finally the dust began to settle in the sand stone area..

And then a rumbling sound could be heard, At the far wall of the arena a stone slab slid away from the wall, revealing a modest sized square sandstone room with a radiant glow, was revealed. Inside the room there were ornate swords, early ornate west empire and kingdom inspired bows, as well as some artifacts which were sitting atop pillars, There was a strange metal cube with writing on it, as well as what looked like might have been a container for a scroll.

This time pillar hieroglyphics on each corner of the room depicted various celebrations, and times of wealth, prosperity and culture, beast people creating art, dining at tables, crafting valuable tools.

Off from the center however was the artifact which the group had gone through all of the effort to getting for the Faazi Merchant Guild, it was the jade flute, which seemed to match the sketch which they had recieved of it for refernce. It was a medium sized instrument gleaming, with a faint ethereal green miasama not unlike the one which Gutou and those who he summoned had given off. But it was carved intricately and beautifully into a dragon head shape, with yellowy gemstone inlays for the eyes, with gold ornamentation.

There were also a few more ornate serpent statues and a couple of lion statues which flanked either side of the room, but they did not have spaces for more metal orbs, they were carved from stone and precioius metals, with some gemstone eye inlays as well.

AnoYi would notice some faint runic writing with a bit of a orangey glow against the back wall of the room which was in a Beastial that he could sort of understand, it read roughly in a modern beastial equivalent

“<By royal edict Those who have vanquished my trial even after my life hath past, May take from this room, what they have earned.>”
There appeared to be an ornate signature nearby the wording as if it were validating the statement with royal approval but it was more difficult to read.
Yukan Koyake

Yukan was pleased to see that his attacks were devastating enough, with his connection to the fire cardinal it was really showing what the fae fire could do. It was still strange for the warrior, to even be considered part fae but there he was, straddling both worlds.

“You all had your opportunity to surrender to the law…” Yukan muttered. Unfortunately it seemed that his enemies could not be put to rest even in death, he could see them rising from death becoming undead.

“This is not my first encounter with this unnatural dark magic..” Yukan spat in defiance, recalling the Fallen Blossom Shrine where he had faced off against a much larger army of undead, of course he was even stronger now..

“Bring as many back as you will, I will cleanse them from this plain!” Yukan called out.

Yukan looked to Tsukiko, and shook his head, “I am not the head of the clan, but I am a member with some unique distinction. I agree that we can work together to end this evil.”

Just as Yukan got ready to attack suddenly there was a whole slew of guardian like beasts came out of the wood work, some looking more ethereal than others and began to ravage the undead.

Yukan aimed his spear focusing on the necromancer now..with a decisive strike he hoped that he could help take her out as well as burn more undead around him, so he prepared. “The tide of battle is turning in our favor! Perhaps if the necromancer perishes..this will all end quickly and blood shed can finally stop.”

Yukan then focused with a serious resolved look on his face, with one forceful stab sent forth a force of fiery steely energy from his flame blessed Yari, the ring of fire shooting out again from around him to burn undead and other enemies 50 ft away in a radial, selectively sparing Tsukiko from it harming her.

Yukan actions:
